Chris Cuff (fortyfiveplayer) on KCJJ 1630 AM Stereo, April 2000
Ғылым және технология
The late Chris Cuff (fortyfiveplayer on KZread) and radio DJ "Captain" Steve Bridges give away a Sony boombox radio which Chris modified to receive AM Stereo as a contest prize on 1630 KCJJ in Iowa City, in April 2000.
This was recorded from the studio board to MiniDisc by Chris, which he copied to cassette tapes given to several fellow AM Stereo enthusiasts, including myself.

Chris Cuff was one of the best users on KZread, and sadly he passed away about a year ago. He was a guy who restores vintage record players and 45 RPM record players. He was also a DJ before he joined his KZread career.
RIP Chris Cuff…. he really had a damn good voice for the radio!!!
RIP Chris, I feel very fortunate to have gotten one of his AM Stereo transmitters.
😅Privileged to have known Chris. Without his KZread videos on how to build RCA record players it would have never happend. RIP my friend.
That was funny and they were having fun. When he said "its a Sony Boombox, not a sandwich!" Made me laugh. Thanks as usual for posting.
Thanks for sharing @Vwestlife sounds amazing, I just heard the Quad recording on Vimeo, my mind is blown,- Quad on AM! there's a AM stereo revival in Holland, I definitely want to get a capable rx and try to hear it. what a great station it really drives home how anodyne and predictable UK radio is
watching this exactly 24 years after this was recorded
I'm surprised the audio quality was so bad. Not long after putting the AM Stereo transmitter kit together, Chris sent me an AM/FM radio printed circuit board. He told me to wait and hang onto it, that the components would be available soon. I've still got the board. May he rest in peace.

Chris recorded it off the studio board, unprocessed, because the station's studio is at the transmitter site and the 10,000 watt signal was too strong for any radio he had to deal with. And he said "Captain Steve" likes to peg the meters, like many radio DJs.
Am stereo sounded better than FM imo.
RIP Clarence Frogman Henry. You will be missed!!
I'm in 🤘
Hhhh you have another Channel that I don't know about !!!!? how dare you why did you never talk about it
