    I bought a 2013 Acura TL earlier this summer. The whole car is mint but the headlights were looking a bit faded. I had a Turtle Wax headlight restoration kit that I bought a while ago for a different vehicle but never ended up using. I tried it on my TL. It came out ok, but I want the headlights to look great so I came to KZread. I watched one video before and he lost me at the end when he busted out the 2K clear. I don't want to be using that stuff. Then I came this this channel and I don't need to look no further. Your method is where it's at. I'm gonna go watch your old videos, get the products you recommend and do it your way. Thanks man.

    Thank you Headlight Pro for bringing up the topic of people putting the wrong products on their headlights once again. I agree with you about the 2k clear, but, as hard as it is to get out, I can get it out... But there are people watching KZread clickbait videos and getting drunk or hopped up on something using harder substances, I.E. LACQUER.

    Someone from another channel missed a bunch of spots when taping off the paint before spraying his clearcoat. When asked he said he just has alcohol wipes for any spots he misses taping off, though none of that was shown in the video. Incredible🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️... The quality and attention to detail you provide your customers is exactly what i strive for as well. Even one blemish can ruin a customer experience, and I cant believe other "professionals" are so fine with fast talking their way out of it. Quality work sells itself. No need for "lifetime warantees" on my block 😂😂

    Exactly they have real lackluster work ethics and they really don't care about their customers that's why they're doing anything they want to their headlights knowing that their headlights are not going to function to its utmost peak and they're probably causing a lot of damage on the vehicle one way or another..lol I see people so-called professionals doing the dumbest shit on KZread it's hilarious but they're ratings reflect exactly that bullshit lackluster work ethic..... I know exactly what you're talking about...lol Thank you for watching really appreciate it... Keep up the good work..., 💪🏽

    @theheadlightrestorationpro that'd exactly what I was thinking while watching. Just a clear lack of attention to detail and ultimately work ethic. They're so focused on the profits and sales than learn the art of a true restoration. There's even a full paid course on how to restore headlights now lmao. It's turned into a simple money grab rather than a true artform. Good work HRP. I'll be here for awhile!

    There some other restorers that say 2k clear coat is the way to properly restore them and “the only way” but honestly watching your videos I can 💯 say this is the proper way 2k clear coat will ruin you headlights , especially if you mess up and spray it and it drips it’s going to be super hard to remove compared to meguries coating. Keep up the great videos

  • @theheadlightrestorationpro

    @theheadlightrestorationpro

    @Robbie-mw5uu it just comes from misinformation and under education and a little lack of common Sense..... It's the same type of principle that there are hundreds of car wash soaps designed for car wash and if I wanted to be a dumbass like these guys I would just be like you don't need it you can just use laundry soap... Or body wash it's the same thing it gets it really clean..lol I cringe all the time it makes no sense to me... There are so many products out there designed for headlights now why would you have to go outside of that realm... Nothing's going to be better than what these people are putting out there's a lot of money in some cases a lot of big scientists behind these products..

    So I attempted to restore the headlights of a 2014 BMW i3. The headlights became foggy after automatic car washes and seemingly age. Not yellowed, just clouded. I started prep in the afternoon and the sun set fast due to Winter. It was quite cold and dark. I was only able to complete a single headlight. I used the 2005 Toyota Prius who's headlights I had previously restored as a worklight facing the BMW while behind me and set to work. 41 degrees F. The headlight destroyed 8 of my P320 pads, 3 P500s, and 2 P800s. Trizact pad is fine. By the polishing step, the headlight was still foggy so I did touch up by returning to P500, wet sand with P800, buff with Meguiars Compound on 3M finesse it pad, then Trizact pad. My poor old Ryobi drill is a bit old and it seemed to struggle by the end. I used Chemical Guys Headlight Restorer followed with Meguiars Headlight Clearcoat spray as instructed in these videos and the headlight came out brilliant. There are scratches from the drill movement on the surface of the headlight which i'm not sure how to remove despite returning to wet hand sanding with P800. I will attempt to sand them down during a warmer day and after ordering P240 pads, more P320 pads as well. Even though the BMW i3 is almost 10 years old and damaged by automatic car washes, those headlights were incredibly strong. I would not wish those kind of headlights on my worst enemy.

  • @theheadlightrestorationpro

    @theheadlightrestorationpro

    6 ай бұрын

    Yeah those are pretty hard... With the scratches I would just dry sand 800 by hand a little bit more and if need to by drill a little bit more Believe It or not 90% of the times those come from too much pressure on the p500 stage and or especially if you used anything lower as you said the 320 ... It's a hard balance when you're doing a very hard light to not press too hard cuz as I said in a couple videos once that hardness is gone you're pressing hard against the softness... What sounds like they're coming out good. 👍🏽

    Thank you for posting these videos. I have been doing lights from time to time as my vehicles age, but I have mainly used kits with wet sanding and using the wipe on a clear coat. They looked OK for a while but yellow again quickly, so I went to KZread and found your videos. I will order the products you use and redo my vehicles and my inlaws' vehicles (severe yellowing). If I can get good results, I may do some as a side business. I have experience detailing paintwork, so I think this is something I can do well, thanks to all your instructions. I will keep you posted!

  • @theheadlightrestorationpro

    @theheadlightrestorationpro

    Ceramically tested good for optical clarity it's not a true sealant and should never be used on headlights... It degrades to rapidly and does not last long enough but the number one thing is it is way too thin to be on a headlight... And double coating is a no-go don't want to do more than one coating.... It had high marks on optical transparency but that's about it....👎🏽👎🏽
