i would have liked the northman more if it skipped the fantasy aspect. its a common trope of vikings he should have skipped.
@@benjaminbjrklund743 I get that. I think sometimes those aspects can diminish the severity of reality and pull the audience out a little. Whereas staying grounded in the present makes it more immersive.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE true.. "add a dream, lose a reader"... it takes away momentum from the narrative
Looks promising 😊

Looks good. It's such a great story that I am hoping for the best.
@@markbeck8384 it's always an expensive from Eggers so hopefully this will be his masterpiece 🤞
I think there are two separate xenos. The one emerging has the brownish all smooth dome that looks like classic big chap ( I hope!). The one at the end has a completely different anatomy than big chap- bigger jaws, black partial dome, like 'Aliens' drones). We know there is at least one face hugger impregnation that produces a xeno. The scarring could be from events in the film?
I believe the latter Xeno could be an altered alien from experiments but we shall see. I have some new info regarding the cocoon opening so hopefully I'll get that uploaded in the next couple of days. There do seem to be varying types of xenos as you say though 👍
love this theory- especially seeing the head emerge with fingers around it - and what appears to be big chaps head- which appears different from the xeno we see at the end (and then seeing the 1979 footage where the body is intact even after the thrusters hit it and it floats away)
@@erikthomas2090 it was a fun theory to write, made even more so now that we have high res versions of the films to analyse 👍
The tether staying attached to the Alien is unlikely because of its acid blood. It's only a matter of seconds before the acid eats away the metal of the hook or line. It's a miracle it lasted as long a it did

@@grahamrich3368 thanks buddy. Yeah, I'm also a lover of this franchise, even some of the games as well. This universe is full of atmosphere and haunting imagery.
I'm sorry, but the "somehow big chap returned" storyline, if true, will be laugh-out-loud-stupid. I will never watch another Alien film again if this is the way Alvarez decided to continue the story.
@@themidnightchoir there is further information on this from a Q&A yesterday. I won't spoiler as I'm putting together a spoiler vid for anyone interested in learning about exactly what the creature coming out of the cocoon is. But that aside, there is more evidence from leaks that the remains of big chap may be featured, but unlikely for him to be alive in the film. I have no idea but I understand your feelings on this but for me I think I've just grown numb to the idea now, not that that's a good thing at all...
The gun shouldn't mean anything because Vasquez and Aliens uses a handgun and it shoots through the alien's head
@@masonjames7308 it shot through the weaker part of the head that wasn't a solid dome but I can't remember what I said in the video that you are referring to haha!
The only problem in the whole series is that where did the derelict ship come from LV 426 because the eggs we are to be told that David is the creator of the eggs themselves but he did not have another ship and his ship was still left on the engineers Planet at the end of Covenant
@@masonjames7308 that's the true mystery right? The LV 426 derelict was a different ship and potentially it crashed a long time ago. Not to mention the humanoid was vastly bigger than an engineer. How those eggs were created and what burst out of the Space jockeys chest is a mystery I think of a lot 🤔
Speaking of Ancient Evil tropes, have you ever seen The Ritual? Extremely atmospheric and unsettling movie
Oh man. I used to have a thing about Found Footage films for a long time. Seems to be less of them right now but The Ritual was one I was crazy about seeing. A friend of mine said it was awful but I highly doubted him and boy was he wrong ;) I was an odd film but the horror and stress of the first half was spot on in terms of what makes found footage so effective, it realism etc. Not my most favourite FF movie but a great addition. Trap is more of a Thriller than a horror movie!
@@AugustBurnsRedRyan you may be right. I just thought it was worth mentioning as it may turn out to be a great watch.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I’m worried about Speak No Evil remake because Blumhouse hasn’t been having a good track record of making good horror movies!
@@AugustBurnsRedRyan Blumhouse make a lot of stuff I never feel like watching to be honest. But sometimes they knock it out of the park, particularly with The Invisible Man remake. Otherwise, most of their catalogue has many of the modern visual perks but sadly lacking in creative ideas.
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I’ll tell you whats my list I’m looking forward into my top 5 anticipated horror movies are 1. Longlegs 2. Alien: Romulus 3. Speak No Evil 4. Smile 2 5. Nosferatu
@@AugustBurnsRedRyan The original Speak No Evil was kind of underwhelming. It actually could benefit from a dumb Hollywood 'crank the good parts up to 11' remake tbh.
In one of the recent novels - Alien: Out of the Shadows - the Narcissus docks with mining vessel The Marion, in orbit around the planet LV-178, which has discovered the remains of an ancient, extinct extra-terrestrial civilisation that was destroyed by a xenomorph infestation, and then which manage to get aboard The Marion as well. During the events of the novel, it transpires that Ash had managed to upload his conciousness to the Narcissus' computer systems, and is actively trying to complete his mission by bringing the Narcissus into further contact with the xenomorphs. Ripley is brought out of hypersleep and assists the crew of the Marion in seeing off the Aliens before being put back into hypersleep, with her memory of the events aboard the Marion lost. However, given that Ripley and one of the Marion's crew both board and disembark the Narcissus, it makes no sense that the grappling gun Ripley used at the climax of the original movie would still be there however many years later when the ship is intercepted by the salvage crew at the tart of Aliens.
I must read or listen to this soon as it sounds great. Was the grappling gun wedged in the door not mentioned at all in the novel?
When it says 'they grow rapidly' How? Is it like the b.s Marvel stuff where they have unlimited matter from nowhere? Possibilities: 1 The tubes let them take carbon from the air and form it into carbon fibre of sorts. 2 They dissolve the surrounding materials like rock and metal from the ship (then slurp it up - see The Fly) making their teeth metal and skin harder. 3 both. Is there an official take?
Great ideas buddy. I would bet money that no director has ever thought on this as much as the fans, therefore an explanation may only be found in comics and novels if it has even been explored at all. I like your theory about breaking down components in that vicinity to utilize as matter and energy though 👍👍👍
Longlegs... Daddy longlegs; cool, so Nick Cage is demented Dad. Solved!
A demented Cage is always worth a watch 👌
My theory is that the Romulus crew picked up debris of the Nostromo, which included Ripley/Jonesy escape pod and due to the fact that Zeno's can multiply and grow very quickly, didn't have time to examine its contents fully to discover Ripley/Jonesy. I also agree that since android Ash was evil and withheld secrets from the rest of the crew, its possible he activated an unknown program that allowed the pod to continue on to a predetermined destination that allowed Weyland-Yutani Corp to find
@@JohnWDunn-t8t it's so easy to get lost in these theories because the films allow it with their clever writing. Who knows, perhaps they'll explore these ideas.

