Don't know if you will remember me, but we worked together in Healy a couple years ago. Been looking into a smarty touch, was doing some research and came across your video. Couldn't believe who I saw lol, small world. Just wanted to say hey, thanks for the video, and thanks for helping us get our plant running again! Andrew LaBar

My wife loved it there. That job actually is where I got started with my first KZread video.

What about programming the trans too? Rearranging shift patterns, the valve body holds the higher pressure but the 48re is programmable with the right tunner. Get a temp gauge on that transmission, know what is going on. Half stepping will cost you more than jumping in with both feet. Once the damage is done you will always be playing catch up.

Yes, programming the transmission will help a lot also. I am running a Smarty Touch on my truck and one of the variables I monitor on it is the transmission temperature. I keep an eye on it all the time, especially when towing.

I might be buying an 05 Cummins this weekend and my worst fear is blowing that tranny out the first week I own it, cuz I ain't money bags and can't afford to just buy a Suncoast right now 🤣

As long as you don’t notice any slipping and the transmission fluid is red and doesn’t smell burnt, you should be fine. My truck has over 352,000 miles on it and it is an 03

@@jayraysdiy852 I didn't end up getting the truck but I always check all the fluids in stuff I go check out, the 05's was pretty dark and smelled like toasted clutch material so it was close to going I do believe.
