There are two ways to update a character... 1. Recolor them, but keep the shape. 2. Reshape them, but keep the colors. In rare cases when they do both we end up both it gets very confusing. G2 Smokescreen? G2 Sureshot? Machine Wars Soundwave?
[QUESTION] You mentioned that you watch more KZread and Streamers these days than TV - other than Gob the Goblin and Redclaw, is there anyone else that you would like to suggest we watch? (I'm omitting those two because I watch both of them already, but feel free to plug them too if you want 🤣)
I have the Galaxy Force version of this figure, and, even though I'm missing the cyber key and amongst all of my other figures and even third party figures, I have some great memories with this toy and I love him so much as my favorite Transformer of all time.

Aw man, one of the latest toys I’ve gotten is the first toy that landed in the flea market. Honestly, I thought it made for a pretty good Fulcrum from the IDW Scavengers.
It just occurred to me that the work mode has exactly ONE thing over the normal robot mode - it can Powerlinx on the legs without doing the splits.
Custom head, and Roadbuster becomes Autobot-at-Arms

Blades wasn't intended to be Blades. The color scheme was conceptualised first then the character was assigned second. Any difference or oddities to Blades not closely resembling the Protectobot toy is due to that.
TJ, I wasnt a fan of yours at first but after watching this video I have to say... you are a really good dude. I mean that. I'm a member of so many toxic fandoms. Star wars, lego, transformers, and am disgusted by my brothren daily on the innerwebs. I'm impressed, your opinions and statements are solid and you are what all fandom should emulate. there are not that many good humans out there, and you are one of them. keep it coming! gate keepers are the worst! i was an 80's G1 kid and one of my favorite lines was animated!

Acid storm is one of the greatest repaints and a deco that should have been reissued on the MP and the modern seeker mods, but they never did. Such a shame! He is a holy grail!

I am not a big fan of Evac. Out of the 4 Convoys in that series he is the one who feels the most like a generic Autobot to me. I usually don't like the repaints of that mold either. I don't think he works as Galvatron. Even as a SG heroic Galvatron it just doesn't work for me. Springer ALMOST looks good except he should be a triple changer and using this mold as that character strips away his car mode. Blades however is the best version of that mold. It actually works for the character and that color scheme makes the mold look so much better than any of the other color schemes. I actually love this repaint.
That Hardhead was a must-buy for me as he was the only Headmaster I had as a kid! As such, I bought the upgrade kit to make him a true Headmaster ASAP!

22:43 I’ll agree that the Special Edition Optimus Prime was not a great REPAINT, but it was a great figure nonetheless. The Megatron @17:15 was terrible though. He didn’t even have a proper arm canon. It looked like guns shot out of both his wrists or something.
If you're interested in the Toxitron Sideswipe, I did see four of them in the clearance area at a Walmart near me. Also Kingdom Red Alert was a Walgreens exclusive, and I've seen a few Walgreens that each have a different exclusive. One has three Red Alerts, there's one with a single Minerva, and a third with two Medix figures.

I completely agree about the Cybertron Evac mold, in fact, it would great to get all 3 repaints, Evac, Blades and Springer, creating a super trio of these helicopters! One of the best for sure! Maybe at some point I will get the proper red Powerglide instead of the grey I still have in my collection.

I’d say this was the forgotten era of CHUG, but one that I was very excited for at the time. These repaints marked the beginning of 3rd party add-ons and figures. I was very excited to get the Target 2-packs with Springer, Roadbuster, Dirge, and Ratbat. Countdown was a Toys R’ Us exclusive, and I couldn’t wait for that to arrive in the mail. The one figure I regret not getting was Nemesis Prime.

Funny thing is with Cybertron Blaster, it gives us the only example (that I know of) of a Laserbeak redeco that's an Autobot and not secretly evil like Sundor. I so want more stuff with Blockrock/Flashback.

