I just want Fuji to release an updated 18mm f/2. I hate the 16mm f/2.8 and the 18mm f/1.4 is absolutely massive so it ruins the shooting experience with the XPro3. If I’m going to shoot big, heavy lenses, I’m going to shoot full frame.

I would love a reworked 18mm prime lens that’s not too big. I think for travelling and street photography a 18 as well as a 35mm would be my dream combo. Currently I mostly just use my 23 :-)

What do you hate about the 16 2.8? I’m trying to find a compact and wide angle for my xs20 and this is one I’ve been looking up. Love my 13 1.4, but was hoping for something even smaller.

@@erinvz3270 It's not a 'bad' lens, per se. At least not in the sense that it does anything wrong. And it fits the part for being a compact, weather-resistant, affordable prime lens for the Fuji system. But (in 35mm equivalents) 24mm is an odd focal length for me. I started photography with a 28/50/85 kit, and later went to a 35/135 kit for 99% of my stuff, adding a 28mm back in later as I really like that field of view. I actually shot exclusively with 28mm for about 2 years. So for me, 24mm just feels really wide. It's harder for me to get a sort of 'environmental' shot with the 24 than it is with the 28 because I feel like the 24 distorts a little too much and makes it a little harder to control what's in the frame. A step forward or back fixes this in most instances, but I think the 28mm FOV is exactly right for me so the 24mm FOV never sticks in my kit.

you mentioned the 16-80 f4. I really wish they would give it a minor upgrade with a barrel lock and an aperture lock. gravity naturally elongates the lens while walking so I constantly have to twist it back into place. it's also very easy to move the aperture ring

Aperture Ring is really not gonna change itself unless you are really really really rough with your equipment, at least for my 16-80 f4. however the zoom telescopes out easily when the lens is pointing down due to gravity. for my lens it is very easy and it happens everytime it is pointed down now after a few years of use

Really hope you're right about the telephoto prime for the X-Mount system. The 70-300 and a 400mm F4 will be an awesome combination for sports/action/wildlife. Only concern is the price being really expensive:/. If so, Fringer have brought out new weather sealed versions of their adapters for Nikon and Canon lenses to be used on a Fuji body. Therefore, I'll look into a used under €1500 Nikon 500 F5.6 PF.

Fuji has to come with 400mm f/4 or 500 / 600 f/5.6 - 6.3 that would be around 1.5 kilograms and cost between 3 - 4 000 €. If they come with something bigger and pricier, it would make much more sense to go with Nikon... Nice video, but I think its high time for fuji to stop making variable aperture lens, in fact many camera manufacturers like Canon, Nikon, Sony & lens manufacturers like Tamron (28-105 f/4 would have better than 28-200 f/2.8-5.6) should stop making variable aperture standard zoom. These things aren't cheap they aren't worth for that high price. People buy APS-C or FF for better quality, having varible aperture kit lens hinder these in certain situations. Fuji should have design an better XF 16-70 f/4 & 70-270 f/4, also lighter 8-1 f/4. one of the reviewer showcased how Tamron 70-180 f/2.8 was sharper than Fuji's own XF 50-140 f/2.8 & its not cheap

I doubt Fuji will release a 400mm F/2.8... it would be massive and expensive, I'd like to see a 400mm F/4 with built in 1.4X tele (granted I doubt that will happen) but a 300mm F/4 would be good. The new Kit lens is exactly that it's a kit lens, I'm not going to go out and buy it, but if it is available for £/$100 more than body only when I buy my next camera I'd pick it up, OIS for photography at such short focal lengths is not a big deal (as only ever 2-3 stops) as you still need a tripod if you are using really long exposures. However the internal zoom is great for video shooters on a gimbal, the variable aperture not so much but an F/4.8 at 1/48 for video is serviceable if you are not wanting a super shallow DOF To be honest, I'm interested to see what Tamron & Sigma's plans for the X-mount are in 2024.

I think you are confusing IBIS with DIS here… there is no crop when the sensor is shifting, the full resolution is used. only digital image stabilization will incur a cropped image as its stabilization after the sensor has taken the image (video stabilization only for this one)

@@ritterkeks yeah, you're right. I've dig into this few days ago. But also it's happen that IBIS isn't a panacea! A decent OIS is better ( not talking about steadycams and gimbles) IMO. But you still need to move accurately.

The background noise/music is very annoying!

I try to always find a good balance between the background music not being too loud but still being somewhat audible, guess I missed the boat on this one.

Unfortunate but maybe you’ll find a better fit with another camera system :-)

You sound petulant and spoilt. You live in a time of tech marvels. All manufacturers produce equipment that would seem magical to our grandparents

Haha, for me it’s a strong yes, just want to see the IQ and I might switch. I’d love the small form factor for travelling. Ois isn’t all that important for me.
