I like the “No.” concept. Why does society always pressure us women to always have to have a reason for saying “no”? I deal with this at work a lot. When a guy asks me for my number, now I simply just say “no thank you.” I used to be the girl that would always say “Sorry, I have a boyfriend!” etc. even if I didn’t have a boyfriend. Sadly, if we don’t give people a reason for why we say no (even if we say no to a woman) we are labeled as bitches but guess what? We have the power to change that. It is up to us to how we respond.

Authenticity is so refreshing. Growing up, I had some family members that would get so triggered by any contrary opinions I had and even some of my personality characteristics, that I got so used to walking on eggshells, sugar-coating, apologizing to keep the peace. Sadly, this behavior on my part transferred subconsciously into my dating life and even into friendships. I am just now owning parts of myself that I didn’t even realize I muted for so long because that “going with the flow” was second nature. Reclaiming my authenticity is causing a lot of change in my relationships right now but I know that ultimately anything I lose by being my true self is really a gain.

I feel like I missed out on “girl knowledge” because I was stuck in a “tomboy cool girl” narrative for so long. Because if this, I can’t walk in heels and suck at doing my makeup. I cringe so hard when I think back to my high school self! I’m a “tomboy” who also likes “girly” things. I’m only now learning how to be both at the same time.

Some bullet points for you ❤️✨ 1. Set boundaries: know who you are and what you want, live by that 2. Discipline: self accountability leads to having your own standards 3. Be self sufficient ! Do things that make you feel independent. 4. The key to life is saying NO ! Say no , in your own way . Make it known (in a quiet-confident way) that you don't take shhh 5. Be your authentic self. Do things that you love and hang around people who match your vibration 6. Learn the art of being. Know that silence is needed sometimes. Be comfortable with that. 7. Date people (and be around people) who want to see you thrive. Alpha males are like that, betas , no , no loveee 8. Be a warm blooded animal . You don't have to seek outside validation in order to feel confident . Strength comes from within !! I'd like to thank Shallon for her inspiring and amazing videos and I want to add something. All those things above, help you raise your "vibration" and your standards. If you try to incorporate them into your life , you will attract people who vibrate at the same vibration as you. We attract what we are , not what we want!!! I advise you to watch the video. There are some important things and paradigms that Shallon says. I just gave you some bullet points. ❤️❤️❤️

What I found interesting is that most of the women on your list are "Gamines" (Lisa Bonet, Zoe Kravitz, Emma Watson, Kristen Bell, Zendaya). Gamine is one of the Kibbe body types, and it's characterized by looking youthful/child-like. Gamines are easily likable because they seem non-threatening. It's interesting that you think these are the women that are easy to respect when usually it's "Dramatics" that people respect right away (e.g. Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, etc).

Hi, Shallon! I wanted to share my experience with you. I play almost every sport, I get along with the boys, I love the woods, I'm the kind of person who sits in the sand instead of a towel when she goes to the beach, I know martial arts, and I enjoy hanging out with guys as much as I do with the girls. I also don't wear any makeup. On the other hand, I'm a freak for skin care, I'm always wearing floral dresses, I put on very fashionable outfits, and I really haven't had any issues with boys treating me like a princess. People see girls as "girly" or "tomboy", but we are usually both or neither. I don't define myself as one of those categories, and I earn the respect thay boys give just by showing them how I want yo be treated. I have fun, but I have my limits and I'm very clear about them, and whoever doesn't understand that doesn't have my respect either. So, from my perspective, you can get along with the guys very well and like many of the same things, but that doesn't make you one of the dudes as long as you yourself don't define like that in your mind. Be you, and hang around people that treats you like you deserve. Loveeeeee your chanel. Thank you for the good advices 🥰

This is the same for guys. I’m more feminine and therefore I’m not treated with respect by other guys because I’m not “manly” enough. I think men should be able to explore their feminine side and not be restricted to toxic masculinity. It’s feel it’s a spectrum too though, so all people are different.

Love the idea of "no" being a complete sentence. Can you do a video on how saying "No" to things sometimes can be rooted in fear. How can we have a healthy balance between saying no to things that don't serve us and saying yes to things that takes us out of our comfort zone.

I like to think I’m a healthy mix of low and high maintenance... like I want my nails and hair done but I can also go a 3 day deep sea fishing trip without a proper shower. Yea I like camping but I want to do it in a trailer that has ac and a tv lol. But I also have an extreme makeup collection and love going full beat. Also I’m bi and Zendaya is my ultimate dream girl. She’s so grounded, did the correct things to go from child star to full blown A lister and so talented. I also have a hard on for Tessa Thompson 😍

Shallon, please do a video on difficult family dynamics. In this video you said the key to being an alpha female is to take no shit, and I totally agree with that, but my dad constantly asserts himself into my life in ways he shouldn't. I am seventeen and I dress fairly modestly and my styles is pretty casual, but im super into makeup. My dad is always telling me my shorts are to short and my shirt is to low when its really not and it really bothers me but after all these years i feel like my will is breaking down. I never want to let a man tell me what to do but its hard when everyday you hear a man tell you what to do. My dad values my brothers opinion more than mine because hes a man and it really hurts. I could really use your amazing insight! love you!

Another struggle is being a girly girl and an intellectual. People assume you aren't bright, especially in scholastic circles. You have to be really bold to get a chance to contribute in academic debate. I was actually shocked at this level of sexism, I mean in this day and age we should be beyond that. Also dating someone who is in the same level of academia and having more success in your endeavours with less work truly knocks their ego. It's difficult to feel bad about it when that resentment is based on a fundamentally discriminatory premise.
