This video and pattern is inspired by the many amazing and colorful outfits in the recent Barbie Movie. In this video I share how I made a bright pink dress and painted it for Weird Barbie. I also make a sleeveless dress and matching boxy jacket for Depression Barbie, and a Gingham dress which is inspired by Barbie's Perfect Day Gingham dress. But I also hope that this pattern will work as a starting point to creating many more fun fun outfits, doll inspired and more!
All 3 outfits are made using the same PDF pattern, which is in my Etsy shop and I have linked here in the description.
Weird Barbie's dress features a high neckline with puff sleeves and bias tape finished neckline.
Depression Barbie's outfit features a sleeveless dress with high neckline and ruffle, and a matching boxy jacket.
And Barbie's Gingham dress features a sleeveless bodice with a lower scooped neckline, and an extra full and pleated skirt.
All you need is 3-4 meters of fabric, a 60cm zipper, some bias tape for finishing and matching thread. Feel free to grab other notions too!

Materials Used:
Weird Barbie Doll
3 meters of white cotton blended fabric with a width of 55 inches
Dylon Dye in Flamingo Pink
60 cm zipper
Pink thread
50 cm of bias tape
I also used acrylic paint, paint brushed and permanent marker to decorate it like Weird Barbie!
Depression Barbie / Sad Doll
3 meters of blue and white striped cotton blended fabric with a width of 55 inches
Dylon Dye in Flamingo Pink
60 cm zipper
Pink thread
1 package of bias tape
Ribbon
I also used some leftover fabric from my Weird Doll dress to back the Jacket Front and Jacket Back pieces.
For Gingham Doll / Perfect Day Barbie
350 cm of pink and white gingham cotton fabric
40 cm zipper
Pink thread
1 package of double fold bias tape
I also made a matching belt from leftover gingham fabric, and hand stitched on two snaps and glued on some fake pearls.
I also used about 75cm of left over brown cotton blend fabric for the mock-up.
