HOT TAKE: Pick me girls aren't usually picked. Girls who are SO desperate to have a man, I feel like, rarely ever have one. Right? Do you notice that these overly desperate (Larsa) or forgiving (Khloe) women have the quality relationships they so desperately seek, or are they actually usually constantly getting humped and dumped?

TOTALLY! Guys can smell the desperation, and if they do have a guy they're the bad ones that just use them nonstop without remorse because they know they'll get away with it!

I recently read a book by Dr. Amir Levine called Attached about attachment theory. Basically, different people love in different ways. We have the anxious people who want intimacy and closeness but have a lot of fear about their partner leaving. When someone gets distant, their natural reaction is to cling or do protest behaviors like upgrade their physical appearance, play games, and internally combust. Avoidant attachment types need space and are most likely to cheat or ghost. Avoidant partners prefer anxious partners because that rush both people get are these attachment styles get activated. This causes pain and confusion for both people. Both are better suited for a Secure attachment type. It can still work if Anxious and Avoidant can avoid the trap. Anyway, it's a really great read, and the content backs up a lot of your advice. If someone makes you feel shitty and trash, know that person isn't the only one out there for you. There are tons who are great, who you will like, and who will treat you right. The spell is an activated attachment system. It's so liberating!

@@dramaticmac4516 So, an ex of mine, before he dated me, was with a TOTAL pick me. They were together for 2 years but he would always insist it wasn' serious and it was barely a relationship--she just let him do whatever, so he kept her around (he was young ok) and yep, cheated on her and was basically a total fuckboy. And she stayed. And I think that's the thing--pick me's may have a man but they don't HAVE a man. To the outside world though it looks like they do. But behind the scenes its a mess.

Like the quote from Gone Girl “I was told love should be unconditional. That's the rule, everyone says so. But if love has no boundaries, no limits, no conditions, why should anyone try to do the right thing ever? If I know I am loved no matter what, where is the challenge? I am supposed to love Nick despite all his shortcomings. And Nick is supposed to love me despite my quirks. But clearly, neither of us does. It makes me think that everyone is very wrong, that love should have many conditions. Love should require both partners to be their very best at all times”

Pick me Syndrome/Culture is a sign of being Lazy and the lack of Discipline. I'm learning that when you hold yourself accountable and stay disciplined there is no way you'll be a pick me because you know that in order to get a certain life, guy ect, you are required to work hard. To look snatched, I need to eat clean and exercise. To get a degree, I need to study and cut out distractions. To get a respect, I need to respect myself, build self-esteem, get a life. To get a good guy, I need to fix my issues, create boundaries, maintain discipline (only scheduled dates, no late night calls, no sex without commitment ect)

I was like this when I was in high school. I just kinda tolerated them because I don't want drama but still ditched them when I had the chance. During the first year of college, I would still talk to them from time to time but as I get older, I decided not to talk to them that much. I also found better friends in my college days. Haven't really met up with them in years. I am just "friends" with them on facebook but don't exhange private messages with them. I felt guilty at times for not talking to them again but when I realize that they were disrespecting me back then, I just felt that not talking to them was for the better.

@@clementine8397 I'm not saying you specifically because I don't know you. I'm saying that men IN GENERAL are fed up with having to do everything while women demand more and more. And of course you have men chasing you, literally 99.99% of women on earth can get laid. Women don't have more options, you're competing for the few "good" men like y'all always say. Men have to pursue the women and we are realizing that it's not worth it at the end of the day. I'm just speaking for men in general because I'm off the market, but seriously there's little benefit to even date anymore. Especially after listening to women that make videos about how to lie and manipulate people, mostly men, while wearing a "revenge" necklace.

And it was the happiest & most confident I'd ever been (or so I thought!) until my ex came back into my life literally crying & begging me to take him back, made so many promises n made me feel like his dream girl (we had dated for 2-3yrs back 12yrs before & I completely blocked him out of my life) how he missed me n I put him on trial for months before falling blindly back in love. We're recently broken up now after 2yrs n I am one broken & shattered little girl, it's embarrassing. I have so many more problems wity myself that is gonna take a long time to work on n heal from. @@canesugar911 That is very true too but she also does have a different, and I’d say more logical perspective on a lot of things than “most people” (not meaning shalloners that have been watching her), she looks at a situation differently than others might. I know this because she’s made me see a lot of things differently. And for some when they’re faced with the truth instead of their own illusions, they don’t know how to handle it and get defensive. You’re right it’s definitely the delivery too, but yeah, truth hurts. Some people just really need to grow thicker skin. They hate her cause she’s usually right and unapologetic about it.

I was talking about this with a friend and they actually made a good analogy about feeling uneasy when we’re alone. If we think of ourselves as houses, and we never give the proper maintenance to this house, it’s gonna get dirty, the paint’s going to crack, the ceiling is going to cave in, rats will infest it... And by the time we come back to our own house, after spending all this time anywhere but, we’ll come back to a wasteland. The sad part is, time waits for nobody, and if we spend all this time afraid to be alone, we’ll never reach our full potential.

KEY POINT, How to “STOP” being a “PICK ME” LADIES. I see so many girls and women who put themselves on the chopping block and excuse our behavior as men and go out of your way to defend us and argue with other women just to get liked picked or just a pat on the head from us.. and as a Guy We see RIGHT THROUGH THAT and we WILL manipulate that and it’s Pathetic.. Guys we stay on code we’re not fighting nor arguing with each other to get a girl to like us or get a pat on the head we understand how that would make our collective image look and the old saying bros before h0ès.. You’re super right about love not being unconditional. It needs to be fed sometimes, mutually stoked with kindness and respect and consideration. And the balance in how we are taught to love is skewed, with women putting in all their effort often to their detriment. Choosing self preservation wins, I need to be treated well to live my best and happiest life.

I think the feeling of love can be unconditional but living arrangements are conditional. Humans need consequences that match the crime so we learn but love can STAY put throughout. That way you aren't on a roller coaster of extending and withdrawing love from self or others. You stay steady, and firm in your character choices and protect yourself with good boundaries.