Acid Storm’s fellow Rainmakers deserve the treatment they got in Universe 2. Give Ion Storm some Skydive-style lightning bolts on his wings and give Nova Storm some Kirby crackle and EarthSpark-inspired black to help break up all that yellow on her! I’m surprised the Cybertron Evac mold never got repainted into a G1ized Bayverse Blackout. Blaster retooled from Soundwave might be a relic of an era where HasTak cared less, but this and FOC Blaster are pretty neat as one-off variants of the character. Who invited Rufus the Hellhound to Universe 2? No seriously, they almost called Bruticus “Rufus the Hellhound”. Countdown absolutely rocks the First Gunner mold. Would love an homage to this figure sometime soon… Darkwing: condemned to be forever alone unless you have his brother from BotCon 2007. There’d BETTER be a Dirge repaint planned for United Starscream. Skywarp’s finally happening; why not throw some love to the pre-existing repaints of the original mold? Classics Mirage would look great in any color palette. Yes, even the canned G2 colors. *NOW’S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A DROPSHOT!* Hardhead from weird Onslaught is honestly brilliant. Just give him a more G1 noggin and he’d be perfect. We honestly need more non-Constructicon Decepticon construction vehicles, and between him and ROTF Deadlift/Dirt Boss and PCC Sledge/Steamhammer, Heavy Load wasn’t half bad. The spirit of OTFCC 2003 lives through Hot Spot! Buy two Optimus-colored Lios and you end up with perfect color cohesion with Cybertron Optimus. Buy accurate colored Lio for nostalgia… shame that was the best we had until 2017 with Legends Lio Convoy. Also, Optimus colors Lio came out first and accurate Lio was the Target exclusive. G2-style tank Megatron doesn’t look half bad in pure G1 colors. Huh. Also this release fixed Deluxe Classics Megs’s sdrawkcab legs. Hmmm… maybe SG Nemesis, perhaps? The lack of red/hot pink honestly makes him feel gentler than the average black convoy. First Gunner turned into Onslaught is pretty cute. Wouldn’t mind seeing a combiner torso version of him that turned into a missile carrier… You had bendy Prime, small bendy Prime… and now you have GEEWUN bendy Prime! The trilogy is complete! In all seriousness, I’d love a new Deluxe-size Armada Optimus if A-level ever comes to Generations. Basic Deluxe Optimus with spinny waist is basic. Next! “Uh, sure. This is totally for Bayverse synergy and not because I’m going through a mid-life crisis.” Overkill from Grimlock is just as brilliant as First Gunner-turned-Countdown. Now if only he had a Slug-turned-Slugfest retool to go with him… Finally, Overload is independent from being Optimus’s gun emplacement! He can be his own individual! Big Powerglide is best Powerglide. Why were only he and Seaspray embiggened while Cosmos got left out to dry? Honestly, Cybertron Sideways does a lot to help bring War Within Ratbat’s design to life. To quote the wiki, “I’m a repaint of Hot Shot? Primus help me!” “Roadbuster, what happened?” “I crashed into a TMNT turtle pie factory.” He exists. Story of Bluestreak’s life, honestly. Skyjack looks like he’s wearing a very tight speedo. Can’t unsee it now, can you? Smokescreen’s time in the hot tub made him the laughing stock of the Ark’s crew. Evac-turned-Springer: the one we have to thank for SG Galvatron being an Evac repaint. If I had a nickel for every time Starscream was the repaint of Thundercracker, I’d have three nickels. Guess who the other two were… LET THE GEEWUN FLOW!! Unfortunately for those hoping to complete the Decepticon Air Micromasters, this guy is your best option for an update to Stormcloud. Kinda like him being so big, though. Maybe he’s just a carrier for his little buddies now. Call it the Hot Rod factor. That added orange compliments Thrust’s usual colors surprisingly well. Treadbolt- the name HasTak only used thrice, but all three of their toys were nice. Should we call him “Vecturd Prime”?

Yea, I highly disagree with your placement of SE Megatron and Nemesis Prime. The Classics Megatron is bad enough to really pull down the benefit of such a nice paint job. So that’s down to retail/Bargain Bin. That Nemesis though… wow you’re doing my boy so badly… he’s meant to be a more G1-like version of Armada Nemesis, not Scourge. And yea he is great there… the blues actually make him feel more intimidating to me. The Red wouldn’t work on the mold or the character design. He’s a great Nemesis, better than a lot we have IMO.
Honestly, I like the translucent blue on Nemesis Prime's chest it gives more like he's a cold hearted bastard than red, but to each their own.
