The loss of OIS is pretty big for me.... All positives on the other stats but they won't matter if your photos are blurry due to camera shake

The current model does not resolve the 40 Mpixel sensor, according to Fuji. I hope that the next model will be improved with the 40 Mpixel sensor in mind. Last year I upgraded from my xt20 to the xt5, so the loss of the in lens image stabilisation doesn’t worry me. But if my only fuji camera would be a non-ibis model, then I wouldn’t upgrade to the new kit lens.

Actually quitting from fuji and one of reasons is lenses: - there is no good one for all compact lens. We've got 16-80 - it's great, but I wish it had longer angle for the weight. Next we've got 18-135 - that's good candidate, but it's old and I had 2 of them and both suffered from lens creep and wasn't perform well and feels quite heavy for performance. Nikon have awesome 24-200 lens and it not that big, I wish fuji had something similar. Actually stick to m43 14-140 because that's just unique lens for 260 gramms of weight it perform exceptionally well. - there is a Zoo of 35mm lens but I feel unhappy with every option: one too big, second have slow motor, another with slow aperture, next one plastic. There is just no balance for me, that's options without good one. - 27mm pancake slower in equal aperture then 20mm from m43. Though Sony just released 20-70 in almost the same size and weight as fuji 16-80, should I speak that FF lens massively better (f4 on FF is way better that f4 on crop)? You can also switch to aps-c crop mode and get almost the same long angle as with fuji lens and whole your FF system will stay compact enough to compete with fuji.

I feel like fujifilm does create impeccable lenses, but with those there is added weight and size, I think most people shoot Fuji not for the high IQ but rather for fun of shooting with their cameras. That’s my reason at least. I don’t think I would deal with their bigger, though high IQ lenses like the 50-140, 16-55 etc.

@@birjub9647 Just take a look on weight of fuji 18-135 that is 24-200 equivalent. You will find it weight's almost the same, but Nikon is FF lens and it's has better quality. And finally f3.5-5.6 on FF is much more than 3.5-5.6 on crop. Or take any sony A7C you can have 18-135 and use your camera in crop mode to have 24-200 reach. Once I got it - I started to sell all my fuji gear.

Great informational video. My go-to lens is the 16-55 2.8. Yes, it'e heavier and does not have OIS but I use it on my IBIS X-S20 and X-T5 and it is very sharp. I imagine this lens will compete with Sigma's 16-50 2.8. It is good that Fuji is upgrading some of their lenses.

This lens has 2 main drawbacks - No OIS and the lens having a f2.8-4.8 apature? how is this an update to the amazing 18-55 f2.8-f4 lens? The 18-55mm f2.8-f4 is still a better option. Sigma has a 18-55 f2.8 lens wich would be a much better option. The main reason people loved the 18-55 lens from fujifilm becase it had great spec and was built well - it has OIS, Liner motor for AF, F2.8 to f4 apature (which is amazing considering its kit). Fuji uses Liner motor for its higher priced lenses.

Fujifilm has been pandering too much to the travel and street photography crowd recently. Surely they must realize they're popular bodies for concerts and wildlife too, especially since Nikon completely stopped making professional APS-C cameras and had a mass exodus precisely TO Fujifilm. And we still don't have a 135mm F1.8 prime or faster which is the perfect lens for concert on APS-C, the closest thing is the Samyang 135mm F2 which isn't autofocus. At least Tamron is going to make a killing on the 17-70 F2.8...

I agree in part, yes they are pandering to street and travel photographers a lot, but I think that’s a good thing, I think that’s the bigger part of fujifilm users. But I see with their latest models like the xh2s and 150-600 that they are also getting into new territory, hopefully they’ll continue down that path.

Major disappointment the 16-50 is f4.8 and won’t have OIS… Fuji keeps making really dumb decisions with their lens releases.
