    This is exactly what I had decided to make my hanger with, 1/2" iron pipe! I hadn't thought about the joining tee on the end, but that's a great idea. If I can't find the wire hinge clamp, I'll order one online. I have my bench coming this week and thanks, also, for your Foredome SP recommendation, that's what I'll also get. I'm so jazzed, thanks so much for all the great advice!!

    A great demo on the video thank you for making it. I will give this a try I have made one before but its always fun to try out a different way of doing things. I think as a metalsmith one needs to keep an open mind to learning new ways to do creations . Awesome work

    Thanks I think I’m getting one of these tomorrow. Does all the water drain out? The drain tube looks like it’s not at the bottom of the machine. Is there a lot of rock residue inside where the blade is and how do you clean that? Any other videos about this machine?

  • @meshedesigns
    @meshedesigns Жыл бұрын

    You have to tilt the machine to drain all the water. It's easy and I like it. I've owned it now for almost 2 years. Rock residue, I clean every time I drain. It will collect like most tile or lapidary saws. Lapidary Dave has a video about this saw as well.

    @@meshedesigns Dave is the owner of Highland Park? I need to refurbish it and put it together and I’m not exactly handy. I hope I can figure it out. It was gifted to me by the son of a incredible lapidary maker.

    Do most people just use water in these saws? I know you say they do, but I'm reading otherwise online. I am thinking if ordering this saw but the coolant is an extra expense for sure.

  • @meshedesigns
    @meshedesigns2 жыл бұрын

    I use just water and you can use just water. I would recommend contacting the company to verify when I asked they said that was fine. You can also add a few drops of lubrication for the water I don't but I oil my saw blade when not in use.

    I’m so excited Michelle my daughter and I went to Home Depot for Mother’s Day and I bought everything except for one item to build this stand for my Fordham. For some reason Home Depot did not carry the wire hinge clamp anyway what I did was get some chain and a wide enough stainless steel cabinier so I can connect the handle of the motor to the stand. Now I’m in the process of drilling down my stand to the desk. I will send you a pic on your Instagram messages so you can see what I did. FYI now that it’s been what 10 years since she did this it cost $40 instead of $30. Of course we have to deal with inflation… thank you so much for this video because you’ve made my life so much more easier as well….. big hugs Michelle

    I enjoyed your tutorial videos and learned so much !! I cant believe its been so long that I watched those older tutorials! I also wondered why they didnt include a small brush with the blade butter. Will Pepe give you a lick to give you credit if we purchase? I am looking a ring bender setup. I did buy the disc cutter with the centering pointed pieces to make perfectly centered washer type rings with the silver and copper. Love it ! Thanks for the new video !

    It's been so long since I watched my older videos I'm releasing them back on my channel, I sound so young it really is nostalgic to watch. Thanks for sticking around for so long! I was always wondering about Pepe blade butter… Now I know… I use Otto Frei stay sharp lubricant and it works great with my sawblades which I also use Glardon Vallorbe saw blades and the lubricant works great with the saw blades. But I’m not very happy using their stay sharp lubricant with my burr bits… so I will definitely be trying Pepe Tools blade butter for my bur bits. I loved the example you showed using the sharpie on the silver metal and how easily the blade butter will remove your sharpie marker. Also regarding Rio‘s pickle I personally do not like it. I’m currently using it at the moment until I run out but I’m going back to Sparex No.2 pickle….Pepe Tools sells this At an amazing low price. Now I’ve never used Pepe Tools pickle before but you mentioned that they both work the same as Rio’s pickle…I will most definitely be going back to Sparex No.2 and I will buy it from Pepe Tools. If you ever get a chance Michelle you should try Sparex No.2 because that pickle in my opinion is the best pickle that I’ve used. Thank you so much for your honest and very helpful reviews. Autumn Michelle

    Very nice, thanks for posting. I'll use some of these ideas using smaller 1/2" black pipe size for a much smaller and lighter Wen rotary tool. Might use an idea I saw elsewhere, use a pipe clamp (Jorgenson, Irwin or Harbor Freight ) if you want the stand removable mounted on the edge of the workbench. My bench is an HCD and the rotary tool will be used only occasionally. Like your beefy version!

I wished I would’ve seen this video earlier because I would’ve asked you to look for Seaglass for me and I would’ve even paid you for it and I would trust you getting me real Seaglass because it’s so sad that it’s the Instagram Facebook it’s all flooded with fake Humbled Glass to look like Seaglass and then there’s this other Seaglass and it’s not Seaglass it’s made with resin or some other type of acrylic material anyway I bought some of that and I might be able to use it in a design but there’s no way I’m gonna tell people hey this is genuine Seaglass OK I think you look fabulous and you’re gonna look great in your colorful Bikini 🤗
