46:35 Small Steps is 257 pages, I think Kelsey was looking at the amount of sample-pages that are free-to-read online.

That wasn't the plothole with her feeling fire and putting it out. She said she didn't feel anything with her ex and she felt fire with with him and it scared her. That part made sense... Come on guys. Luv ya.

Not Kelsey's and Jared's energies fusing into one in this episode 😂 Zach seems so much calmer next to this duo. What a great episode! Such a treasure of a book/movie.

I’m so glad we’re finally talking about this movie. It really is, IMO, the only movie in Hollywood that captures the book perfectly. 30/10. No notes.

I didn't relate to Kelsey much until this episode. I feel every word, my dad is also a die-hard Beatles fan and their music and this movie are so much of my identity and my love for him. I tear up just thinking about this fucking movie and show it to anyone who doesn't know it, it's a masterpieceeeee

David Bowie didn't have heterochromia. He had anisocoria where one pupil was bigger than the other so his eyes looked different colours.

I am 28, and this book and movie are still my absolute favourites. It truly is perfection. I love Louis Sachar. ❤️ But also, Small Steps is not 39 pages, it's a whole book. More than 200 pages for sure.

David Bowie actually didn’t have heterochromia! He had a blown pupil from a head injury in childhood. His irises were the same color but one pupil was much bigger than the other, creating that illusion

Finding this movie on Hulu, 2 years later. You learn almost everything about the main character within the opening scene between him and the pig, not throughout the film. He's cooking at the cabin, with basic ingredients he still has a flair and finesse to preparing a meal. When he gets batteries he briefly plays the tape of his wife, but he's in pain and cannot listen for long without putting it away. His wife is dead. He's a chef. He secluded himself in the woods.

Consider watching the original Moulinn Rouge film which sees our artist Toulouse-Lautrec in love with a can-can dancer. Henri was a real artist and he’s the man behind those broad-stroke paintings you see of old Paris and the can-can dancers.

I can't even with how much they're squeeing over Holes!!!! it's one of my favourite movies ever. I was 37 when I saw the movie in 2007, and I don't remember the big deal about the book. It's one of few movies I've watched where I got to the end of and immediately watched it again. When Hector runs away after hitting Pendansky, and the Warden says to destroy all of Hector's paper work because "he was never here," to me, the justified nearly any punishment she was going to get. The thing with the judge is he is in cahoots with the Warden, Mr. Sir, and Pendansky. If some kid who is Black, or poor, or homeless comes before his bench, he knows he can send them to Camp Greenlake and no one will miss them. The absolute best part of the whole movie is when Stanley puts the valise in the trunk and the Warden begs him, "Stanley, won't you just open it? Just let me see what's inside, please." And he closes the trunk and says, "Secuse me?" Boom! Khelo Thomas is a gamer who won a Mortal Kombat 11 tournament dressed as Powerline from A Goofy Movie. "I can fix that" means the exact same thing as "As you wish." Yes, Zach!!!

My 4th grade teacher read Holes to my class. She read it every year, but it also happened to be the school year the movie would come out. Loved the book, loved the movie. Now I've been a teacher for 8 school years, and for 6 of those I've taught 4th grade. I read Holes every year as the first read-aloud I do during our 20 min snack time. Just for fun, not do do academic work on. Some of the kids kind of act like being read to is babyish at first. Then, they get into the story, and they're excited every day to hear what happens next. And let me tell you, watching their faces when a plot twist or a pivotal moment happens is just the best. Then we watch the movie for their Fun Friday period, the last 30 min of the school week, until we finish it. Quite a few of my past students told me reading and watching Holes are a core memory for them. Makes my heart so happy. I also hope it helps some of them see you can read just for fun, not just for school work.
