    The permanent damage was a bummer but the best part is your compassion for the customer with an emergency for his mother to be safe and willingness to do the job without sticking it to them after a long day. Great headlights for sure but a true business man for the long game. Salute to you HRP.

    Did my first headlight restoration the other day using all the gear listed in the bio and following the process and wow, it turned out amazing. I was a little nervous but after the seeing the clarity after the tricact stage eased me. The only thing I mucked up on was the coating on the first headlight I sprayed. I forgot to warm it up, first time spraying and I over saturated it and got a small 💧 drip. The right one came out ok. Thank you for the videos it really is a godsend. The thought of wet sanding before I watched all your videos never really appealed to me- time, effort, gauging how much to sand etc. so definitely your method is the way forward

    Better yet, compile a list of local detailers, ID who don't do HR and partner with them to build more business for yourself - reciprocal agreement to share business 👍

    @@theheadlightrestorationpro Agreed. Your are well established within your local market. Most (tho not all) of us (your followers, such as I) are in earlier stages of business development (say, 6-24 months). My comment above was directed at those individuals. Initially, entering a market, I seek partner opportunities and relationships rather than aggravating competitors - they can become partner opportunities once well established. It isn't that we should be afraid of competition, rather, Its an approach that allows us to choose both the place and time of our battles (competition) to our maximum benefit. If your local market is heavy on detailers (or direct competitors), I have found from previous experience (not related to this service specifically, tho I am going through that currently) that significant competitors can dramatically effect your launch plans if you awaken them too early and they perceive you has a notable threat to their business - I know, huge market and all that, but I don't want the guy down the block to make my launch more difficult, I'll deal with him when circumstances are in my favor. My apologies if this message size causes you grief, YT comments isn't a good place for detailed discussions - feel free to gmail me at this YT @.

    This video illistrates a problem that i have when deciding whether to start with a P500 or a P800. These headlights are so bad i would never have thought to start with a P800. It's hard to explain to people on camera when to use what grit to start. Great video though.

    Now the harder question...how much do they need to pay to get the inside lens restored.😅 I got a aluminum foiled box with a heat gun. And rtv sealant. Im not 100% positive, but 400+ grit sanding may be required before moving toward polishing the inside out to get all the glinting removed. Yeah i got this glinting defect recently, darn.

    @@theheadlightrestorationpro Today I got a roll of the green 3m from Discont auto part store. And it removed some paint. The vehicle was painted a year ago. Do you think that may have happened because the tape was old? I don't think ppl purchase tape there a lot. Because it seemed to be overly adhesive.

  • @Dr.RealTalk

    @Dr.RealTalk

    4 ай бұрын

    @@theheadlightrestorationpro Yeah that's the one that I use. I normally order from amazon. But today I picked up a role from discount auto parts, and I noticed the roll seemed overly adhesive. I tested a little area and it was ok. But after I restored the headlights and removed the paint. Unfortunately the tape pulled up paint around one of the headlights. The vehicle is old, and the last paint job was last year sometimes. So do you think the tape may have been too old, and over adhesive. Therefore, caused that to happen?
