    I like Modern Vehicle Care's method much better. His lights look clearer at the end too. Yours still have a slight haze. Or maybe he just has a better camera.

    Which polish compound did you use to fill in the poly lens before you apply the clear? Looks like it’s at the 8:42 time mark. Your description lists 3M hard lens cleaner and Chemical guys headlight restorer. I’m a bit confused as to which product was used specifically to fill in the micro scratches left behind by the sandpaper

    I can tell you one thing for certain. If you park outside and use the Meguiars headlight coating then you'll be extremely lucky to get a year out of it before your headlights are worse than before. This stuff is honestly complete junk. The sun eats it up quickly and bugs will totally discolor it and it won't buff out. I've tried it all and the only long term method for a daily driven car that gets parked outside is a true automotive grade clear coat with hardener added. Sure, the Meguiars headlight coating looks great at first until the UV, bugs and road debris destroys it.

    I learned that OFF spray ruins plastic and synthetic surfaces by spraying it on my sneakers a few times. I thought I was doing good to keep the bugs away but that stuff deteriorated the surfaces big time. The shoes got all sticky and attracted dust. I can only imagine what it does to headlight plastic.

    I've learned a lot from this guy and use all the same methods and products. I enjoy learning from your videos. You pass on so much knowledge to us and most of us appreciate it. You have the best channel for headlights. I believe in my work cause it works. Meguiars made 83 million last year. I think they know what they're doing. If you watch other videos he explains the headlight and why you put the oil back on the headlight before the headlight coating goes on. Haters gonna hate. Lot's of money to be made with what he's telling us..............

    Ok, I'm convinced! I'm doing this on my 2007 4Runner and the rest of my family cars. QUESTION: why switch from a cordless drill to the 12v battery rotary? Couldn't you stick with one or the other for both applications? Or, is the drill too powerful and the 12v rotary has a more gentle action? I'm asking because I have a cordless drill and would rather not buy another tool if I don't need it. I also have a Griot's Garage rotary polisher I suppose I could use for all of it, right?

    HEY, in a case like this would using a cold gel pack over the tape quick, help it release better, safer? Like, would adding some cold prevent too much stickiness? FREAKING LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!! We have one more kid in high school so I’ve been looking for some kind of job where I still have some flexibility to be there for all three kids (a HS junior, one starting college in the fall, one back home after two years in college) when they need me (my first and foremost career in life is mom 😄) so this looks perfect! Husband would support the idea, I can work a LOT if I want. I love the fact that doing this right is an art form which I would really enjoy…I get super focused on detailed projects. THANK YOU!!!!

    Working on a customers car. What do you do when your tape pulls up paint from a chip in the paint and looks way worse now?

  • @H.B.Fishing.
    @H.B.Fishing.2 күн бұрын

    Clean all the surface area and make sure you tape up properly. Tape up to four times just to be safe and TAKE YOUR TIME. It's not a race and never be in a hurry. Keep touch up paint with common colors. I learned a lot from this guy. Watch as many of his videos that you can.

    He has a video on why he polishes the light before he sprays it. He's putting back the oils that need to make a flat surface on the light. He talks about the microscopic cracks in the light we can't see. I use all the same products and methods. Chemical Guys Headlight Restoration polish is the best for it.
