The main part of my channel is the Photography Playlist. I have a special interest in Micro Four Thirds system cameras, lenses and accessories because I find their particular blend of size, weight and image quality ideally suited to my needs. I have a wide experience of the system now and this coupled with my 40 years as a professional newspaper, magazine and studio photographer gives me a practical insight into their use.

I just left a comment on another of his videos. I hope content producers will study that video and appreciate the gift David left us in all his internet content. I hope to meet you in the next phase of existence David. Keep smiling!
David's reviews set the bar for this type of content. His first hand opinions are explained and illustrated. His points are clearly understood. He covers the subject in a manner that leaves a clear and complete story. His content doesn't contain worthless dribble like "I love how it feels", "awesome" and so on. He uses valid comparisons and demonstrates the difference in his content instead of "telling" them. Very well done sir!
After 10 years still learn a lot from you. I'm a late viewer, rest in peace, David. Thank you so much
Thank you
Wish they're still alive
Thank you
Hi , is this teleconverter working with Lumix G vario 45-200 mm with power ois ? If no are there any other teeconverter wotking with this lens ?
I find that the Canon 350D makes better and cleaner pictures. In fact I dont use the LX100 cos when I get home and look at the pictures I can hardly find anyone that I like.
RIP David Thorpe!!!! I still go back to your very pleasant informative helpful and humorous videos. They are all GEMS Every One or Them!!!!
I only discovered on Saturday that you are no longer with us. It's strange, I hadn't heard your distinctive voice for a long time and suddenly KZread displayed your video as a suggestion. I began watching your video and immediately I thought, I haven't heard that voice for ages. I then read the comments and your daughter's message re your passing. It came to quite a shock to me, a man who I didn't know, but whose voice I recognised immediately. I am saddened to hear the news and I wish your family well, even if it is a few years now. Rest in peace David ✝️
Thank you David.
I got this very bag from David when he was already poorly and still use it every single day whilst commuting in London... It reminds me of our time spent in assorted cafes, talking about gear, photojournalism, his career and mine. It was great to call David a friend.
Excelkent. Thanks!
David Thorpe RIP as your peerless reviews live on with immortality 🙏
Thank you for the review ! I didn't expect to see Carcassonne and what I believe to be the countryside nearby. Nice !
2024 is the year where one of Mr Thorpe's wishlist with Panasonic came true
Great review - we miss you David
I'm still hearing the S9 haters in my head, no hotshoe, no grip, no viewfinder, they crippled this camera.
Still the first video I'll click when I need to know about a lens ❤
What happened?! RIP
Still a wealth of knowledge for reference.
We all wish you’d had another lifetime David. Very much missed.
Always one of the best ambassadors for micro 4/3rds and a great content producer here. David's input and silky presentation will be greatly missed. Warmest wishes to his loved ones and thanx for sharing his time with us. ❤🩹
Always followed David. Miss his uniqueness when talking about cameras or lenses. A great guide, sadly missed.
I could almost cry. I loved his voice and delivery so much. I didn't get this camera back in the day, but may finally upgrade now...
Amazing work…what great videos
That was continue auto focus? Or david back to camera and half press the button?
Been away from photography for a few years and just learned that David has sadly passed. His channel really stood out from every other photography channel. To begin with, I found it a bit boring, I must admit, but it sure did grow on me. The low tempo was such a breeze, and I really enjoyed his work. David was a go-to and certainly one whose opinion mattered. He came across as a true British gentleman. If anything, my comment shows that this channel is still alive. David's words still resonate with heaps of people out there, and I'm sure I won't be the last person who'll get a bit blue learning David is no longer here. Rest in peace David.
Hi David, thanks for this video. I still have an old GF5. Is there a lifespan on these electronics? I can still shoot, but I am wary that it may conk out.
when i started watching his videos didnt even know he passed away.. he truly left a legacy, small but honest, RIP
Poignant and precise as always. Thanks David wherever you are. Thanks to the legacy team for keeping the channel online. 9:41 - legendary quips from the legend, once again
Very sorry …I thought he was great and did not know he passed
Good buy .. why r.i.p?
I’m going to start speaking like an English gentleman. Starting with the word “Pretty and Little.” Which neither contain the letter D. Only T. 💁🏻♀️. T T
Great review! Does the shutter release control through the touch screen also work with vintage lenses or only with dedicated micro 4/3 lenses?
What a classic! Love the conclusion!
Still not forgotten…. RIP David.
Wonder if you can still get away with that "Black dress" ending in 2024...? lol! Anywho, very nice review!
Didn"t know he passed away... Well, guess that will happen to all of us at some stage, now won"t it...
I love this video, and it's testamant to David that I'm still watching it all these years after his sad passing - and, it sintered me to buy the lens.
David is the reason I got into MFT, was definitely the best reviewer out there, I still haven't found anyone better. I was always looking forward to his new videos coming out back in the day. :(
I have both, I use the Pen F for Street Photography and the GX8 for landscape Photography.
Is the 10L version?
You are very missed.
10:30 Never occurred to me; very helpful tip! Cheers!
X pro1 x ever
I just love the wry remarks you make throughout your videos :)
Stick rocking mine in 2024. We miss you David. Hope you're flying high.
We miss you, David
9:24. See-through dress?! Thanks!
Rest in peace, David. You are sorely missed. I love this review.
