This is exactly what I had decided to make my hanger with, 1/2" iron pipe! I hadn't thought about the joining tee on the end, but that's a great idea. If I can't find the wire hinge clamp, I'll order one online. I have my bench coming this week and thanks, also, for your Foredome SP recommendation, that's what I'll also get. I'm so jazzed, thanks so much for all the great advice!!

I’m so excited Michelle my daughter and I went to Home Depot for Mother’s Day and I bought everything except for one item to build this stand for my Fordham. For some reason Home Depot did not carry the wire hinge clamp anyway what I did was get some chain and a wide enough stainless steel cabinier so I can connect the handle of the motor to the stand. Now I’m in the process of drilling down my stand to the desk. I will send you a pic on your Instagram messages so you can see what I did. FYI now that it’s been what 10 years since she did this it cost $40 instead of $30. Of course we have to deal with inflation… thank you so much for this video because you’ve made my life so much more easier as well….. big hugs Michelle

Cool, I have the same type of pipe stand, except I bought smaller length pipe sections so I could add more tee fittings and have more arms on it to hang my saws, optivisor and other things.

Very nice, thanks for posting. I'll use some of these ideas using smaller 1/2" black pipe size for a much smaller and lighter Wen rotary tool. Might use an idea I saw elsewhere, use a pipe clamp (Jorgenson, Irwin or Harbor Freight ) if you want the stand removable mounted on the edge of the workbench. My bench is an HCD and the rotary tool will be used only occasionally. Like your beefy version!

You’re great! And great video! I’m gonna see if I can make an adaptation since I don’t currently have a bench to screw it onto. Really appreciate your simple straightforward approach! Thank you!! (Found you after I unpacked a total piece of sh!t hanger.)

Love this! So helpful thank you! I have such a ghetto set up right now XD I especially love that no power tools are required, just assemble, attach to bench and go.

thank you SO much for posting this! i have the same stand you did & mine broke in the same exact way. bent the handle on the flex shaft just like yours, but he's still working - thank goodness. i got a lot of my tools secondhand from a guy who sold me his entire shop - so I knew it was a matter of time for the stand. i'm getting the supplies to make a DIY stand this weekend!

Fantastic idea! Thanks for the tip I have been using a bent plant hanger on the side of the bench, which is totally not sturdy, I think I will do something like it and I'm glad you said the manufactured one is crap. I was thinking of getting one.

I am making this too! Another great jewelry bench DIY I did this week was to buy a couple (2) of those metal rack style wine glass holders -the kind that you screw under your cabinets and slide the wine glass stem in- , I screwed them in horizontally against the face of my bench on either side of my pin, just a couple inches below it. Perfect for holding pliers right where I need them!!! They were $5.99 at Lowe's (probably HD too). I'll attempt a DIY video if I can borrow a camera.......thanks MeShe - you ROCK (GEM)!
