  • @JayRays1truck
    @JayRays1truck6 ай бұрын

    The radio is doing well. It is okay at doing 1 thing at a time. You have to let it fully boot up before connecting your cable to your phone for using car play. The sound quality is good, but I also added a DSP in my truck so I have more control over the sound. I have the EQ on the radio flat since I am using the DSP. I would buy it again for the price, but when I get the money, I will probably upgrade to a nicer unit. I am looking at a Pioneer but it is around $1,500.

    🤣 You bought the marketing pitch, hook line and sinker. All these do is show how old the driver mentally is. The truck comes with four rubber grounding pads from the factory; they are called tires. If you have a static problem, its not the vehicle, it's your clothing, which can't be resolving with auto bolt-ons.

  • @JayRays1truck
    @JayRays1truck7 ай бұрын

    Actually, the four rubber pads you speak of are meant to isolate your vehicle from ground and make your ride smoother. But perhaps I’m wrong. We shall see. For $6 it’s worth a try.

    @@kookiedabearI’m not sure if this will do good or bad for my truck, but for $6 I’m going to find out. I don’t enjoy getting shocked when I get out of a vehicle so if this works I’m good. If it doesn’t help, I may remove it later. Who knows?

  • @TheCharleseye
    @TheCharleseye7 ай бұрын

    There are normally two screws in the grab handle area in a car/truck door (unless it's one with the grab strap). If you're touching one of the screws as you get out, you don't get shocked. Actually, if you're touching pretty much any metal surface as you get out, you're fine but the screws in the grab handle are conveniently located.

  • @JayRays1truck
    @JayRays1truck7 ай бұрын

    It has been my experience that most newer vehicles have those screws covered by a piece of plastic. Even my 2003 Ram has them covered and the whole grab handle is plastic. The Chevy work truck I’m currently in has plastic grab handles. The Ford work truck I used to drive was also the same.

  • @TheCharleseye
    @TheCharleseye7 ай бұрын

    @@JayRays1truck pulling a small piece of plastic out of an unseen area seems like an easier fix than attaching a grounding strap to the bottom of a vehicle. Hell, most people lose or break the covers the first time they take their door apart, anyway. That's how I happened to stumble upon this "fix" for getting zapped.

  • @JayRays1truck
    @JayRays1truck7 ай бұрын

    @@TheCharleseyeperhaps, but the bolts are well over an inch down inside that plastic on my truck. I had to use a small extension and socket to reach the bolts and my fingers are too large to fit in the holes that the bolts are in.

    Hows the rp and timing on yours? I run the same but rp is 1. Timing and torque 2. Ramps up too 20 no problem. Afraid to bump the rp more

  • @JayRays1truck
    @JayRays1truck8 ай бұрын

    I currently have my rail pressure at 2. Timing is at 3, and I am at Power level 5. What is ramping up to 20? Boost pressure? Do you mean 20K rail pressure? I have seen 36 psi boost and 29K rail pressure in my truck with no issues. If increasing pressure and adding timing, take note of how responsive your truck is and how much(if any) smoke comes out the tail pipe. If it starts to be more than a puff of black smoke when you hit the skinny pedal, you can back off on the rail pressure a little bit to clear it up.

  • @JayRays1truck
    @JayRays1truck8 ай бұрын

    Also, I have ran my truck tuned at power level 9 with RP at 3 and Torque at 3 before. Only issue is it blows black smoke quite a bit even without a load on my truck. If you do that, make sure you pay attention to your transmission temperature
