    I would like to see Fuji implement proper HDR modes in 10 bit HEIF, like Canon and Sony presently do. The image quality of these files (when viewed on a HDR screen is amazing, and a real improvement over JPEG. Imagine how great such files would look in conjunction with Fuji's film sims and 40MP of resolution! Other than this, Fuji really needs to fix their AF. I have an X-S10 and find false positive AF acquisition to be a consistent issue. Though my Panny GX9 isn't as nice a camera, it at least focusses reliably. I likely won't buy another Fuji camera until this issue is fixed for good.

    Thank you. I have this lens for my X-Pro2 but mainly use my 16-55 for travel images. However, watched a KZread by Mark Denney (spelling?) recently making an excellent case for using telephoto over wide for landscape and it resonated with me. So in future I think I’ll swop these 2 lenses for the different perspectives. Thanks again.

    I've had zero issues with build quality on any Fuji Camera, no issues with the X-T line, or the X100 VI, i had an X-T10 that after many years of use the rubber grip needed to be glued down but wasn't exactly a build quality issue. I very much doubt we will see a new sensor or processor before Fall 2025, as this generation is not even complete yet. If we see an X-Tx camera before fall 2025, it'll be small updates to the X-T5 (like the X-T4 was to the X-T3, pretty much just IBIS was added and a flippy screen) an X-T5s could be more likely as that could just be an X-T5 with the internals of the X-H2s, but it would have to move to a CF express B to take advantage of the video features and faster frame rate etc (or internal ssd, unlikely unfortunately) I doubt the X-Tx line will go past the $/£2000 price point just too much competition at that price point If we get an X-T6/5 mark 2 this year it'll be tweaks to the existing camera that is all in my opinion, more RAM, more cache things that may help with autofocus or add a feature (I think the X-T4 got 240FPS video where the X-T3 could only do 120FPS probably increased cache memory)

    Call me mad, but I really hope the X-E5 gets a tilting viewfinder like the Panasonic GX9. I own this camera, and find the tilting viewfinder a great feature, as my back isn't the best. It would also give the X-E5 a unique ergonomic attribute, like the X-T50's film sim dial. I don't find myself flipping the GX9's finder very often inadvertently, so providing the mechanism is designed suitably, it shouldn't cause a problem for those who don't plan to use it. I'd also hope to see the 40MP sensor for the biggest IQ benefit, as the camera will no doubt cost at least £1000, which is a lot of money for many (myself included). Besides that, I hope Fuji allows us to adjust functions like saturation, colour chrome effect and even WB independently for each film simulation, for better 'recipe' creation. IMO, the X-T50's film sim dial was just asking for this feature...

    its high time, @Fujifilm should focus more on their AF system rather than launching new cameras. they are in complete dellusion of making the best cameras in the market based on their film sim and color science, we should call this out so that they realise what the problem is rather than just higlighting the positives of camera. other wise there are plenty promising camera brands out there which are much more reliable.

    They had a nostalgia edge until recently but in talking with my retailer Fuji doesn’t get product out and they are sick of apologizing to consumers about it. So instead, Nikon sells another Zf which is on the shelves. And people are living the Zf. At one point I owned a GFX100 and then a 100S and loved the 16-bit images but it’s a lot of glass to lug around for some relatively narrow use cases. It’s not a bad camera company but the mystique wore off for me a while ago.

    Thanks! It depends on wether you mind the weight and size of the 16-55mm. It does have superb image quality, but often people enter the Fuji x system for the minimal and compact cameras and lenses. Maybe you should wait for the new 16-50mm that will come out together with the xt50. The great thing about that lens is that it doesn’t increase in size when zooming. Great for street photography in my opinion. Otherwise I’m quite happy with my 16-80 f4, as I have a lot of range for landscape and don’t really use low apertures anyway.

    Beautiful photos! Regarding knowing if you need more range based on where you zoom: taking the tendency to zoom all the way in as a sign that you need more tele is something you should be careful about. A lot of photographers (esp. amatours) have a tendency so use the zoom at it's extreme ends (wide and tele), but that doesn't have to mean you'd need more. Personally I often shot the XF 18-55mm at 55mm a lot of the time, but I highly doubt I'd actually need more than 50mm range wise. That said, I'm still interested in this lens myself, having OIS (I have no bodies with IBIS) and a marked aperture ring just seems so nice. For me it seems like the perfect all-in-one landscape lens and if I ever get properly into landscape photography I could see myself picking this up. That said, I won't do so unless I am completely sure I actually do need it. Currently I'm doing more event photography and portraits anyway.

