    The hoarder thing is from trauma. It's funny, I noticed it too. It actually made me feel understanding of her, not judgmental and surprised. Trouble making decisions, losing your phone 500 times a minute, running back in the house, being chronically late and disorganized and unprepared...these are products of a traumatized mind. I loved that she shared those aspects, and it really demonstrated the reality of her life experience and perspective. These are not flaws of a supposedly well trained rich person who didn't learn how to be a minimalist, these are personality traits prompted by trauma. The fact that Paris is able to be so successful and functioning despite the setbacks that trauma gave her is nothing short of incredible.

    Nicole Richie Is succesful when It comes to having a stable life and family, success Is not all about how much they earn, at least thats my opinion, I'd rather have Nicole's life, you know, she has money but also a stable life, with Paris Is just men and money, maybe we all have different goals, at least I value stability, and Is something I had to work on emotionally, because I had a lot of changes and didnt feel I had a direction, so now I feel succesful I achieved that 🙂

    Paris aims for a billion dollars... Because money and belongings is the only security she knows. She keeps everything people give her as they represent affirmations (no matter how superficial) that she is cared for... Even if it by total strangers. How can you trust in relationships... Platonic or romantic, if your parents, the people who should stand by you no matter what, betrayed your trust time and time again during your formative years growing up? Money... Cold hard cash you can depend on. It's easier to pay people in your employ to care for you. You can depend on them to do their job because it is transactional. But relationships... She cannot trust the motives of those who befriend her or who are in romantic relationships... She cannot be sure that they are not exploiting her or using her for clout. That is why she aims for a billion dollars... Because that is the only security she knows. I truly underestimated her. She is so strong, so much more than she gives herself credit for. She has incredible vision and drive. She is a creator... She turns her ideas into a reality. And yet, there is deep insecurity and ingrained mistrust. I TRULY hope she will be able to find someone who is her rock. Who is rejoices her success, is not threatened by the business woman that she is, who inspires her to grow as she does them and loves her for her.

    Well said. Someone in the documentary comment section said something like: I think she wants to make 1 billion dollars because her grandfather disinherited her bc he was ashamed of her s*x tape, even though the release of the tape was against Paris' will and must have been deeply traumatic in itself. But because she lost worth in her family's eyes, she feels compelled to earn it all back to prove that she is not worthless. Personally I think it's unethical to own that much money, be it Paris or the Hiltons or anyone in the world. You shouldn't have more money than you can spend bc the disproportionate distribution of wealth is the actual biggest problem we have on this planet. But I understand that for Paris, it's a trauma response. Really sad.

  • @violetsnotviolence
    @violetsnotviolence3 жыл бұрын

    I think Paris' sense of self was completely fractured because of the trauma she experienced as a teenager. It's hard to function normally let alone be altruistic and philanthropic if you have no idea who you are or what you stand for.

    I bet this was the problem that Taylor Swift had with Calvin Harris. Say what you want about Taylor, but Calvin's behavior is really telling and totally applicable here. He has priors for sabotaging the women in his life- look at what he did to Rita Ora's career. His twitter meltdown after his breakup with Taylor Swift in June 2016 really stunk of insecurity and trying to cut Taylor down when it was clear that her success had far eclipsed his. If he's capable of throwing that kind of tantrum on Twitter, I shudder to think about what he's like in private.

    One of my pet peeves is people who repeatedly bring up the phrases "love is unconditional" and "loves gives without expectations" to excuse their sloppy, lazy behaviour of doing essentially nothing and giving nothing. They cruise along on the bare minimum and are willing to take whatever you keep giving them, but are reluctant to invest the time and energy to reciprocate... because you did things for them and gave things to them of your own accord, they "never asked you to". I once idiotically dated a guy for almost a year who I must have spent thousands of dollars on in personalised gifts. I looked back and realised after all that time he got me nothing except a packet of tea. No birthday gift. No Christmas gift. Nothing. Wow. The idiot all that time was clearly me. Am SO glad I did not end up with someone like that... Because chances are it will only have gotten. worse with time. Not better. Words are cheap. Trust a man's actions and his efforts. And if it doesn't match up, being alone is far better than being perpetually frustrated and undervalued.

My hurt locker is a college educated white male, has the cookie cutter family archetype and that's always something i've wanted. We would always celebrate EVERY holiday and birthday at his families. Never once did he try to meet any of my friends or export himself into my world. He was a tyrant like his father and dating me he tried to imprint his parents dynamic on to our relationship. This has made me realized i miss who i was when i was with him and not him... Thank you.

My psychology class made us take the test and I came back as “insecure ambivalent” Meaning I act like I don’t care one way or another if I am shown attention etc and I got that way because of how I was raised. And that is how I am with my partners I act like it makes no difference to me what happens in our relationship, When in reality it does.

Though he is doing his own thing in terms of the research, he had to keep shoving in my face that an athlete who I had been trying to get for an interview for 20-plus years sent an email to him. That athlete also said something nasty about me in an email to him, and he forwarded the email to me, along with several other people. I blew up! Awesome video! Although I don’t entirely agree that Paris is self made at all. Her wealth was more than a leg up. At the beginning, her being a rich heiress party girl was her entire image. Did she capitalise on that image to build an amazing brand and career? Yes, but the wealth she had from birth meant that a) building businesses was not as risky for her as it would be for the average person (at least financially speaking) b) she didn’t have to work hard to build a name of herself the way a normal person would, as her position in society meant she already had one to some extent.

    Interesting video and insight. Happy to hear about your current relationship dynamics, he seems like a keeper! The best relationship (being an alpha female myself) is when you let your guards down infront of him and you can just be the girly girl that you are and let him kind of be the daddy lol.. If we become mens mothers, those are very short lived and unfulfilling relationships and they are draining and tiring arghh! So even if you are an alpha, keep that damn alpha-ness to your workers, or at job or towards the career etc not towards the man.. We have to become great actors for this to be able to imply. I have had to learn this and practice this and it works eventually 🥰❤

I think if someone is a go-Getter it can be toxic because they might sacrifice you over their business. It can be a good thing but also a very bad thing.
