Rihanna has always been in her brand of effortless cool. Even at the height of her music career when she was "competing" with other popstars like Gaga & Katy Perry, she wasn't worried about ANYTHING else they were doing. And she can crossover from hip-hop, to R&B to EDM, to adult contemporary. I mean there isn't anyone in music who has had her caliber of success while simultaneously crossover between so many genres and sounds. It's also insane how her General Public momentum has sped up in recent years. It's interesting that everyone from the gangsters to the frat bros to the soccer moms fuck with Rihanna and bump found love, diamonds, what's my name?, etc. The fact that everyone is anticipating an album is actually insane considering even in the glory days of Janet and Madonna from the prior generation, they were half as popular in the 90's and the 00's compared to their 80s heyday AND Rih hasn't relseased an album in over half a decade.

Maybe very unpopular opinion in woke times but in motivation and relentlessness and going forward despite feelings like hopelessness, my inspiration is definitely JK Rowling. I think she is very strong character, has very strong work ethic and was really fighting on for her dream and she handles rejection very well. Maybe I relate to her more as she seems to me more familiar, she is a writer, she is European, she spend her young adult years similar way to myself and in same places.

THANK YOU for addressing the weirdo comment that someone made judging Rihanna for not be married or birthing. That mentality is SO completely outdated, ignorant and judgmental. Geez, why would anyone think we all want the same things in life??? Life is not about the OR, it's about the AND. (I got that from GaryV). Our success in life is not, "you better get married and have children or you'll be miserable". That's a ridiculous way to think. Life is not about one specific, narrow route. You can be whatever you want life to be; like one happiness route is having a family, and then another happiness route is to be single, and there's another happiness route of choosing not to have children, etc. ALL ways are equal, it's about what makes YOU happy. Period. Namaste sisters. 🕊

I thought you were going to give us platitudes that don't get to the root of the problem. But this was actually quite helpful and what I needed to hear today when I've been putting off completing my assignments for days now, mainly because my perfectionism is getting in the way. Instead of worrying about writing a perfect paper, I should break down the paper into manageable steps and work on completing each step to the best of my ability.

Rihanna is amazing, so talented and so pretty, I'm proud of her. You're so right about everything being right on schedule, Shallon. One of the things that I've been saying to myself lately is, "everything in God's perfect timing". You can either use pomodoro method, or just go hard for one uninterrupted hour. It feels like a race which almost makes it fun, and it's insane what you can get done in an hour. Shallon, I cannot thank you 🙏🏾 enough for this video. It’s like you are speaking DIRECTLY into what I’m feeling right now so thank you 😊. Also, I LOVE 💕 Rihanna, she’s my girl. Since DAY 1 I realized that this girl was unlike anyone else in this celebrity game, the difference? She is AUTHENTIC, she’s not looking for clout, or trying to be the centre of attention, she has simply and consistently stayed in her lane, she does her thing and she kills it cuz she’s not distracted by all the bs. I LOVE HER 😍 & I’m so happy for her success.

Random piece of advice for who needs it, but for me the mundane can really burn me out and I really resonated with what Shallon said about getting your daily routines in order so you don't spend too much energy on the things that don't matter so much. I used to dread cooking for myself because a) I didn't have creativity to spend on thinking of what to eat every day and b) hated spending time in a supermarket every day trying to decide. But it's not cooking I hate, nor eating healthy, I love both. Unrelated but I went somewhere for a few weeks, there my only option was to go to the supermarket once a week because it was a 3 hour trip instead of my usual 2 min. walk. It taught me I only need to spend creativity once a week on what I want to eat, can enjoy the mouthwatering anticipation for preparing my favourite foods all week and include a 30 minute cycle every week, which I enjoy, by going to a (cheaper) supermarket further away. Sometimes seemingly the most convenient option, isn't the least stressful option at all. Convenience and fulfilment don't really share much resemblance either I think.

I felt silly buying these but I wanted them so badly because I always doodle and wanted a personal travel sketch book to do it in. Now it makes more sense… i haave this with stamps too. I love stamping… it’s time to stop feeling silly and make those greeting cards i guess:)

Im going to screenshot this for myself but the real thing that im having lack of motivation for is in the steps it’ll take to get through college and move out of my moms at age 28-29 . I feel behind but your right if I really want this career I’m going to lean all the way in and be laser focused on my vision - I’m going to break it down and refine my outline . Ego is a defense mechanism for pride sometimes and my laziness is just a fear to exit my comfort zone
