“I’m not worth the investment”....yes!!! That spoke to me and l was like that and wasted much of my youth. I did not explore, exploit and enjoy that time of my life discovering my femininity and enjoying that aspect. Doing that in my late 40’s. It’s great and lm happy to be here now, but please don’t let the years pass without investing in yourself and finding that inner beautiful and worthy woman!!!

This reminded me of this one time in class where I was applying lip gloss, this guy just stared at me and when I looked up at him he said "ay ya" which is an expression that (in this context) means something like "oh well pardon me princess". At the time it made me doubt my femininity, but now reflecting on it he was probably just a beta and insecure himself. So much so that he had to pull others down with him

Oh Shallon..everything is so true...I feel this. I come from a very small town in Germany. And german girls usually don‘t put alot of effort into their looks, especially in small towns (of course there are exceptions). I was always the girl who loved wearing heels, wearing make-up etc., but at my school my girlfriends or other girls always made comments about the way I dressed. Or when we went clubbing I always heard the sentence „Well I don‘t like to wear heels I can‘t walk in them“. So when I was younger I never was my true self and started to look as normal as possible, because I wanted everyone to like me. I still put on make-up or did my hair but not so much (it was not authentic to me). I started to dress and look maybe since last year like my authentic self and I have to admit I still sometimes think „what will people think“ or „they mist think that I am a braggy bitch“. But I try to eliminate those thoughts.

i became feminine when i became a feminist. i just simply stopped giving shit about what men find attractive and i abandoned a need to be a ‘cool girl’. i stoped viewing phrase ‘you are not like other girls as a complement. i embraced sisterhood and stopped seeing other women as competition. i learned from them and released that we are multidimensional creatures and we don’t fit only one box.

I went from girly to crunchy, and now I’m back to girly!!! What seriously changed was exactly what Shallon said: choosing to prioritize my love for myself and choosing to make decisions to reflect on the outside, what I wanted to feel about myself on the inside. To be honest, choosing to love myself again, and to accept that feeling good about myself was OKAY was the best decision I’ve made in a long time, and it’s the most I’ve felt like myself in 8-10 years. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Well i've always been a very femenine girl (i did ballet, i'm polite and love so many femenine things), but when i had depressive episodes, i felt forced to dial it down. Now, i'm doing great, my mental health is very well now and i'm...the lowest maintenence i've even been. I've realized that doing the basics has always been a natural thing for me, but, the mania of always looking my best was coming from deep insecurities. The "new" natural me comes from wanting to enjoy my life a little bit more without having to obsess over looking my best. Ironically i felt the hottest now because i feel healthy and proud of who i am.

I LOVE your advice Shallon (I think I’ve watched every single one of your videos for the past two years), but I’m not sure I’d recommend glowing up physically first, and THEN trying to solve feelings of unworthiness/low self-esteem, because that’s what I tried to do, and it managed to make my self-esteem even worse. Before, I never really thought about my appearance, just a general “oh I know I’m ugly, whatever.” When I glowed up (and I mean, there was a DRASTIC change in my appearance) I ended up becoming wayyyyyyy more insecure. I was constantly obsessed with how I looked and what others thought of me, and couldn’t go out in public unless I was perfectly dressed and had my hair and makeup done. Honestly, I felt uglier than I ever had before. It was only once I learned that my self-consciousness was rooted in my feelings of unworthiness that I was able to dismantle those beliefs and regain confidence. Anyways, that’s neither here nor there lol

One of the problems that I've always had with a lot of feminists and the reason I don't really identify with the label is that the things they're encouraging and discouraging seem to move women to actually being more like men. Don't let anyone tell you that doing very normal, womanly things makes you not empowered or something. That actually sounds more like misogyny than the other way around. ❤️

When I was a kid I always tried to be a “tomboy” when at heart I was always a “girly girl”. I think our society/ the patriarchy sees femininity as something bad, or something for only men’s pleasure. So I always felt that being girly was something to be ashamed of. In movies the feminine girls were always the mean girls, or the dumb girls or a sexual object. There isn’t much representation of feminine women who are respected. So I think that’s why it’s so hard to embrace our femininity as women without the fear of people ridiculing us, not respecting us or sexualizing us.

20:55 If it works for palms, it must work for people, too. And it does. A healed broken bone becomes even stronger than before the injury. Muay Thai fighters know that - in the training process they create so many micro fractures when they kick bags and spar (mock-fight with half-force with an opponent) that when they walk in the ring to compete, their shins can withstand substantial impact. And oldie, but a goodie: “What doesn’t break you, makes you stronger.”

Thank you Shallon, great subject ! But maybe we should second guess the fact that girls should wear make-up and shave...things that most guys do not do. These are also things that implicitly objectify women, isn't that also what beta males want ?
