I seem to be the only person that really enjoys this show. I wouldn't have wanted it to be the future of the franchise but as a one off side adventure I find it really entertaining. I like the sci-fi designs. It wouldn't be interesting or even make sense for a different planet to have the same design aesthetics as Eternia. It's being different that makes it interesting. I like Filmation more, but I couldn't marathon the entire series. Too many episodes that don't appeal to me and are just silly. Where as I actually can marathon NA and find it mostly entertaining for it's character writing and even some continuity.

haha I liked this show too as a kid, when this first aired in our country the 80's He-Man was also aired on a different time slot and I liked them both. The 80's for the episodic stories and this one for the pretty intro, slightly better animation and a different brand of Skeletor humor.

I am like you, I missed the boat for the original show, when I was 6 the original already gave the impression of being "old". But NA seemed fresh and the toys were on the shelves. I think you had to grow up with it to like it.

I actually enjoyed it. While I can understand that the new design and changing how characters act may be off to some, I find Skeletor in that version far more intriging. It's a blast seeing him interact with the mutants and manipulate everyone for his goals. And the mutants are also really hilarious especially Slush Head. The things that bothers me that every episode ended, as admitted by the writers themselves, by deus ex machina. They were enjoying making bullshit up thus there was no real threat from the badguys sadly. But for what He-Man was I think it worked. New He-Man series can't even go that far turning it to political propaganda and add subversion for the sake of subversion.

I love this show, especially Skeletor

Currently watching the show on Peacock and it's not that bad it takes them a few episodes but they redo Skeletor's design and some episodes actually have a darker theme to them as well. I think it'd work better as a alternate universe rather than He-Man going to the future. However the characters could have been fleshed out more.

Djoka Djokovic You keep repeating that comment on every MOTU video I see. Yes, Filmation He-Man WAS a "toyetic" cartoon (one of the most (in)famous ones) but it had good writers (Paul Dini, J Michael Straczyski) and tv animation vets (Lou Scheimer and the rest of the filmation team) to make try and make it something more than a toyline tie-in. It had humour, action, adventure and heart.

@@carlosalmonacid8958 No, making fun of Filmation He-Man and magnificently stupid Skeletor from Filmation (justifably so) doesnt make Now adventures of He/man and Now adventures Skeletor better. The fact that they are better in every way, brought to life by artists and writers with talent who actually care about the product, is what makes them better. Your fondness for Filmation He-Man is pure nostalgia for something from your childhood, and nothing more. If you like the DC comics version of He-Man, , thats one thing. DCs standards for writing and characterization are infinitely superior to that awful Filmation tv cartoon. But the TV show was one of the worst cartoon of its kind on TV back then. And the name is STILL(She/joke) laughable. Don't we have enough original characters in comics without having to take one from a shitty tv cartoon??

Djoka Djokovic Why do you keep commenting on He-Man videos if you dislike the original show? If you must know, I wasn't even born when He-Man was originally on TV, I'm more of a fan of the 200x version. Besides, there were dozens of other toyetic cartoons in the 1980s (e.g. Transformers, Thundercats, Bravestarr, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dino-Riders, Go-Bots, Inhumanoids, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, The Potato Head Kids, Jem & The Holograms). Why don't you talk about them?

I now know what skeletor looks like, he looks like Bugs Bunny. I could forgive the show if they at least made Skeletor scary looking, and also kept his voice actor. If they would have done that, I believe the show would have lasted the decade.

Liked your video, I totally agree with you on the new adventures It seriously lacked story and good writing. Too many negatives to list. Definitely boring!

Honestly this is the first ever He-Man I watched as a kid, and I didn't know this was suppose to be the 2nd series. It was fine at the time, at least He-Man actually uses his sword for something, and some of the action scenes look pretty good.

I'd forgotten how bad this was. The doctors look like they're from Dr SNuggles.

Well, after all, He Man’s based on a Mattel toy line. The Mattel sponsored He Man comics were perhaps Much Better than the original tv show until recently.

I had a sneaking suspicion when I saw the intro, how boring it looked, how unimposing Skeletor looked, and how uninspired He-Man's new generic friends appeared.

This is like the Halloween 3 of the MOTU franchise. I would like to apologize on behalf of my country of Canada, because a lot of the involvement of Canadians. He-Man looks like a Karate Kid stand-in. His eyes are a cursed image. Teela becomes blonde, Orko, Man-At-Arms, and Cringer/Battle Cat have no fucking part of this series. The only people who had involvement from the original show were Haim Saban and Shuki Levy for soundtrack. I feel they could've slightly redeemed themselves if they tried using soundtrack even remotely reminiscent of the original, although I'm going to guess there would've likely been issues with copyright. If they decided to make this series it's own thing, aside from the blonde guy in jeans who looks like my Dad in the 90's witha magic sword, and the guy with the skull for a face, I think it would've not been viewed as a rip off of He-Man if they made this series its own thing.

When I watched this show back in the day I was dissapointed in the direction it took with He-Man and Skeletor and the horrible look of Skeletor and boring stories. I stopped watching it as a kid. The 2002 reboot was an amazing show and thats how you bring He-Man in the modern era.
