I asked my boyfriend how come one of our friends hadn’t asked my friend out since they were basically dating already, sex, food, attention all of that and he said to me, why would he? He gets everything already. All while my friend was pulling out her hair why he wouldn’t ask her out

My sister waited 5 years for her boyfriend to propose. At the end of year 5 she just packed up and left. He freaked out and begged her to come back then he proposed. They are married now 7 years with two kids but his attention always wanders. He was put off the road this year for drunk driving. I dont think he ever really wanted to marry her 😕.

So, I can never PLAY hard to get (almost none of us can) I have to actually BE hard to get, so I have to craft a life and schedule that is legitimately jam packed. I can't accept last minute dates, I'm booked. I dont respond to "U up" texts at 2am, I'm asleep because I'm up early to pursue MY goals and dreams. It's a lot easier to stay out of reach if you have things you're passionate about pulling you away from a fuckboy!

@@shallonlester That's such good advice! Girls often focus on how to "play" a player, but like you've said before, there's no way to win a game of who-cares-less against a fuckboy who doesn't care at all. As much as we pretend not to, we will always be the ones who care more unless we break that cycle and genuinely focus on our own growth, instead of performing growth for someone else.

If you’re dedicating so much of your time, energy, and love to a man who doesn’t want to marry you, you’re playing yourself. As I get older, I realize that many times, going the traditional route protects you from so many problems. A man isn’t getting ANYTHING from me that husband normally gets from his wife unless I am ACTUALLY his wife! I’m not here to play games or waste my time. I would rather be alone than be miserable with a man who doesn’t care about me.

One was divorced a year after having a gorgeous wedding. Don’t rush into it! Get to know them first! You honestly don’t know someone until you have lived with them, and you will find out things you absolutely hate about them! Take your time! Don’t rush because that’s what people think you should do! You have to start being friends with people before dating them. Only by doing this you can see if you’re compatible enough to date. After dating then you’ll get into a serious relationship >engagement> marriage all of which takes time. During these stages you can see how they deal with different issues which can give you a better idea of who they are. With that being said all of us change with time - so the person you commit to today is going to be a different person 10 years from now. There are no guarantees. Love and sex does not sustain a relationship and that’s what most people rush for in the beginning of a relationship.

Hey, I was going through something similar with my boyfriend of 2 years and I just want to say that even if it feels bad or scary you really can’t beat just laying out how you feel to your boyfriend. I told my boyfriend that I wanted to get engaged by the end February 2021, now he has decided on a ring and things are in motion. It’s not overly demanding to lay out a timeline of how you want your life to go, men aren’t good with hints so just say it straight. I didn’t tell my boyfriend that I would leave if I didn’t get a proposal by the date specified but it was obvious in the way that I was stating it. Good luck! I hope if it works out and you get engaged that you can reply and let me know what’s happened! 😊

To me the thing with Blake and Gwen is the same thing that happened with Camila and Shawn. When it was just romours and gossiping and them flirting with each other but saying "uhh we're still friends" I was like reeeeeaaaally into it, but when it became a thing it was just... ugh, NO, go back to being friends please! This is WEIRD!! There's something about them that just doesn't fit, and I think that happens when you try really hard to become "a thing" or try too hard to be THE couple. I mean, Brad and Angelina where THE couple but they didn't ask for it, they were just doing their thing and we all just fall for them organically. But if you try to push you're relationship into me with corny songs that are just BAD and big fake speeches... It's just not gonna happen, friends.

Sidenote I have always felt Gwen Stefani was overrated, even back in the 90s, but especially during her solo-spin after 2000. She's not THAT talented or revolutionary, and now all ANYONE says on videos of her anymore is "she hasn't aged". That's her only accomplishment people feel inclined to comment on, let's be honest.

I agree. Only liked one song, Holler Back Girl. I was a major Bush/Gavin fan, and only started paying attention because she was married to him. She hasn't "aged" because she has had a lot of work done.

@@juanitadaleslusher5218 Yeah exactly. And people act like it's an accomplishment... as if good genes and expensive doctors are an accomplishment. She definitely had some songs I enjoyed - Hollaback Girl, I enjoyed Don't Speak from No Doubt, Wind It Up was MAYBE kind of fun. That's about it. And I don't feel artists NEED to all be excellent - I love Pink and I don't love most of her songs... but Gwen Stefani just never had a personality in my opinion. She was always just a picture or pose.

A woman should not wait for someone else to give her her first engagement ring. The first commitment is your own. For this reason, years ago I gave myself my engagement ring. Thus, the second engagement ring is optional. Because the most important is always your own commitment. Congruence and authenticity.

😑 this hits so close to home for me. Last guy I was with for almost 7 years, I bugged him to get engaged-which we did, but then he just stalled and we broke up less than a year later. He ended up getting married to a girl he proposed to in 3 months and married her a year after our break up. Now, I’m in another relationship where the guy seems to really love me, but not enough to marry me. Over two years in, and a year and 8 months of living together. :( I do want a title, because to me, that is the ultimate gift of love yo give someone a title with more permanece and also giving someone your last name, and I am a feminist-but I really want that though.

I’ve had some very good advice that some I didn’t follow to my detriment. A single lady need a good doctor a good attorney and at least 1 good dog at all times lol. If a man is not interested in being with you when cooking and or eating don’t even slow down. Eating happens 3 times a day and then snacks and it’s most mens favorite part of the day so why wouldn’t he share his favorite moments with you. Buying food preparing food eating food and not a single thought of you lol There’s no reason for Blake and Gwen to marry lol all their needs are met without marriage.

my sister was with her ex for 7 years, like i was 12 when i met him and was an adult out of high school when they broke up. it was SO long. he really held her back in almost every situation. she always asked about getting married and i’m pretty sure he only agreed to marry her because she was enlisting into the military. not that it matters so much but the ring had to have been 75$. (it’s not like he was broke either so it was actually pathetic and i felt horrible for her considering the amount of time they spent together.) anyways, he called her while she was in boot camp and told her he cheated on her with some random skank in new york. then she got into trouble for crying in the bathroom at basic. THEN a few years later he messaged me and started to hit on me?! i was like what the fuck? men these days.

Wether you want to get married or not, you still have to 'choose' to live your life with your partner everyday and mean it, truly want it. Marriage won't guarantee anything, and the problem starts with people thinking that it will. I think marriage is a beautiful thing, but I see it more like a 'celebration' of the love that two people have, not like a thing you have to do to be complete or to fix things.

11:44 - This 😂. On the topic, I recently reached out to my hurt locker as it was his birthday. He genuinely revels in the longing I have for him, and it's arguably our sado / masochistic routine now. It's a pain that I actually enjoy, like emotional self harm, know it's bad for me but can't stop. However after following him on Instagram, he's started posting stories again - which he confessed once that he only did to get my attention 😏 - Likewise I said the same to him, which only gave him more ammo to shoot my emotions to Swiss cheese when he gets on his BS (eg leaving me on read). As such, I retaliate by not viewing his stories and get satisfaction knowing he's stewing from not receiving the attention. Well, that's what he thinks- however my saving grace has been the preview window on the homepage, where I can see the picture of his s***ty sunset without actually clicking on the ring of death 😊
