The world's worst camcorder - Sylvania SY-4000

Old footage recorded in 2008 using the Sylvania SY-4000 pocket-sized video camera (also sold as the DV-2100). It was a much cheaper alternative to the Flip cameras that were popular at the time -- but with much lower quality. In addition to the terrible rolling shutter wobble effect, the graininess and chromatic aberration makes it look a bit like old 8 mm movie film. And the microphone picks up more noise from the camcorder's buttons than from what you're trying to record!

NinjaBoy and the Old Man seen worse than this and that is the camera on old mobile phones and The first digital camera my dad had which was an Canon ixus s400!!

@@windowsfan95 Indeed, the first mobile cameras were really bad, limited by the tech of the time. I think the worst ever camera I saw was the one Fisher-Price made for kids, it recorded on an ordinary audio cassette and the quality was horrid!
Ow yeah I remember these things. Total piece and nothing but a cash grab to get money from people that don't know any better. This was from the very beginning of sharing video with friends online.
Reminds me of my old Kodak digital camera, from 2004. My first digital camera to be exact, think the model number was CX4200.

I have a couple of flip style camcorders. One is the Shift 3 USB video camera and the other is some orange colored no name camera from Kohl's. They work OK but the sound is weak on both. The shift3's audio is terrible so it sounds grainy like Aussie50's old camera if you watch his oldest videos. The orange one was broken when I got it (no sound) so I took it apart and found a broken wire on the speaker. The quality isn't the greatest on those but they work.
I'm looking at this and thinking back to my first digital "camcorder" (Google search VCamNow 2.0). That one might have this beat (might still have videos laying around from 2006/07), but to be fair, it was sold as a toy and I was 11 (production value nonexistent even compared to the crap I currently put out).

No. I have both a flip mino and it. The flip mino has 1 gig of inbuilt storage, while it has an as slot
Retro is the new future, so how about reviewing some camera using this or worse camcorders? Or maybe at April 1st like Techmoan did :)

@@andymadden8183 I think he removed the video, I can't find the thing ("techmoan pxl 2000") The video starts with him saying "People said I should do a review on PXL 2000 video recorder, so here it is" then the entire review is recorded with PXL 2000.

Haha that's the same camera as my Curtis. Absolute piece of junk, but at that time when digital cameras were expensive, it was better than nothing.
There's still worse quality: flip phone cameras

What was I using in 2008? Oh yeah, a $100 pawn shop Sony Hi-8 camcorder. I made a lot of money off that camera and recorded a shit ton of videos with it. Looked better than this hot mess.
Yeesh just as bad as the camera on my phone at the time (actually this was marginally better which is saying a lot)

It’s a rip off of the flip camera
When I seen this I think people if they got this they wished they got a handy cam or heck stuck with their VHS. Camcorder. Heck my LG Cu400. Cellphone had better quality then this and that was a flip phone from Cingular wireless my first real cellphone vs the tracphone nokia blue with flashlight
LOL it looks like a cheap iPhone clone camera.
My Canon FS200 from 2009 is MUCH better than this.
