I highly doubt they would put a fully articulating screen on the XPro4. The XPro line has always been “photography first.” When they released the X-T5, they used this same tagline (photography first) and they purposely gave it a tilt screen. I think Fuji will go this route most likely with the XPro4 and it will be done identically to the X100V. I really like the screen design on the XPro3 but I imagine they lost out on a lot of sales with the decision to make the flip down screen. They won’t do this again.

That’s what I was thinking as well, but I think there’s a hardcore fanbase of the xpro3’s screen, that would like the successor to be able to close the screen. But as mentioned, it’s speculation. I think what both xpro3 screen lovers and tilt screen lovers can agree upon is, they both hate the flippy screen. But it might just be the only option to combine both designs.

@@lukasbenjamin_ SONY is the answer to the screen problem. Not that I really like Sony, but why on earth they can make a screen like that on A7RV and others, beside Panasonic, cannot do? Why this design isn't even a speculation? I think you are totally correct about who the "rangefinder" camera appeals to. I hope Fujifilm does not add a flip screen, or take away any of the attributes that a digital rangefinder offers. Of course there are plenty of Fujifilm cameras that will appeal to those that don't want to "slow down" and enjoy the process. It is difficult IMHO to explain to those that want a more modern take on a digital camera why the XPro line is so appealing to some.

I totally get it, i think slowing down the entire process makes it easier to actually create good images. It makes you think about what you’re shooting properly instead of having your auto settings and just jumping from one shot to another.

I for one love the screen on the XPro3, although when shooting portrait style, it would be nice if it was a two-way tilt. An XH1 style articulating screen would also be nice. Also, you don’t need to be able to close the screen against the back of the camera to reduce reliance on the screen. Leica has by far the best solution to this issue. They allow you to fully turn off the screen when shooting. You can then assign a custom button to toggle the screen on and off. I’d love to see Fuji do this, especially if they ditch the flip down screen.

That is amazing too, my xt4 actually has the ability, to switch ‚viewmodes‘, basically being able to shut the screen and only use the evf sensor. My gripe with that is, that my big nose will still smear the screen the entire time, but I guess on the rangefinder style camera that’s not actually a real problem, since the evf/ovf is on the side.

That is not a better solution, that's basically a function on most modern cameras. With a press of a button, you can easily turn the screen back on and the screen is not protected at all. I wish they'll announce the X-E5, hopefully with a D-Pad and possibly with IBIS, maybe even add the "M-C-S focusing modes" dial back in. This year they're already releasing the X100 mark six (whatever it'll be called) for the people who want that optical viewfinder "premium" rangefinder style camera, so idk if an even more niche camera like the X-Pro4 is a good idea since people looking for high end specs are probably already satisfied with the X-H2 or X-T5. Seeing as Fuji axed their entry level X-A line of cameras, a more accessible but new rangefinder style interchangeable lens camera sounds reasonable.

Truthfully, Fuji owners buying cameras to 'LOOK' like Leica's are people who obviously can't afford a Leica. ( Kia owners ). i once was one and June last year I moved from Fuji to Leica. Yes I was one of these people and believe me, the difference between each cameras I own is not comparable. They are unique cameras in their own respective genre. I do believe the XPro3 will become to the highly sought after Fuji now. The supposed XPro4 won't be the popular kid of the screen swivels like Sony cameras, it will be more of a turn off than the XPro3 screen. I initially purchased the XPro3 and love it heaps, but the truth is.....the XPRO's, 1,2 and 3 are poor mans Leica's.

I will not buy another Xpro camera until they upgrade their F2 lens. The new f1,4 lenses, although stellar, are simply too big for the Xpro body. If fuji upgrades their old F2 lenses, and give us an upgraded xpro4 with a better EVF, larger battery, and Ibis, this will be a home run.

Curious to hear, what would you like to have improved on the f2 lenses? I can only think of the close focusing blurriness on the 23mm f2. It’s not something that bugs me a lot though. I’m really looking forward to see how they go with the xpro4!

Might be, I enjoy the screen on my xt4, I just keep it shut when I don’t want to use it.

    No. It is a 2025 release - not a 2024 release.

I can tell you, with 100% certainty, there will be NO XPro 4 this year. Final answer!

I just saw the fujirumors video, as it turns out the xpro4 will apparently not be released in 2024 :-( it’s a real bummer…

If you reviewers could stop comparing Fuji to Leica and using click bait words such as "Leica killer" that would be great. Fuji is not Leica and hopefully do not stride to be. Leica is an overpriced hipster camera that certainly does not offer the quality nor features that can justify it's ridiculous price.

Hah, I actually had part of this topic filmed for this video, but decided to cut that out to not unnecessarily lengthen the video. I don’t think they will try to have this camera compete with leica. Tbh as much as I love Fuji, I don’t see how they could compete. What could they actually introduce to be able to sell a potential leica competitor for these horrendous prices?