MaXXXine. Terrifier 3. Smile 2. I hope you read my comment about TRAP since it was very long and I think the twist will be similar to Psycho with the trailer that we see being everything inside Josh Hartnett's mind not real time. I imagine if anyone could do a proper remake of 'Nosferatu', it's most likely Robert Eggers; but, I'm not certain that after Werner Herzog's incredible 1979 version, a new one is needed. Just my opinion...
@@curiousworld7912 I would argue it is needed only in its less comedic value perhaps. We need a true dark telling of a gothic horror, away from the modern takes etc
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I'm not sure I caught any comedy in Herzog's version. It's as dark, gothic, and horrific as such a story calls for. And, Herzog is a master at 'mood'.
It is all a bit cloak and dagger...
Even if Romulus is between Alien and Aliens, perhaps the company actually did go back to LV426 to salvage eggs from the derelict ship, but somehow the ship's cargo got jettisoned en route to the Romulous space station (perhaps a a result of another uncontained outbreak, much like what's observed in Alien). Remember, in Aliens, the blast radius of the atmospheric processor is about 30 - 40 kilometers, but the distance from the station to the derelict ship is at least a day's worth of driving (i.e. the rover with Newts family - they're far from the station) and would thus be quite out of range and remain unharmed.
@@andersborum9267 interesting thoughts but isn't 30-40 km more than a days ride right? I always assumed that Derelict was within the nuke range but who knows. I'm excited to see any exploration into those finer points in future films 👍

Unfortunately, I told my brother about this movie and instead of getting excited, he just said: "Didn't they already make that?" He was talking about the last voyage of the demeter. I hate that this film might get confused with that dreck.
@@Wyrmwould haha! This is the problem with the genre of mythology inspired by the pure source of the original stories. I actually liked Demeter but admit it has it's issues where it seemed to fall into the fan service of having to show generic CGI scary bat poses. But hopefully Nosferatu will provide some well needed classy gothic horror cinema 🙏
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE I might have gone too far by calling it dreck. The movie looked great. I loved the setting of the ship at sea. But I despised how the film presented Dracula as just a silent movie monster. It felt more like a remake of Alien on a sailing ship instead of a spaceship.

I'm already a big fan of Shadow of a Vampire and recently got Nosferatu (played by Klaus Kinski) on dvd. But I'm now waiting on the Nosferatu Symphony of the Night (BFI release) to arrive which I bought on dvd. Well done & spot on, mate. I think the entire mission to LV426 was a direct concoction by W-Y from the very beginning. Else why would they put someone like Gorman in charge of it unless it was setup to fail. The fact that Burke was "along for the ride" is the main cue. As many others think, the decision to "kill off" Newt & Hicks at the beginning of A3 was a slap in the face to the fans, but that rant belongs in another place and time. Cheers. :)
@@briano6115 thank you very much 👍. There are so many subtitles and hidden clues that allow the audience to alter the story in their head in Aliens. Hence why we love this franchise so much. I can't wait to start working on my "Was Gorman compromised all along?" Video soon 😉
@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE Cheers mate. Damn fine work here :)
Or they will show that David perfected making a queen and that's how they have all the eggs for the facehuggers
It's the Narcissus. The Company somehow seized both the shuttle, and the Alien. The Alien encapsulated itself inside a rocky-looking cocoon to survive deep space. We see this drift into a bay, and then later a close-up of the Alien bursting out of it, hands on its head.

My absolute favorite sci-fi/horror movie. Second one being the original predator movie. The truly sad part of the xenomorph and predator universe, is that they have opened the doors to these characters to go to different worlds that have nothing to do with humans. These two franchises have so much to give us to explore. Its the producers and the companies I feel are to afraid to branch out thinking it will be a costly mistake. When in reality if it’s done right (if being the word of the day) we can have amazing characters, stories and movies, and tv shows that can entertain us for years to come.
@@lfyoung your definitely right in that there are so many stories and directions to go with this franchise. I think Fede ultimately has had the opportunity to create his and his story alone but I also believe he realised it had to be a story the studio would agree with, which stops it becoming what you are talking about. They would rather it be relating heavily to the earlier films than something in an entirely new direction perhaps.
If this theory is correct this director and writers, just beat all the new films in the last 10 years
