I really love all of your vlogs.. The tips and techniques are all great and have already proved useful at my bench...I completed my first stacking ring set yesterday...turned out phenominal...thanks to your tutorial.....anywayyy...I was wondering if you could do a short segment on the metals you use and a bit on your thoughts like..the whys and why not on how you selected the gauge and thickness of the metal you did. You kinda have some of this info included when you describe some of your pieces when preparing to make them. I'm thinkin a short vlog on the metals like your stacking ring tutorial...I little morre indepth and a few more speficis. Why you may ask, well I have a tendency to under size my metal gauges for larger items so when an item is completed it looks good but also looks like a lower cost item (mostly all silver, very little gold). I think you understand what I mean....i.e. big rings, larger stones...most any items that are more substantial in size. Your proportions look great..not bulky and not undersized, great finishes and professionally produced by hand. Possibly cover topics such as..ring shanks-round, half round, flat, pattererned , backplates, bezels, catches and clasps, cuffs, how you cast something in your studio, pendants, how to select an appropriate style and size of chain to go with each item. I know a lot of these items can be personal preference as well as what can your budget afford. I personally feel like I cheated myself when I make something that could have been great out of a slightly lesser priced metal gauge stock and have it turn out looking...well...not like and expensive, professional looking piece all because of a poor metal choice upfront. Also, possibly a little more on how you work with soldering your mixed metals fabrication... i.e. brass/silver...copper/silver etc....with any tips and pitfalls...Sorry for all the words..... :-/ I've been know to ramble...Thanks...Fletcher

Hi Michelle, Thanks for sharing your Vlogs and films. They are instructive and helpful as well as fun and enlightening! I too would love to hear your ideas about pricing and marketing. How do you work out your prices? How have you managed to "get yourself out there". It's a huge world and I feel so small :-) Thanks again, Emma

Ty for this Mich! So I've gotten so many great tips from you doll! My bezel def needs to be 24 or 26 guage for sure! 28 guage is way too flimsy for me. My question seems silly, but my seams still are not completely accurate before soldering. Esp bezel seems! The light shines through slightly. Any other tips for me? Ty

Love your videos. Thank you for sharing with us :) I was trying to find some videos on gold-filling, how it is actually done, but to na avail. Have you considered making videos on gold-filling and working with gold in general?

Michelle, in Vlog19 you discuss carving your own bezels from wax. Do you cast them or do you contract with someone to cast them for you. If you cast them, please consider producing a video similar to your stacking ring tutorial in the future reflecting the entire process starting with carving the bezel, casting the bezel, and ending with the tweaking of the stone seat for setting your stone. :-).

+Fletcher MacDonald I actually already had my Q&A filmed by the time I got your questions sorry! I outsource for casting, I don't have the space for casting at the moment, and don't really know if I would have the time at this point either. Once I get the waxes/molds/castings back I clean the castings and use for my line. But I would be happy to do a video maybe in the future regarding the process that I do when wax carving a setting.

+meshedesigns Thanks Michelle for your reply. I hope you had an awesome Holiday both for yourself personally and for the business. A vlog segment on how you go about wax carving a setting would be very interesting. I would probably try to apply some of the same techniques you used on the ring to wax carving and casting my own bezels (I plan on using the Delft method). As always...I'm inspired by your videos and look forward to the next one. Every topic you have covered has been very useful (even the ones on facial scrubs..I share that info with my wife). Inspired Again... Fletcher

What is it that you actually give to the caster? Have you made the tree or do you just give him one wax carving or?

New updated question...On the small cabs like 3,4 and 5mm have you ever tried the silver tubing? If so what are your thoughts? I'm just going to be starting to try and set these and so far have only the bezel mandrel you suggested and plenty of different bezel wires but just wondering about the tubing? Thanks for all you do! I have learned something from ALL your vlogs :)

Can you show how to solder bezels for gemstones without back. For jewelry like Ipxxxlita bangles? I love the way her bezzled gemstones flow into the bangles.

MeShe, love your vlogs, advice, reviews, etc. I do not have a twitter account. I sent you a message a few days ago, in regards to ox finish on jewelry. How do you preserve the finish, and do you use LOS or Jax type colourants? Please advise. Many Thanks, I am a big fan in Canada, regards

Love the videos and tips. Can you refer us to a good supplier of gemstones? We have bought several form Rio but find their selection somewhat limited. Our usual suppliers only handle B grade and below. Have looked on line but there are so many that it becomes mind boggling. Looking for A/AAA grade but also prices and customer service. Thanks!
