F1 Saudi Arabian GP Thursday analysis by Peter Windsor
Спорт
Fernando! The Spanish Aston driver was P1 on Thursday in Jeddah - quickest of all in the Pirelli soft tyre (one-lap) runs in FP2. It was a slightly different story when fuel was added to the cars, and teams like Aston, Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari bolted on the yellow Pirelli mediums - but there's no doubt that the Alonso-Aston combination is looking head-on at a strong weekend. George Russell was his usual ultra-spectacular self on light fuel in the oversteery Mercedes - while Max Verstappen, on the softs, was P3 but convincingly quickest with fuel on board. Peter Windsor in this video offers his thoughts on the day's proceedings.

To show the absolute ridiculousness of some 'journalists', Jalopnik writer Elizabeth Blackstock was quite affronted that Red Bull Racing had dared to suspend the employee on International Women's Day...🤣🤣🤡🤣 These woke writers with an agenda should be permanently banned from ever gaining access to a Formula 1 paddock again, for the sake of our sport....
Max was fastest by far in the long run. If nothing weird happens another win for Max on Saturday.

If it is just straight forward yes, but might get some safetycars or even code reds on this mickey mouse track. Then it can go anywhere.
The only f1 media I feel I can trust these days. No celebrities, no drama (real or fake), no sensationalism. Just one person truly passionate about the sport giving the rest of us a balanced view of the technical side a driver side.

I agree. Blind track. I just want everyone to finish safe.
Amazing work.. please continue..
These blind corners worry me. They do need to improve the visibility, if possible. Someone is going to get hurt. And before someone calls me a cupcake, you have no idea how fast and how on the edge I have driven on track.
Always the content and delivery totally 'in sync'. A real pleasure for a lover of F1 racing.
Good lap time for Alonso, but based on the improvement we saw in Bahrain my guess is that the pole time will be a 1:27.8 maybe 1:27.7

Alonso was good but i.m afraid for him that Max his engine wasn.t on full power. Max his long runs were outstanding,Perez and Leclerc also looking good but i guess the Dutch anthem will be played on Saturday. For me as a long time Dutch F1 fan satisfying but for other fans i understand that it could be a boring season.I don.t look at it that way.I recognize the outstanding qualities and skills Max has.And again Peter, thanx for your very wise and professionel comments. No gossip about the problems within RB. It hurts to see all the gossip on social media, often not verified at all.Thank god Peter,s channel is free from this.Thanx.

Absolutely beautiful to see Lewis nót being fast. Only after many World Titles you learn you don’t necessarily have to go for a gap anymore.
Hi Peter Great post as usual. Just to assist, the engineers appear to be calling the Visa cash app Red Bull team VCARB . Hope this helps 😎
A fast track with fast corners is best, it challenges driver skills to the limit. Of course blind corners are not good but surely that could be fixed to some degree.
@Karma2Babylon

Blind corners are great but i agree a fix could make them greater
Peter, we are colloquially referring to the Visa-Cash App-Red Bull cars as “V-CARB” if that helps you, one of the rare times the acronym is far greater than the actual name. Cheers!
Why cant the cars have some sort of proximity sensor that triggers a warning light or an audible warning when they are approaching another much slower car at speed? this sensor need only trigger when there is a certain speed differential within a certain distance - enough to give the driver enough lead time to make adjustment. Given all the technology we have today, surely this is well within electronics / engineering capabilities and such a system wouldn't add too much weight to the car?
Hi Peter, I think the last lap done by Charles was a 33.8 not a 38.3 - This was reported by a few pages.
Hi guys.I was looking at practices and mercedes BACK WING is moving down on hi speed alot. Definitely something to take a look at.
Hi Peter, I believe the 1:38.3 you have for Leclerc there was actually a 1:33.8
Slight correction: Leclerc's last lap on his long run was a 33.8, NOT a 38.3.

A measure of a driver isn’t only reflected in all-time results. The driver-team synchronicity largely rules that metric. What of the other greats who could be easily glossed over by such a myopic outlook? Tom Pryce, Stirling Moss and the like? Even with that said, Alonso’s competitive longevity is beyond question, and even going down your route, any driver with over 100 needs to be considered as a true great.
Jeddah is the race track that every track should be risky and that's what F1 is about.
Better that Sky News👍
bring back the chapters!!
Max was 6th after FP2 in Bahrain. Hard to see him anything but out the front this weekend. Looking forward to good racing and jousting from the other 17 drivers. Alpine 🤦♂
Why don’t people use V.C.A. to refer to VCARB?
Very possible.
I enjoying watching the cars round this track but I can't help feel there's going to be A huge crash eventually at this track
The Jedda circuit is an accident waiting to happen. They’ll change it AFTER a horrible crash. 🤦♂️

Lewis had his 5 MB WC with Rosberg taking one in between, thats all just car related. look at the Q times over all those years, even vs Bottas FCOL?
Whats the outro music name ?
Could it be possible McLaren is saving engines because they know they won’t be competitive? Speed seems super slow for Mercedes engine
If top speed were the determining factor, HAAS would be very near the top of the championship. If this is the direction Russell is chasing, I'm not confident of his position at the end of the race.
Fast blind corner tracks aren't my favorite. People may hate Monaco, but it's not that fast so even though there are crashes the consequences are usually just a lot of debris and curses.
Why don't they split it up in 2 sessions, a lot less traffic and a lot safer, take the fastest time, they go to the next round, and it give the spectators more value for there money , what is more important, a major crash or good racing , then in the main race they all can go crazy.
lewis was not happy. FP1/2 not been good. Alonso looks very comfortable. I hope AM can get in the mix. Max looked glued to the road. Scary long runs.
Hamilton should’ve got a grid penalty for his blocking today. Unacceptable.

Im not trying to be a spoiler but when everyone can see that the numbers of cars is dangerous on this circuit during quali and practice. Surely just hoping to get through the weekend is negligent. A serious accident will happen...
Fernando don't give me hope yet again 😢
i think for last Lec time its not 38.3 its 33.8

Itls just RB. or Racing Bull. That's what everyone calls it.
Leclerc last lap was 33.8 not 38.3
Surely its not that difficult to have one person in the team paying total concentration to the car in front of their driver, and another maybe even for the one in front of that. It’s not like they need to do that for every race, but the idea that a team can’t give their drivers an instant headsup when something happens seems to me just incompetence.

Thanks for leaving out the Soap Opera garbage and staying on topic. I think Max has the winning car IF he can stay away from someone doing something stupid. I think his good fortune might run out tomorrow with an error by someone in the pits or on track. Too many chances, on this circuit, for an unforced error.
we all know what will happen on Sunday again - Max drives away. Only safety cars (most likely in Jeddah) will or can make it strategical and interesting race from a pitstop point of view.
