I don't think Jennifer's character is meant to be dumb. She's shy, lacks confidence and had been spoken down on by her Verbally abusive ex. She showed the typical Abuse victim Characteristics.

This is going to be controversial, I love a lot of the songs don't get me wrong, however, I think that the fact that Emmet is the reason she starts wanting to succeed in the musical makes the premise weaker than the original movie. In the original movie, she has help that is true, but her drive to succeed is within her and she is struggling but she is the ultimate decider of her own success, where as in the musical Emmet is the reason she starts to even really try in school. He is the reason she even begins to study in the musical. I think the movie is more inspirational for having the strength within and ownership of your own destiny. I still do think the musical has a fun spin and songs that are serious ear worms :)

My film professor repeatedly said this is the perfect film, at least in theory terms of a hollywood film. Always used it to explain fabula and syuzhet and to contrast art house film narration’s loosened cause and effect.

FINALLY THANK YOU!!!! This is one of my favorite movies. The court room scene is my favorite part, I could watch that scene every day and never get bored of it. This is so timely… I randomly thought of the MTV reality show last week and have been consuming Legally Blonde musical content nonstop ever since. Just watched the MTV recording last night!

never forget the fact that Elle got a 179 on her LSATs. That is ONE POINT OFF OF THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE SCORE YOU CAN GET. And we see her work her ass off. There's a scene where she gets a significantly lower mark on her initial practice test and she somehow jumps that after like... maybe a few weeks study? In a field she's never even thought about joining before this. Elle is a hidden genius.

It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen this film, it just gets better every damn time.

OMG YES ZACH!!! The Sweetest Thing is one of my favorite movies of all tiiiiiiime!! I was literally thinking they have to do that movie during this episode!

I remember the musical!! I watched it so many times. Iconic film and musical!

One thing I like about this movie is the scene where they argue about the sperm donor, because it shows that not only is she wasting her time trying to get back with her ex, but it subtly warns her about her teacher. Her ex makes an argument that would help a stalker get off scot-free and the teacher agreed with it.

You all just unlocked a core memory. I quoted the endorphins line including how happy people don't kill their husbands in health class in high school. Omg. 😅
