As much as I like the idea of evil Terrans, I don't like how they called them "Chaos Terrans" and had them be a separate breed of inherently evil Terran. I'd rather they just be normal Terrans who made the choice to do bad things of their own free will because there's no way they'd all be good kids, not corrupted from birth by some kind of "chaos energy". After the first season made it clear how the Decepticons were just normal bots (albeit occasionally flawed) on the opposite side of a now-ended war, it's kind of disappointing to see them treat the Chaos Terrans as this always chaotic evil race that can never be trusted or redeemed.

THANK YOU. I was advocating for evil Terrans (specifically Decepticon-aligned Terrans) as far back as the first ten episodes because having them all be what amounted to Autobot juniors was extremely disappointing. In fact, my hopes for Season 2 were that the big energy wave from the end of Season 1 created a new batch of Terrans far from Witwicky. They get subjected to anti-Transformer prejudice and react… decidedly badly. Like “Megatron killing his supervisor in Megatron Origin” badly. This gets the attention of a local crew of Decepticons- Barricade, Swift, Smolder and Sledge; think an evil mirror to the Rescue Bots lads- who take them under their wing and educate them in the ways of Decepticonism. However, this backstory wouldn’t be revealed until halfway through the season because these “Deceptiterrans” had successfully infiltrated our Autobot/Terran/Megatron main cast. Cue the reveal and OH GOSH THE ANGST. But no. Instead we get Aldi brand Battletrap and a lazy Twitch recolor voiced by Robin Williams’s daughter.

I mean, S2P2 will probably bring them back and give them some kindness, but I'd wager still opting to be with the cons. Heck, maybe they always planned counterparts but course corrected because they failed the show. I just know there's fanfictions dedicated to fixing S2. Ironically I think episode 2 can stay as it is no matter what.

Fr. I think that too.
I guarantee you that Season 2 of EarthSpark is what it is because Hasbro got cold feet about committing to a show where the Decepticons weren’t the main villains as Season 1 was in production and decided to mandate that the Cons had to be the villains of Season 2 and onward. The low ratings and poor toy sales only hastened things, and that led to further mandates that resulted in Season 1’s most divisive elements being downplayed. And that’s a shame, because I’d love to have seen more of this show’s good guy Megatron. On that note, wouldn’t it have been great if some of the Decepticons remained loyal to Megatron while others sided with Starscream? Have the Megatron loyalists be those who are more buddy buddy with the Autobots and Terrans (Breakdown, Swindle and Hardtop); have Starscream get the ones who are more hostile (Nova Storm, Skywarp, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Frenzy, Ravage, and Shockwave). That would’ve done so much for this story, but no, we had to default to just “all non-Megatron Decepticons baaaad”.

I know, it makes so sad to see Earthspark have such a rough time. It had a fun premise for a kids show and for a story in general! It felt unique too show wise for the franchise without the “good people good and bad people bad” type of deal. And Megs being good in the show made it feel even more special since 90% of his other show incarnates are all evil, Starscream too, they were a breath of fresh air! And your idea of the deceptions splitting up would’ve made so much more sense with them going this route, since yeah I can see Starscream obviously not wanting to be around Megatron, especially with what he went through with him. But why characters like Breakdown? Don’t make all that much sense really. Real sad to see Earthspark suffer so much😞
I'm up to date and, kinda disappointed how they took Screamer in the finale NGL. Also, my personal note for S2E1 is "Break Dad" S2E2, love the lore building of Quintus.
I’m pretty sure Starscream is taking the shards to try and pull a TFP Megatron, turning Earth into a Decepticon paradise. Could be wrong though, only seen the first two episodes of the second season so far.

