This movie gave me "Everyone Is Beautiful and No One Is Horny."

The most rattling part of this movie was that they had that level of HATRED for each other and they hadn’t even hooked up. Like literally just met, fell asleep and then there was a misunderstanding and they held onto that for MONTHS. Like what

I’m gonna be honest I don’t love when a movie is bad the defence is it’s not for critics it’s for the girlies. Girlies deserve good films lol

Yeah 😢 it was BAD this episode, like worse than usual.

Just need to say Glen Powell in Set it Up was not bad! I definitely believed in the love story, he was funny and it was a fun watch.

Also, Garrick passionately defending "Unwritten" was my happy medicine for the week.

I am begging you to review Flushed Away on this podcast. The ultimate guilty pleasure for me 😂

I think there's like a rule/deal where to film in Australia you need a certain percentage of Australian actors in the movie/tv show. So Bryan Brown, Rachel Griffiths & the other 2 Aussies make that up especially when it's such a small cast.

Please watch Set It Up. A better example of someone having great chemistry with Glenn and making him likeable. Personally, I just don't think he and Sydney had any romantic chemistry.

Yeah he’s a lot older (she’s 9 when he went to Coachella) so that makes sense

they make a comment that glen’s character was basically raised with gatta and his sister which i think is why he’s invited cause he’s part of the family and goes back to losing his mom but agree with everything else. needed more stakes

Pleeeeeeeease can we talk about Lisa Frankenstein? It’s Zelda Williams’ Directorial debut that deserves so much more attention. Plus, it ALLEGEDLY takes place in the same universe as Jenifer’s body.

First thing i saw Glen in was The Dark Knight Rises but first thing i noticed him in was the tv show Scream Queens. Him and Nick Jonas scenes are so hilarious. He's great in Hidden Figures & not a dick in that. Cant wait to see his next film Hit Man which he co wrote with Richard Linklater.

So many HOT takes in this one 😂 I NEED y’all to bring a guest on who loves the classic rom com formula for movies like these-it’s the definition of a guilty pleasure! I also feel like this one toed the line of raunchiness and physical comedy pretty well for audiences that may not be looking for something like “Something About Mary” (don’t come at me). It’s not the greatest rom com of all time, but it’s solid and that’s all it was trying to be. You’re right about Seth Rogen though, everything the man touches is gold and Long Shot is an underrated banger of a rom-com.

@@alexare6655 Fair opinion! And you’re probably right. But Something About Mary took the gross moments too far and sometimes people just want to watch something easy. For me this was the rom-Com equivalent of trash tv-it doesn’t need to be objectively good.

Newer rom-com that has been underrated is Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. So so good. All the rom-com feels plus more

Now if we could get the lesbians as the main characters next time and have black people darker than me we would be COOOOOOKING cuz this was so shockingly diverse and modern

pitch to make this movie 10000x more interesting (aside from just better writing in general): what if, instead of Ben being the *checks notes* best friend of the bride's brother? what if he was the bride's ex fiance before she came out of the closet? lets say that she came out, he was understanding and they stayed really close because he's a good person, but instead of the plotline with Margaret, he's just dealing with being lonely now that his ex fiance / bff is getting married. Margaret doesn't even NEED to exist and Bea's sister can have an actual friend to be the other bridesmaid.

I thought it was great and solely because of jlaw. I couldnt stand the boy actor with no jawline.

This movie was a 5/5 on Letterboxd for me. I am a true lover of rom coms and think they are ruined by wanting to be for critics. I like hot people that will fall in love at the end and did not want the over the top to make it more rated R. Amazing cast and love all the praise for Gata

If you want an incredible recent rom com, I Want You Back with Charlie Day and Jenny Slate came out last year and was incredible

Can you guys please watch “The Last Five Years” with Anna Kendrick & Jeremy Jordan? I think it’s a romance that everyone would enjoy, but it is also a musical.

YES! I agree with everything -- from all the plot holes to the vocal fry take! I think the issue with the chemistry is that they had zero romantic chemistry, only sexual chemistry. Their kisses were hot (likely only because they're hot) but I didn't care if they got together at all, in fact I kinda rooted for them to stay apart. They aren't a good couple or team. Glen had infinitely more chemistry with Zoe in Set It Up. #sheshouldhavepooped

Idk if this is on anyone else’s guilty pleasure, but Romeo and Juliet 1996. Is it possible to do an episode on that one?

i liked the movie a lil but i didn’t really believed they were in love.

Set It Up was such a better Glen Powell romcom in my opinion. Zoey Deutsch and Glen Powell had such fun banter/chemistry. It felt less cheezy and more authentic.

I'm not going to watch this episode until I see the movie, but can someone tell me if the title is an April fools joke?

Set it Up was suchhhh a good Glen Powell romcom... this one was so lame in comparison. Even the Shakespeare of it all couldn't save it in my eyes.

That wasn't the plothole with her feeling fire and putting it out. She said she didn't feel anything with her ex and she felt fire with with him and it scared her. That part made sense... Come on guys. Luv ya.

Seth rogen can't make a good rom-com He certainly isn't the go-to reference. Knocked up was not a great movie. But I will agree The Proposal was amazing and top tier. Sandy B is the reference for all rom-coms. Mr&Mrs Smith was also AZ excellent rom-com.

My friends dragged me to watch this and it was the worst movie I have sat through in years! If my friend wasn't my ride I probably would have walked out at any point lol

Personally, without watching the movie, what pisses me off most is that poster because why did they have her hair like that

i was so excited for this movie as a girlie who loves all rom coms bad and good. but i was disappointed because it felt, shallow, rushed, had horrible editing. didnt hate it. it was fine. just not as good as it should have been

I hated this movie but wanted to love it so much 😅
