    Why don't you include a series of holding tanks in the length of the pipe. You could multiply your electric output exponentially as well as solve your overflow problem by directly controlling the flow to the turbines

    Hey man. first video of yours, will stick around for a while and see what is what. I am liking your ideas very much. Here is an odd one... Similar to this water one, but using dirt or sand and an archemedis screw. Solar or a reloop can power the screw and get the sand to the top. the container at the top should be more like an hourglass hopper so sand can be dumped at a regulated speed. this container should be as dark as possible to absorb thermal solar heat too! Imagine pumping sand up to the top to charge with heat, extracting the inertia as you pour some into a bucket. That should make the same powr as this system, but now you also add the thermal absorbtion in the form of a bucket of hot sand you can place in the house to radiate, or transfer the heat to a water heat battery in the home and so forth. Could be the next level up, <3

    Did you think to make it like a turbo car (like a snail) and if the power of water is 7m I think you can make 2of them your test is ok but you lose a lot of power

    Question: did you hook up the buck converter directly on the battery?

  • @QuintBUILDs
    @QuintBUILDs6 күн бұрын

    I tried that but it allowed some current to reverse back into the generator and turn slowly like a motor when the car was stopped. I ended up using a voltage comparator and a relay to only connect the positive to the battery when the generator output >20v.

    @@QuintBUILDs Thats pretty amusing, alternator hybrid build when? On an actual note I tought that maybe instead of wind power I could hook up a battery on the electrical system to lessen the alternator load. Something like an ebike battery that could supply the electrical needs of the car for at least 1h. That way there won't be any wind drag downsides and the only thing is you'd need to charge the battery at home and then replug it into the car. If that works tho and the savings are significant enough it could make a great mod for older cars.

    You should look at air plane generators, Every aircraft has a generator which is basically a squirl cage fan and gen built right into the aircraft. A friend took one out of a Cessnas gen and installed it on his truck. It actually worked brilliantly. He use to use it to charge batteries for his motorhome.

    My hypotosys: On brick shaped cars like Pick up Trucks having 2 Turbinen in the Front wont Produce and significant resistance. However on Cars that are more aerodynamc to Start with, the Turbines might mess up some of the delicant aerodynamic work put into its desing. But thats just a theory AAAAAA physics theory

    Saw this video suggested in one of ElectroBOOM's videos (he was watching something else) and had to check it out. I live somewhere with an excess of water and steep hills, but not enough flow or pressure to run a turbine. Now I'm curious if i could use a series of 50 gallon plastic barrels and a gravity feed to compress some air to use for powering things.... Subbed!

    I predict a negligible change. I think you are reclaiming some of the losses. But i think it is being offset by the aerodynamic inefficiency of the shaoe you've added to the front. I think with very careful tweaking and optimizing, it would be possible to reclaim more than you lose. With no calculation done at all, just pulling a random number out, I would guess 5%

    This is less energy, than 2 AA size battery can store. :/ Plus ín case of battery there's no need for energy transformation, where you loose almost 3/4th of the stored energy. Learn more physics/engineering and think. :/

    When you realize that with 100% efficiency, 1000 L of water at a height of 10 m is just 0.027 kwh, it becomes clear this is never gonna be worth it at small scales.

    Great video and channel. 😮 I am Trev from Australia. I have a better idea if you guys wish to go with it , same principles and storing energy except different materials. Battery storage is not , repeat not going to be the best way to store energy and has not always been the best, The tank will hold compressed air. It doesn’t need to be on a roof. Solar or wind electricity can run a compressor and store energy that can be harnessed when the sun goes down. Compressed air can run a generator/alternator of any size . When a switch goes on and draws air to kick the power source on bingo , stored energy , no batteries needed. This has been done in industrial settings for a long time but not storing and using free renewable energy yet. Another old fashioned method that should come back is steam . Thus can be produced by renewable energy and maximise efficiency by combining renewable energy with steam to run power generation motors

    I'm not an engineer or anything like that but have you thought putting the whole system where the turbine is in an enclosed space? Wouldn't that force the escaping water to contribute to the energy?

  • @natemac8473

    As an Electrical Engineer, I can't help but ask what the efficiency of this system is. Not because I think it will have bad efficiency, I'm just really curious. You could find out by measuring the power consumption of the pump to fill the barrel and then measure the power produced at the generator. P = IV or use a measurement device to record the data. Enjoyed the video! Cheers!

    This might be a silly question, but why didn't you use a low RPM wind turbine, say 500 RPM. That way your wind speed doesn't need to be that high. Also, vertical turbines apparently are better to use rather than the bladed type.
