This style would be prefect for bridesmaids dresses.
Are you selling those?
Daphne must be your favorite character. This is lovely
Love Daphne 💙 I think she had the best wardrobe 💎 ✨
What is that thing that you keep putting on the material that are not scissors
I’m not sure what you mean. It could be pins to secure the fabric to the cotton interlining, or chalk to draw darts. If you could be more specific that would help me.
Which is it a dress or skirt
I don’t understand your question? It’s a dress, but the pattern offers different skirt shapes.
Do you have any examples of the flutter sleeves?
At the 2:29 minute marker there is a quick example of the flutter sleeve made in a striped cotton fabric and the bottom edge finished with binding. Right now that is the only example i have on video. I hope this helps!
I need help. I measured my bust and underbust. I’m 36 bust and 32 underbust. I made the bodice. It sits way too high above my boobs
Did you cut out size labeled 36? If you want the bodice very fitted you can test size 34. Make sure you followed the correct lines- sometimes it gets confusing following the lines. If necessary you can tweak the bodice, like lengthening the straps to help is sit lower. If you’re still struggling you can try sending some photos on Etsy and I’ll take a look.
@@KittyJBerry I’ll try lengthening the straps. Thank you!
@@KittyJBerry I found out my issue. I was attaching the sleeve incorrectly. I was trying to attach the small arm hole to the bodice
@@genniferwest I'm glad you got it sorted! Sorry I couldn't be more help, it's so tricky when I can't see! I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out for you!
Edits are too fast
I love this dress so much. The combination of drawdtring at the neckline and darts under the bust is just so perfect.
Currently making this and its so much fun. Cant wait to start on the short stays! Great pattern and great sew along! ❤
The dress gives me a cinderella vibe
Thank you!! I was hoping for that effect 💙✨
lovely! also made my own Bridgerton dress and made a video! it was so much fun ! :D🥰
Thank you! This is my first attempt, I've made so many dresses since 💙 I will check out your video ☺
@@KittyJBerry turned out amazing 🤩
This is so cool! also made my own Bridgerton dress, and video! it was so much fun to do! <3
Thank you! 💜 I will check out your video!
Have you ever tried Lucrezia Borgia's dresses? I really love them, but the bodice part is a challenge to me, they look so tight and they also seem to give a lot of support. I would like to see some similar pattern
I’ve seen photos and she has many beautiful dresses, but I need to take a better look at them 😊 it’s a fun project idea! 💓
@@KittyJBerry Yes, it is!! I'll try to sew her first wedding dress and see what happens
Gorgeous dress !!
Thank you 💓💓💓
You are absolutely beautiful in the dress! It suits you very well.
Good patterns looks amazing. One little thing Re-gent-see Other than that i adore this video and i love your inclusion of flutter sleeves. I hardly ever see them in regency patterns
Shame the subtitles are incorrect, made it so difficult to follow.
I neeeeed this dress! I love the last unicorn so much T-T
Such a great video of the making of this dress. Thank you!
Thanks you!! 🥰
It sounds like you are pronouncing it "reh-gen-cee" which is incorrect. It's pronounced "ree-gen-cee", the first e is long and elegant. However, the dress is beautiful, you are very talented!
Gorgeous:) i was wondering, from my solid colour i have around 2.5M fabric, if i could copy the front skirt to the back, and with my see through overlayer make the pleads ? (I have 4m of that one) in order to be able to make it?
I couldn't say, I have never tested this. You could lay the pattern piece out and mark it with pins or chalk and see if you can get both to fit. I would also check the waist line measurement. The two things to consider is getting enough skirt to go around the bodice, and if it can fit on 2.5 meters of fabric. I think 2.5 won't be enough, especialy if you're cutting the bodice pieces and sleeves from the solid fabric. Maybe 3 or 3.5 meters would be enough? but this is only a guess, I can't say for sure. Check the measurements and Lay the pattern pieces out and see if you can tetris it to fit. Good Luck!
Beautifully made, it almost looks like liquid silver!
Thank you so much!
Looks really good. I have got a question though. I,m getting married and I,m making my own wedding dress. I got a similar pattern but I,m not really happy with the fit and I,m considering buying your pattern to use cause it seems more professional. Can I ask how much main fabric you need for size 18 uk? Anyway thanks in advance ☺️
Thank you! 😊I'm not very familiar with UK sizing, but if your bust is around 42 inches you will need about 7 meters of fabric if you want a dress like the one in this video. I used 7 meters to make this dress. If your fabric has a design or pattern, or a narrow width, or you're rather tall, you might need a little extra. You will also want about 1/2 meter of cotton for interlining the bodice. I hope this helps!
