Thank you sooooo much for this recipe. I tweaked it bit because a family member dont like the coconut husk and i used active yeast so i had to cut down a bit on the coconut milk. Its my first time and it was delish!

Hi, you can try using what is available to you. In Trinidad we use the yellow split peas-dhal in this recipe.

Try the vinegar, that makes it silky. And keep it wrapped up as soon as it’s finished cooking so the steam will keep it soft. 😊

Ma'am, what you've made is NOT Gulab Jamun, but fat Kurma! You all have your methai names mixed up! Gulab Jamun does NOT have that shape, nor texture!

I was disappointed the measurements are not accurate. I measured using actual measuring cups. I wonder if she just used any cup in her house. Did not work for me.

I usually use cookeen/vegetable shortening and butter or margarine. Ghee can also be used. This gives the best results 😉