I saw it all. You're right. But his means to attempt it, oh that's the fun part.
This batch of episodes starting with a time-jump midway through a Shard Hunt, then immediately setting up a Quintesson arc, reads like the Shard Hunt was supposed to be a full season and the Quintesson arc was planned as season 3. If the show is ending after season 2 then it makes sense that they condensed them into 1 season.
That thumbnail 😂

I have a funny feeling that’s going to become a meme in the future.
It is entirely possible this is a course correction that started too late to affect Season 1, but was early enough to reshape the entirety of Season 2. It doesn't take long for higher ups to get concerned that a series isn't hitting as desired, and to panic on a retool that ultimately turns out to be worse than pointless as it fails to save the series while simultaneously sacrificing what might have made the series interesting to its existing fans.
@ArcheTelos

When has this kind of "course correction" ever actually saved a failing show? I've never seen it actually win back the fans that were turned off by the changes, only alienate the fans who enjoyed the show's uniqueness.
With One coming, and after S2P1, I definitely think S2P2 will explore the Quintussons.

The Quintessons reappearing Transformers Earthspark is awesome.
That first episode, I loved. I always love when a Transformers series gives the human characters something to do so they're not just in the way. BTW the exso-suit toys for Robbie and Mo kind of gave away her sudden change in hair style cause if you shine a light through the translucent part of the Helmet you can see that Mo's head sculpt matches her season 2 design. Though the toy suits don't really match their suits in the show. There's some details that are similar like the shape of their helmet visors but the toys give them this look of piloted mechas that makes them more on par with an actual Transformer while the show's design looks more more of the human sized suit more similar to the costume Kicker wore during Energon than the G1 style exso-suit of the toys. Maybe they'll get an upgrade to look more like the toys later in the season. Also funny enough that the first episode of season 2 of Beast Wars was also called Aftermath so now we have to be more specific which Season 2 Episode 1 Aftermath we're talking about. I also found it rather funny that this GIANT transformer came out of a TINY little puddle on the ground. Episode 2 I really didn't like so much. First off... not sure how you didn't make the connection between Quintus Prime and the Quintessons. I mean the design of the dude even looks like a Quintesson plus if you read the Covenant of Primus it literally says in the book that Quintus Prime used the Ember Stone to create the Quintessons. He also seeded the entire universe with Ember Stones to create life so technically he's also responsible for creating us. It also later goes on to say that some how the Quintessons got it backwards and thought they had created Cybertronians when really it was the other way around. I've never liked that explanation and really never liked Quintus Prime as I feel it contradicts my preferred origin for Transformers but that's not even the main reason I didn't like this episode. The Quintesson Executioner is lower on energy at the start of the episode and seems to sense the power of Quintus Prime emanating from the sleeve on Mo's arm. The thing that never made sense to me however is why he's he's hyper focused on Mo's Cybersleeve and completely ignoring other things that would also be associated with Quintus Prime like the cave water, Ember Shards, and the Terrans themselves. Even when Robbie gets involved later in the episode he is still hyper focused on Mo completely ignoring her brother who also has a Cybersleeve. It doesn't make sense why he would sense Quintus Prime's power in her Cybersleeve but not in anything or anyone else that shares that same power. It was really distracting and took me out of the whole episode. It is mentioned that the kids haven't been able to talk to Quintus Prime since the end of season 1 and Mo did have that experience with Quintus Prime showing her an alternate reality in the first season so maybe she has a stronger connection because of that? That's the only explanation I can come up with for why he's so hyper focused on her.
I know we're getting shard hunt plot again, but if the show had ideas more, I'd wanted to imagine seeing jhiaxsus make his animated debute, and i like the series still. What I'll say honestly when elita and skywarp are fighting, and i said "elita tag me in!" And in the scene, elita said "gatcha" I'd say,"So come here often 😏" and when jawbreaker headbuts her and picks me up, I'll tell her "call me" Don't question
I recently watched Transformers Earthspark Season 2 on Paramount Plus, and I do plan to watch it again.
Ngl, the first attempt, the hero failed, and the first quarter season finale (spoilers) refollow. The first part gave me sly 3 vibes bc that was a good idea in my point like a flashback

I have no idea why, but for the whole episode I was thinking of the monster from A Quiet Place
Idk with the time skip it feels like lots of details are skipped like the new powers or all of the decepticons fighting again. Like I thought we’d see the decepticons try to adapt to life on earth then some go rouge but no that story idea is just thrown out Also what happened to mandroid and his body like it’s he dead dead or the body just something I find odd that wasn’t brought up in the first batch
hey do you know the dark alex
First of all, Love your channel. I watch almost everyday. Quick question (if you see this, or if anyone else knows), you keep saying this is the first 10 episodes, like season 1. All of the promotional material I have seen just says season 2. Did you actually see something that confirms more episodes then these 10? Based on the ending (no spoilers) it feels like there won't be more, but I would love to be wrong. Anyway, thanks for all the videos.

