This video is about a 2015 Ram 1500 getting a muffler delete. It sounds so much better after the delete. It’s like it sounds the way a truck should.

The process:
I bought the pipes from AutoZone and made my own y-pipe to delete the muffler. I bought 2 pieces of 2.25” pipe and one piece of 3”. All pieces were 18” long. They ended up costing a little less than $35.00 total. The rest of the investment here was time. I believe this took my about 3 hours total.
**I try to be cautious when welding on any vehicle, so the first thing I did was disconnect the battery.**
I was very careful when making my cuts for the y-pipe. I started by cutting the ends of the 2.25” pieces at 60 degrees. Then I had to figure out where to cut them to make the straight pieces of the y be at 5” on center. Once I found out where I needed to cut that, I made a cut at 15 degrees and rotated the piece that was cut off 180 so it was straight. Then, I tack welded those pieces together to make sure they would fit on the truck correctly. After the test fit, I fully welded the 2.25” pieces and then checked to see where to make the cut so the 3” piece would fit on the Y. I did this by slowly smashing the end of the 3” pipe with my vise and checking to see if it fit just over the 2.25” pipes to create the Y shape that I needed. Once I had a nice, snug fit, I marked the 2.25” V shaped pipe that I now had at the junction of where the 3” pipe fit so I could cut it straight. After that was cut, I welded the 3” to the 2.25” piece and we were ready to install it in the truck. The muffler was cut out and this new Y was welded in it’s place.
Of course, after the welding was complete, I started the truck to test for leaks before removing the jack stands that were supporting the truck.
We are happy with the results. The “mid” muffler was deleted. We left the factory catalytic converters and resonators(in the rear) on this truck. It made it a bit louder as you will hear in the video.
