    I'd love it if Fuji released a truely pocketable camera like a new version of the X-70 or a compact zoom like the XQ2. Also congrats on reaching 1k subs!👍

    Good advice that the XE line is a good place to start in Fujifilm, as you say it's probably enough for most folks, but people tend to 'over buy' consumer products, paying for more features that they need or use. I too hope we see an XE 5 this year.

    I’m waiting on that XPro4 but an XE5 with IBIS would be nice (I mean, they’re adding one to the X100VI, wouldn’t hurt to make the XE line a bit more premium hehe and market it as an interchangeable-lens X100). Congrats on 1K 👏🏼

    The xpro4 is something I’m very curious to see. So much could happen with it. About a possible xe5 with ibis, would be great as you say, but I doubt they would go that way. I think the x100VI is just a more premium camera and I think they would be hesitant to include ibis in the xe5 or xt40 etc. and thanks a lot!

    I already have a XT-4 plus some lenses. Sometimes I would like to go out with a lighther camera. That's what the X-E5 would be for. It's a great second Fuji Camera!

    It’s the same for me, xt4 with lenses, but sometimes just a smaller and also cheaper camera, that I can take anywhere, without the fear of robbery. The xe line would be perfect for it, though likely an xe2 or 3 😬

    I have the X-T5 and the X100F as my EDC/back-up. I was thinking of replacing the X100F with the upcoming X100VI, but at $1600, I'd would proly pass. But an X-E5 would be ideal, pocketed with the XF27mm but able to use all the other lenses. Frankly, even if the only upgrade was weather sealing, it would be a done deal.

    That’s an awesome lineup you have there! I see why they priced it at 1600$ though, it’s because the market is unfortunately willing to pay for it. When did you get your x100f? As far as I know it’s going for more than the x100v msrp on the second hand market rn right? The xe5 with a 27mm lens would be the perfect setup, except the missing Weather sealing as you mentioned. Let’s see where they go with it !

    Thanks Lukas. Certainly makes sense given that they have some desireable small and/or inexpensive lenses. Also does any beginner really needs anything more than the a 24 or 26mpix sensor.? Still love my XE-2, but also want a higher mpix sensor...

    I’ve heard from some people still holding on to the 16mp xtrans1 sensor. Tbh as long as you’re happy with the quality everything is good. Personally I just want to be able to print my images and have them look formidable and on my 26MP xt4 they do!

    IMO the viewfinder in the X-E4 is too small...make one with a decent size viewfinder and I would definitely buy one.

    In body stabilisation and improved build quality would be too of my list over the X-Trans 5 sensor. Many cheaper cameras at entry level from other brands have IBIS and honestly the X-E4 build quality is pretty bad. After years of shooting Pentax, which have robust cameras bodies with great ergonomics I really thought I'd made a huge mistake buying the X-E4 as my first Fuji. Poor ergonomics and cheap, flimsy build was very disappointing even though I like the image quality a lot. I subsequently bought an old X-E1 which, while slow and clunky AF, is a much nicer camera to hold than its modern great grandchild

    Isn’t it time to upgrade their mirrorless cameras to Full Frame sensors? The sweet retro bodies would look so nice adapted to vintage lenses.

    They intentionally use the apsc system, to be able to keep the size of the lenses down. If you want to shoot Fuji with a bigger sensor, they have the gfx medium format system.

  • @jamescaldwell5

    @jamescaldwell5

    @@lukasbenjamin_ seems odd to me that they jumped past Full frame and went with medium format. IMO, if you’re trying to duplicate the classic experience of shooting with 35mm film, full frame is the way to go. You can use a vintage lens on an APSC sensor, but you won’t get the same “character” across your image as you would with the larger sensor.

    @@jamescaldwell5 tbh for them it’s was probably the simple business decision of looking at the 3 markets apsc, FF and MF. They now dominate two of them and don’t have to dump unholy amounts of cash to compete with Sony/nikon/Canon for market share in the ff segment.
