    Okay I saw this on tumblr tonight and I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s not really related to the topic. It might just be something helpful In general to someone. “ when healing from a person.. you will have thoughts like “I loved them more than I loved anyone, I never knew I could love someone so much, I’ll never love someone that much again.. It is important to realize that your ability to love that person didn’t come from them, it came from within you. You were always a lover, already someone who could love deeply. Just because they are gone doesn’t mean that goes away. They didn’t give you the capacity to love, they just gave you a place to express it. Don’t give someone else the credit for how hard you could love, that was you and it still is. “

    I realize I contradicted myself. I am aware that “gossip” columns state that they are “open swingers”, and they have stated prior to this talk that they have seen other people. Throughout Jada’s video, Will looked very hurt...this brings me to a contradictory issue: are they swingers, and if they are, why did he appear hurt? If they are not swingers, why do they talk about being ok with seeing other people when clearly Will is not ok with it? It’s odd from all perspectives.

    I feel you. The most hurtful thing a man has ever said to me came from my now ex-husband. I moved countries to be with him (I moved to Canada from Australia) only to find out he was massively in debt, addicted to alcohol and lived behind his computer when he wasn't working. We got married but I was alone in bed on my wedding night crying my eyes out while he played games online. He constantly belittled me, yelled at me, ignored me. I stuck it out for 2 years then decided I'd had enough and was going home. He told me I was better off in my own country and that getting married was a mistake. When I asked him why he married me, he said, "I felt sorry for you". That shit took a long time to get past. I've been home since 2003 now and last year he found me on FB and was so happy to see me and wanted to friend me and chat and catch up, basically act like my best bud. I told him I'm not on FB very much (true) and he should look elsewhere for friends because I won't be coming back on. Bye, Felicia.

    Jada & August's experience of the relationship don't have to be the same. I believe they both were telling the truth they just experienced the relationship differently. (My limited understanding) August was recovering from drugs and she was helping him get better. Add a physical/sexual relationship to that and I could see how he could experience the relationship as a deep intense love. She, having just come out of a heart wrenching breakup, wasn't looking for a deep love relationship, she might not have even had the emotional capacity to love him like that. Therefore, I could see her experiencing the relationship in the way that she did being true too. Just because she didn't experience the relationship as a deep heartfelt love of your life romance doesn't mean she's lying and him seeing it that way doesn't mean he's lying. Do I think she was editing herself? Absolutely and Will called her on it a little bit too. Where people want to see a villain they will see one when at the end of the day we're all just humans out here fuckin' shit up and figuring out how to move forward. (Adding in that my eyebrow is raised that she would even get into an intimate relationship with someone who is "sick". That to me is the questionable part, but you know what they say about hurt people.)

    I really do think that August may have looked at Jada in kind of a "motherly" way & for guidance spiritually & physically & mentally. I think he sought wisdom and support from her because he was really sick, Struggling and dealing with addiction & a lot of deaths in his family around the time that he was with her. Also, Jada kind of said in a backwards way that he made her "feel good". But you are right, August's relationship with his mother wasn't great and she wasn't around much at all and to some degree I think he needed that level of comfort from Jada. I mean, even Jada said she took him in for health for guidance... it TURNED romantic, that was not the plan.

It’s easy to blame her, but if this dude was really looking for the love of his life why would he chose a married woman twice his age? I think he should have been more discreet about their relationship if he loved her so much. To me it sounds like he’s trying to make her uncomfortable and make himself look good.

I mainly ask because for a very long time, I didn't know what I was looking for, or I discovered that what I thought I was looking for, was not really all that important. I've dated a few guys, and at first the only thing I wanted was someone to be funny, good looking, and intelligent. But, tbh, most people are all those things, and many people with those characteristics have proved to be terrible partners. Lately, I've been more interested in less superficial things, such as resilience, wisdom (in the sense of wether the person learns from their mistakes or not), discipline, and willingness to form a team/ partnership. I feel like these things should be put on the spotlight, mainly because a lot of people don't even know what things are important to look for when looking for a serious partner. In any case, thanks for your response 😊

  • @azskater09

    @azskater09

    4 жыл бұрын

    I will say, that August sounded like a mature man able to express his emotions in his interview. The last thing that is probably on his mind is how “hot” he looks. Men are humans, ya know. They are allowed to grieve, too. I agree with your statement on Jada though. That being said, I certainly don’t think there is enough evidence support the notion that anyone involved in the relationship is necessarily a victim. The situation appears to be 3 grown adults who agreed upon a particular situation, yet all of them seemed fail to provide proper communication about their expectations, which resulted in further poor decision making from all three. It’s also not just August and Jada who are at fault, here. One of the keys to a successful polyamorous relationship, or any relationship for that matter, is communication and dialogue. There are plenty of successful, healthy open and polyamorous relationships within society, but in such relationships, all parties are engaged in clear communication and dialogue, generally speaking. Will has just as much fault as the others for not being clear in his communication. It just seems like poor communication and poor decision making all around. I’m not sure if they all have personal therapists, but, if they do/did, I would hope that such individuals would stress the importance of having consistent, open dialogue in such a relationship. Lastly, I think it’s important to note that celebrities have constant pressures from various outside forces to do things that may not be in their best interest. I could certainly envision a situation where either party’s marketing teams could be pushing to go public with this for more publicity. I’m not saying that is the case, but it is certainly a possibility, although unlikely.

  • @maeahem

    @maeahem

    Jesse Peters I only agree on Jada in that she should not have gotten with August because he was a mentee and in a very vulnerable position despite having agency and autonomy. The dynamics were off. They used each other to “heal” but he came off worse because she is an established icon yet he was losing his upcoming deals because people were suspicious of him. I get that he felt he had to say something if it was bothering him, but yeah grown man, bad consequences.

    You also got to put into perspective the fact that she gave him “stability “ and then took it away. She was supporting him while he was going through a lot, and then left to be with her husband. I’m not taking any sides, he also knew she was married.

    It’s funny now looking back after what happened at the Oscars so this is what happens when gaslighting to the extreme and how Will Smith exploded. I’m so over them

    I really think this is my favorite video yet. Not even because of the celebrity comparison, but the topic of gaslighting, prioritizing your needs, and being unapologetic for what you want/deserve. Thank you 💕

    This video was EXACTLY what I needed to hear. My ex decided to apologize for “ lying about his feelings and leading me on”. This was his cowardly way of attempting to hurt me After I broke up with him . Thank you Shallon, I Needed this confirmation!

    I love Keke but she was subtweeting and they were supposed to be friends, if a friend of mine was out here making jokes about an emotionally delicate topic I would be mad as well, also, you always say to call people out in public, kinda feel like August would be a Shalligator 😂🤷🏻‍♀️