@KittyJBerry thank you so much! then I should be good cause I already got my fabric about 8 metre. Your tutorial is amazing and such a help. Xxx
Got this in my recommended and clicked on it bcs I remembered your Bridgerton dress from a couple years ago just to see you posted so many other tutorials as well! What amazing work in such a short time!
Thank you so much! It was certainly Labor of Love to make all the videos 😊
love this, girl! you are so talented 🫶
Thank you! 🥹💗
This is so amazing! I was just finishing up my set of stays (also your pattern!) and was getting ready to make the dress, but was having a difficult time finding the specific pattern I wanted. I am so excited to get started with this!
Thank you for giving my patterns a go! 💓 I hope the stays worked well for you! Hopefully this pattern has what you were looking for, it certainly has a lot of pieces!
@@KittyJBerry the stays worked beautifully! I usually have a difficult time finding patterns that work cause my bust measurement is about 16" more than my waist 😅 but your pattern worked perfectly!
@@samwhiffin I am so so happy to hear that!!☺ It can be tricky getting things to fit just right, i guess that's the beauty and the pain of sewing your own things 😅 but I am so happy to hear the stays worked out! If I can help at all with the dress let me know 💓
Your dress turned out so beautiful! Well done :)
Thank you!!! ^^
So so utterly gorgeous! 😍😍 I’m going to use your pattern for both my historical and modern regency wardrobe. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for watching the video! I hope the pattern works out well for you!! Excited to see what you make!
I just wanted to say, I love your videos and your patterns are awesome, I'm going to buy this pattern. I was wondering if you could actually make a lace up example with this pattern. It would be very helpful
Thank you so much for giving this pattern a go! I might make a lace up example down the road. I think it would be easy enough to make a dress with a lace up / corset style back. I would make the bodice with the cotton interlining for sure (to support the eyelets). Then I would finish up the back as usual - adding the lining. Then I would use an awl to poke holes into the center back and add eyelets using eyelet Pliers. I think I would add several 4mm or 5mm eyelets up and down both sides- I've always been partial to the Prym Eyelet Pliers and Eyelets with Washers. Then you could just use ribbon to tie it up. Of course hand-sewing eyelets would be a lovely historical way to add eyelets. Thank you for your suggestion! I will certainly have to see if I can work on a lace up example in the future!
@@KittyJBerry Thank you so much, this is extremely helpful
I want one of those dresses
I prefer to sew sleeves together and hem it in the end, it looks nicer.
the way you set your sleeves was very successful and you achieved a very satisfying pouf. Lovely final garment!
Awesome video! It really helped me create a top with embellishments! Thank you so much for posting!!!
I've watched 5 or 6 videos and this is the only one that made sense. I've never sewn anything before and want to start with this. Thank you!!
How did you adapt for the back width when you added the buttons please? I’m thinking you lose c 2cm with the overlap of the panels?
Perfect tutorial ❤
The tail is so pretty 🧜♀️
That's awesome!!!!! I love it!
哲学の道?
Yes! Philosopher’s Path, or Tetsugaku No Michi (哲学の道) in Kyoto 💗
Love this! You're super talented! I wish I had had more sewing classes in school. I was given the lessons too early as a child so my mind was just like : ???
i've been watching tutorials to sew chemises for over half an hour now but as a beginner I was bit confused by the other videos. You explained it so clearly I actually understood it finally esp how the gusset works. Thank you!
does this dress work with the regency chemise and stays? or will they other regency dress pattern work best with those?
Yes, This dress can be worn over the regency stays and chemise. You will still want to create a mock-up of the dress / dress bodice and try it on over the stays to make sure everything is sitting correctly.
Honestly so well explained, thank you. Love how you were really clear and repeated things
Why did you not make neck casing on bias? It seems it would have more easily gone around the curve… Also curious as to why you did French seams instead of the traditional 5/8” seam?
Very likely because the neckline would be gathered with a drawstring, so it would not matter much. As for the French seam I would love to know, too.
Thank you!! This is the most clear and useful sewing tutorial I've ever watched.🤩
Ficou lindo.
I’m currently making this dress!!! And you made it really easy to follow, thanks! It’s a beautiful dress and the pattern it’s easy to understand. ✨✨
