Boring, boring, boring race. I love F1 but this track is not suitable for the current F1 cars. Other than the A graders passing the B graders what overtaking took place. F1 seems to be losing the plot. Time to toss the electric motors away, reduce the weight of the cars and get back to V10s and go MOTOR racing.

I miss Peter on the broadcast. I recall Lewis telling him once “You ask the best questions” when asking about the car, rather than his love life. It’s a shame that RB is so dominant, it would be far more exciting if there were 3 teams and 6 drivers racing for the win, rather than hoping Max breaks or there’s a safety car.

Lando is at the threshold. It’s easy to follow the Leader, he obviously has the pace. The only difference now is, believing in himself. Once he makes that final step, Verstappen will have some competition.. racing is also a mental skill.. It makes no difference if you believe you can do it, or you can’t do it, you’re right

Self belief / confidence isn't an issue from 1st to last place on the grid. They all have that belief some have cars that can elevate that belief and others don't. Lando has always had the belief its only now he's got a car that can help him deliver his confidence on track. Well, a car that is very close to matching that of Max

Lando was not even close enough to even try a single sniff for an overtake. Saying that Max had to fight, without even a single attempt to defend or overtake, oh come on... Media trying to hype like we witnessed some pinnacle of racing. While someone like Oscar been breathing down Sainz neck for how many laps? being basically 0.500s behind putting real pressure.

The reason they say Piastri penalty will be applied at the next race is to ensure the penalty will be applied should a driver not start the race at all. They always use such wording. I believe Button still has an outstanding grid penalty.

We absolutely loved your brilliant comment (in your 'sun glasses', 45 minute shared analysis podcast) where you suggested that the FIA / F1 management team asked the RB team to 'Sandbag' this weekend to increase F1 viewer ratings. Ha-ha

Time to shake up the Circuit choice, its time they compete and update the tracks choices by offering more and more circuits. Status quo makes people complacent.

It’s no easy task to be number two to the best driver of the current generation, and yet, Checo has been the best team mate Max has ever had. Something to think about.

Please explain to me - a victim of more than 50 years of the abortion that keeps encompassing the F1 world. You are now quoted as Max is the driver of His era! What era is that? The latest gong show of Liberty Media, The management of Liberty Media? the deliberate interference of Lewis becoming the 8 time WC? The driving style of Max that has resulted in previous drivers facing inumerable penalties, fines, or sanctions. Yes Max is quick... but so are many others in much lesser cars. There is one who is notably better by His record who is still driving and not so "controversial" as to risk others lives deliberately. Max... is a poser and is the product of a borderline psychopath! And that is you position 3 x WC and better than the one who earned 8WC's interesting!

What happened to Aston Martin (Alonso)? Another big update that didn't seem to work. Last year the same thing happened (later in the season)...they seem to have an issue with the CFD simulations or wind tunnel correlating with the car on the track...

Lando and Oscar are the best for F1 and I wish that other young drivers could find seats. There are several drivers that have achieved little and will never achieve. Wish they would move on and get fresh young talent in.

We need to see the data. If the tyres were such an issue for Max how come he could suddenly post lap times within a whisker of his fastest lap the moment Lando got close? I'm not buying it without proper analysis of the data.

  • @AntonHu
    @AntonHu2 күн бұрын

The excuse for bringing Russell in was that his tyres would be finished before the end of the race, but is that supported by the times? Maybe Mercedes just wanted to get the extra point for fastest lap, which meant bringing Russell in; had they brought Hamilton in, he'd have finished behind Perez..

Hi Peter, I've just found your channel and subscribed. This is a great video with level-headed commentary. Do you think the success of Yuki's undercut played a part in the pit strategies? I guessed that the good teams would follow suit with an early pit and naturally Ferrari being allergic to good advice would stay out longer, and lo and behold they did and Sainz went backwards.

Is there even a remote possibility that the 2026 regulation cycle could be pushed back to 2027 - i suspect we would have two years of very competitive racing and that McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull would support a delay - granted Aston Martin probably wants a works engine and Mercedes wants to exit this regulation cycle yesterday

Max Verstappen is Michael Jordan in a Formula One car, he is clutch. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect anyone else “SirLewis” it just means I can see what’s clearly in front of me. Little disclaimer for the #LH people before they lose their minds on me…..

Max didn’t have the faster sector 2 or 3 of the qualifying, only in 1, the math says the tow helped enough to get the poll, Max gets a lot of tows in Qualifying over the last couple years, their strategy has been spot on for this. Other teams could do the same..if they really wanted too..

Action pack race? obviously not Tension filled race? sort of. It's like watching a tight rope walker and you are anxious about whether he would screw up or not. Walking by itself is not entertaining, but I guess many people find thrill seeing someone walks about when there is a serious consequence if he fails.

Love the analysis as always Peter thanks for the reports. Agreed on most points, the new commentary was terrible. They made a mistake shortening the DRS this year though, and only did cause teams complained it was too powerful and too many overtakes on the straight. They'll probably split the difference next year. Love Imola and all the drivers seem to enjoy it too. Other than butt hurt sore loser Checo....

An interesting comment by Andrea Stella about Lando that he has become a bit of a master at tyre management and that is a key component of Landos success and now he has that belief that he can win races. Horner commneted on two drivers Max and Lando at the top of their game. Great drive of course by Max and the win lets hope its gloves off for the rest of the season.
