jack black and the kids had a reunion concert 10 years later and it was so cute, like them just rocking out on stage and having fun, all of them still great at music

Fun fact: Jack Black pestered Led Zepplin to use their songs, creating a video message speaking about his passion for this movie & Led Zepplin.. they approved it & it's the only movie until then to have their blessing ❤❤

No, I just watched an interview with her. She said she did a singing audition and WAS bad so they created a character for her that didn’t have to sing.

Nah Kelsey, learning instruments when you're young is like learning foreign languages young. It's a LOT easier to pick up an instrument when you're young and it helps cognitive development. Obviously, if the child really doesn't want to learn, let them choose another activity that they would rather do, but almost everyone who plays instruments professionally started their first instrument as children.

When Tamika has her awesome vocal solo her parents are so excited for her, it's really wholesome.

This movie is the biggest pleasure, no guilt. My husband and I always quote "You're tacky and a hate you" or do the let's rock let's rock today finger handshake thing . But you soooooo have to do orange county. That movie is a classic and a must for anyone who lives in southern California. I grew up watching it, it's one of my mom's favorites. We quote it all the time.

The girl who played the bassist in this movie was recently on a podcast and she talks about how awesome Jack black was. He still keeps in touch with all the kids and they picketed together during the Hollywood strike. The only bad thing I have to say about Jack black is tenacious d concert tickets are ridiculously expensive. He's truly a gem.

Love this movie so much, and spent the whole pod screaming fun facts at you all in my car. Not only is the whole cast still in contact, but Rivkah and Joey (Katie and Zach) are still in a band together, and Caitlin and Angelo (Marta and Frankie) are dating! So many of the kids went on to do super cool things.

We just pretend Shallow Hal never hapoened.

I saw Kelsey getting hate in the comments so I'm just balancing that out, I'm here for my loud wild FL girl!!! Love Kelsey, love the boys, and their friendship is so sweet to me bc they're all so different but all love each other and support each other and are open to having their minds changed by each other's perspectives. Just bc Kelsey annoys some people doesn't mean she doesn't add a lot! She's a voice for people who may not have the extensive cinema knowledge Garrick or Zack has, and I think she's funny. Also, girl eat your food, as a chronically hungry person who always needs a snack, I respect and appreciate the crew taking care of themselves and not having rules like no food or drink that could make the hosts physically uncomfortable. We're here for the happy cozy vibes, I want my hosts happy and cozy too! When I hang out and talk with my friends, we're always snacking, so to me it felt like hanging out with friends in the living room :)

Korea apparently loved having Jack Black on their Variety shows because he approached it with such joy and enthusiasm so I think saying the world loves him is probably accurate if that's how he always behaves with people in general. But I kind of get it Kelsey, I didn't like Will Ferrel, even though I actually enjoy most of the things I have seen him in and know he's quite funny but ever since I was a teenager I just didn't like him and I don't really know why either, I do love his move Stranger than Fiction though, such a great movie and is one of the reasons I started to come around to him even a little bit.

I feel the same way! I don't really like Will Farrel, but I loved Stranger than Fiction. I think I don't like him because of Elf (don't like grown adults acting like children) and Step-brothers. But the actor that /really/ gives me the creeps is Jim Carrey!

Love this film. My mum isn't a big film/tv fan but loves this film. Wish we got to hear Adam Pascal sing more in the film but I can always listen to/watch Rent if I wanna hear him sing more rock

Checking in as someone with 2 engineering degrees, but who grew up doing band/theatre, has all artsy hobbies, and almost entirely artsy friends. I feel like some kind of hybrid model. BTW I had lots of non-arts teachers I remember clearly. And I don't think it's just my liking of math and science, they were just fascinating people. - the super old hippie biology teacher who told us things like "if you're freaked out by dissecting a pig, just imagine you're dissecting yourself instead!" - the woman from South America who taught us science in French and if we were good would bring out marionnettes and make them sing Spanish songs - the young and funny physics teacher who explained things in cool ways, and talked to us like we were real people and not just kids - the chill as hell calculus teacher who once let my class of 6 order pizza and have a birthday party for me instead of having regular class
