@jaimedpcaus1 in terms of the life of the car and infinite amount.. 20- 30 headlight restorations if done properly with this method.. even if you did one every year you would still not get a car that somebody to keep for that long more than likely... HEY, in a case like this would using a cold gel pack over the tape quick, help it release better, safer? Like, would adding some cold prevent too much stickiness? FREAKING LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!! We have one more kid in high school so I’ve been looking for some kind of job where I still have some flexibility to be there for all three kids (a HS junior, one starting college in the fall, one back home after two years in college) when they need me (my first and foremost career in life is mom 😄) so this looks perfect! Husband would support the idea, I can work a LOT if I want. I love the fact that doing this right is an art form which I would really enjoy…I get super focused on detailed projects. THANK YOU!!!!

I sanded off some paint on the BMW i3 who's headlights I restored. Probably when using the P320 pad. The drill went right through both the green tape and the plastic sheeting I used on top of the green tape to protect from overspray. I have the BMW OEM paint pens, and the car is comprised of all plastic panels so no primer needed, but it really sucks to have created more work for myself. Since it's winter, now I have to choose between sealing and waxing the car or fix all the paint chips (I may just go ahead and use a 3 month wax so I can fix the paint in spring).

Yeah it sucks.. it's a big issue with the danger of using those heavier grits.. this is one of the reasons I say never use them unless 100% necessary because the likely hood of damage goes up significantly... Do you have a video dedicated to spraying? Nobody else I see spray like this. They normally spray side-to-side.

Because I don't know what they're doing blunt and honest...lol Or they're using something that's not meant to be on headlights... And most the times both... But check these out this is what you're asking for pretty much... Now tell me which looks more like how I do it when the factory sprays lights because this is how they're sprayed in the factory by robots..... They don't just go side to side side to side and be done it looks a bit different... I found some 3m blue washi tape that seems to do well for delicate fresh paint surfaces/automotive...but not a fan of the price...seems like $10.50 a roll if they gave a full 180 yards. Yet I prefer a good automotive tape if I like what I can get in bulk.

Hello I wonder if this method will work with regular sandpaper with the same grit? It's hard to find the same brand that you're using in my country.

It could you'd have have to use a sand paper equation chart to get the equivalent grit and it wouldn't be the same because the quality of sandpaper is much lower but it's possible it would be 10 times harder to produce this quality...

In my country I can't get Meguiar's spray. Have you tried Sonax products? Which do you think is better between "Sonax PROFILINE Ceramic Headlight Coating" (Silicon based with UV-absorbers, OSRAM approved) , "3M Quick Headlight Clear Coat Wipes" (Polyurethane based with UV-stabilizers) and "Ceramic Acrylic wipes" of "Turtle wax Speed headlight lens restorer kit" (Acrylic Polymer based)? By the way, the composition of "Headlight Lens REPAIR & RENEW Compound" of the Turtle kit looks promising.

I don't..lol if I follow the rules that I set.. this is why I take the way I do every single time.... It's been years since I have... But if I do it's very minimal and it just wipes off with a glass cleaner.. if it doesn't I use the polisher on low speed 3M finnese it and compound... Should be very minimum if you're doing this method actually none existent..

Any polisher you can get your hands on long as it's 3 in and well over 5,000 RPM...

No....no need... The light wasn't really that difficult .. and it wasn't so much not touching the sides for protection I was just not to lay any pressure on the tape.. aluminum tape is more for vehicles that you're going to be grinding on a lot..

And again you make a video on something and I'm looking at this Mini Cooper in front of me and there I see it burn in because of magnified lights. On another note do you collect money before or after the job is done? Because that's not something you can take back.