Yeah usually Quintess stays around to guide the Quintessons I figure that once they were hinted at last season they’d be different
When will hasbro put the other episodes of earthspark on KZread
I feel like there could've been a better way to go back to status quo (which I have a theory that was a marching order from Paramount and Nickelodeon after the show's lackluster numbers, of course not realizing that was THEIR fault like most corporations' thought mentality goes) but make it more unique and flow better with season one. One theory I had was that more Decepticons had triangulated Megatron's location and had arrived to provide reinforcements only for them to discover that the war's over and Megs is buddy buddy with Prime now. Angered by this, the leader of this group, Thunderwing, establishes himself as the new leafer and he and the rest of the group (let's say Sixshot, Bludgeon, Nightbird, Apeface, Snapdragon, and Cyclonus) tell the remaining Decepticons "Alright, you guys have two options: Join us or die." Some like Shockwave and Soundwave do and some like Starscream and Breakdown defect to the Autobots. You can also still have them hunt for the shards of the Emberstone and create the Chaos Terrains once they find out it was here the whole time and keep the stuff for the Quintessons without changing them much.
@DetectiveBarricade
Ай бұрын
Interesting idea, though I'd kind of like Tarn as leader instead of Thunderwing. A ghost of Megatron's past in the form of a zealous super-soldier bot coming back to bite him in the tailpipe.
@JasonVoorhees2011
Ай бұрын
@@DetectiveBarricade Not a bad idea either, but I mostly went with Thunderwing because he's a character that's due to be in a TF series whereas Tarn recently was in Cyberverse. I usually like to give underutilized characters their due.
Actually, from stuff I’ve looked into the Deceptacon being just evil Again is probably a course correction from Hasbro Taking the wrong lessons of the show underperforming Not blaming they put it on a streaming Service but it changing things up
I mean hunting for shards/reliques is something transformers has fallen back on for decades it’s fine nothing bad
I did watch "Aftermath" and it hit me why I'm not liking this show. The main Transformers feel like secondary characters in their own show. would almost prefer a Bast Wars apporch where the whole cast is new characters because then I wouldn't be wondering what characters like Optimus are doing when we're focused on the Maltos.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about the massive animation downgrade for season 2. The animation in season 1 looked phenomenal and season 2's animation is stiff, lifeless and janky. The texture quality is down, character now stap rigidly between poses, they keep cutting away from the action to show something less intensive and they keep using slowmo to pad out the run time (like a ridiculous amount of it). Not to mention, in the first episode alone, I noticed multiple animation errors when I didn't notice any at all in the first season.

@@redthree603 It is, and it shows drastically. And it gets much worse after these episodes. There's an extra in the third episode whose face unnaturally distorts just to speak a line. That's shit you'd find in either Tim & Eric skit or a fan-made SFM comedy video. Not a Nickelodeon/Hasbro-funded cartoon.
After episode 2 of s2 I already refuse to continue the show, because HOLY COW THE WRITINGS ARE GARBAGE. Thrash and Mo found some kind of temple while they were just having fun and just stumble upon them. They enter the temple and stated that no one has ever found this temple before. You see the temple literally exposed by a gigantic hole a size of a football stadium, and the question is ; HOW IS NO ONE EVEN FIND THAT GIGANTIC HOLE NEAR THE WITWICKY TOWN??? THE TEMPLE IS VERY EXPOSED AND NO ONE FINDS IT?? ITS NOT EVEN BURIED AND ITS NOT EVEN IN A MOUNTAIN