  • @lukasbenjamin_
    @lukasbenjamin_Ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment, I agree often you don’t need more than the maximum focal length. I made it a habit of composing a shot through zooming all the way in and then slowly zooming out to see what I would like to include in my shot. I use this lens as well as the 70-300 for my landscape photography. I seldom need any wider focal length, but I realised the 70-300 is on my camera quite a lot, especially when shooting woodland.

    The features of an X-E5 will all depend on the price point. If Fuji release an X-T50 in an X-E5 body it will be priced the same. However, I think Fuji may go a different way and make the X-E5 the entry level £1000 body Fuji have pretty much said that with the 40MP IBIS is required, I'll not go into technical details here. As Fuji have managed to squeeze IBIS into the X100 VI it is possible (although maybe expensive) Fuji's 4.5/5th Gen line up currently (ignoring current price reductions, and X100VI) X-S20 - £1249 (4th gen sensor, 5th gen processor with IBIS) X-T50 - £1299 (5th gen HR sensor 5th gen processor with IBIS) X-T5 - £1699 (5th gen HR sensor 5th gen processor with IBIS) X-H2 - £1849 (5th gen HR sensor 5th gen processor with IBIS) X-H2s - £2499 (5th gen Stacked sensor 5th gen processor with IBIS) If the X-E5 is released as the new entry level (if £1000 is entry level) I could see it shipping with 4th gen 26MP sensor and 5th Gen Processor. Maybe to hit the price point it doesn't have IBIS it has UHS 1 sd card slot, and maybe only kit option is the XC 15-45 (which has stabilisation) If it is photo first, stabilisation is not a big deal at such short focal lengths, so if at 50mm to hand hold you'll need to keep your shutter speed above 1/60. If it is just an X-T50 in a different body, it'll be the same price, meaning to shoot on fuji outside of sales you'll need to part with £1249 as a minimum for a new camera. Canon, Sony, and Nikon have entry level cameras all available for half that price. I love my fuji cameras, but when i started i got an X-T10 for £500.00, granted now I have upgraded and use X-T5, X-T3s and X100 VI. But when i started out all those years ago, I would not have joined the fuji system with an entry level price of £1249

    I regret trading my 18-55 for the 16-80. The 16-80 is heavier and does not focus as quickly as the 18-55 did for me. Also, I miss the f/ range. I also have the 55-200 and the 70-300. I rarely use the 70-300 and usually carry the 55-200. And nothing worse than going for a quick shot and realizing the lock is on because you've been hiking and not wanting it to slip to its longer length. Granted, both are nice lenses and weather resistant. I still think the 18-55 and 55-200 is a nice combo. More and more I'm using my primes (14, 35, 50 so far) as they are lightweight and much better bokeh.

    IMO both are awesome combos! For myself the 16-18 and 70-300 is the the better combo simply because of WR and the fact that I don’t need lower f-stops. I never really shoot below f4 or f5.6, except for video and that I shoot on my 23mm f2 mostly.

    They could design a new kind of rangefinder style camera between xe and xpro larger than the xe based on the xe2 form and button layout of the xpro 2 no ovf just evf with 3.7 mp resolution and 23mm eye reliet ibis old batt but better life built in flash ala xe2 bounce able 8 gn at 100 iso same internals as xt4 + new film Sims from xt5 latest autofocus capabilities top build quality as xt4 xpro 2 basic compétant film making abilities like xt4 but emphasis on picture taking roll 3 way screen or like xt4 moulded hand grip like xe2 so best of both worlds between xe2 and xpro2 no ovf but modern internals call it xepro

    I would rather the next Fuji have the camera be like the Leica dlux, but with the APSC sensor instead of a 4/3 micro sensor. Also, I love the zoom on the Leica, 24-75. F 1.7 -2.8. This would make a perfect street photography camera! But they must have an EVF!

    I would like to see an X-E5 and a medium format version of the X100VI. I love my X-T5 and and my GFX100S. I really wish, though, that the GFX100S had an ISO dial instead of the PASM dial.

    I think a new version of the gfx50r could be very popular, but maybe the demand just isn’t as high as I think, after all I think a lot of people using the gfx do it for work, instead of as a hobby.

    @@lukasbenjamin_ Yes. I also liked my GFX50R and my GFX50SII. But when the X-T5 came out with 40MP sensor I sold them and bought the GFX100S.
