The healer strike was very poorly executed, I agree. My main issue with healers is a matter of proportions. Why, as a healer, am I required to contribute a mandatory minimum of 95% of my GCDs as DPS casts? I just don't understand that. And before some coper starts putting words in my mouth, I'm not saying healers shouldn't do damage or that healers should only heal. But 95% of my playtime...really? Can't we do like an 80/20 split? Pretty please? The DPS "rotation" and tanks being broken af aside for a moment, I'm just really sad that I'm never allowed to utilize my GCD to heal the party without being demonized for it being a "dPs lOsS". I'm sorry, not all of us are AST who have a billion ogcds to call upon, some of us have a large portion of our healing effeciency locked behind our GCD and using your GCD to heal is like a cardinal sin in this game. I miss the days where I got to heal more than once every 45-60s, and let's not pretend like savage or ultimates are any different. I'll concede that Week 1-4 Savage and Ultimates are super fun on healers, espeically if your playing in a noob party, but after people get good gear and know thee fight well, all you're doing on healer is playing your major cooldowns in set intervals, spot healing busters, and using your face to solve body checks. Other than that you're just tossing out 1 AoE heal every 60s. People are quick to dismiss these points but I promise you, If BLM/SAM only got to use Fire 4/Midare Setsugekka ten times across a ten minute fight - there would be all hell to pay. As a result, I'm quitting healer until they make healing a requirement again. In the meantime, I'm going to go play the fun jobs.

I've literally started leveling a healer to spite the healer strike. I don't like healing but IDC. You don't have to strike the game in order to get something changed. Just like how people were screaming that viper was too hard and they're gonna change it. They'll also change healing roles as well. So there's no point in it.

So the question is do we raise the bar of mid-core/casual content. Do we give healers a Dps rotation? Do we make it so tanks can’t survive without a healers bandaid? Though kind of hard to make adjustments to jobs based around a player who would love nothing more than all content to be savage level or higher as Xeno himself has stated. But agrees what he wants and what’s good for the game are to completely separate things. So a world first raider clears a dungeon without a healer. Rubicante Extreme was cleared with 1 Sage and 7 Reapers with 630 gear at content patch. Does that mean we need to nerf reaper more for their shield regen or nerf sage for being able to shield Dps from taking lethal damage from tank busters. In both instances these were things done by players who play in the highest end of the game. But the amount of dungeons you can clear without healers or without tanks or without Dps synced is an overwhelming majority of dungeons especially the further back you go.

As almost every elitist or semi hard core healer does... Remove 80% of healer kit, leave only dps and ogcd spells, and there you have all you need, right? Right!? Wrong! So why we have a healer class anyways? To compete with each other with DPS, using only OGCD spells to heal, deleting almost 18/24 spells that healers usually have in their kit? At that point, just remove healers entirely, give all other jobs lifesteal capability and problem solved.

stuff gets cleared with no healer. its not a problem unless it becomes more efficient than if you were to run that content with the intended standard party composition. i guess i could see 3 DPS 1 Tank being "unfair" but all players have to be skilled enough to do the content. if DPS dies then everyone just has to sit there and watch the tank fight for 5 minutes (unless DPS has a rez). didn't know so many people were unhappy with how healers play, i've always had fun healing. guess you can just give em a 1,2,3 with action change or something with slightly more damage and people will shut up. warrior is probably the only reason this is an argument, people should just play a more fun tank!

The fsr slider means. At 100, it's off. you are running at native res. At 99, fsr will kick in. you are running at 99% resolution and upscaled with fsr 1.0. which is notorious for oversharpening until you get halos around the edges. I suggest leaving it at 100 and off. The game looks softer because of the anti aliasing, TSCMAA, which is temporally based AA and usually blur everything. The new grass, metallic highlights and wet reflection shimmers a lot now, so there is no choice but to turn AA on. You can turn off camera jitter for slightly less blur. However, TSCMAA is tuned for ffxiv, the blurryness is not overly done like other TAA. The look has grown on me. Looks filmic now. I can't recommend turning off grass, the ground texture has a nasty repetitive pattern. keep at normal or high. Turning of DLSS means you will have TSCMAA + camera jitter on by default. No, DLSS doesn't upsample to AA your game. Not by default. As for characters, running around town, miqote, aura, looks dead inside. lalafell highest quality.

You certainly cleared some things up, I thought the strike was just because no new healers/ oversimplification of the role. I had thought it was interesting but doomed to fail because it just hurt the community of active players, the real issue wouldn't go to the people that need to hear it. As for my healer main self, only time I 'strike' is whenever the Tank uses sprint and/or fails using mitigation. They deserve their fate.

To be honest healers can actually do some pretty good damage when they get down too it, it’s just that they’re combat rotation feels so boring which yes fair they heal, but at least if the damage they could achieve had more combos and other spells cause my scholar maybe at level 55 has like 2-3 attacks (broil, art of war aoe, and one other thing and that’s cause every attack they get is just upgrading broil… or “stone 3” really one attack should never be upgraded 3-5 times that’s just lazy. At least give it additional functions if you use different spells. Cause aesthetically I really want to play a healer as a permanent class. It’s just the gameplay and weapons are really lame too, like the books was cool, if it was exclusive too just the Scholar, when sum should have gotten the wand or even a whip. Then white mage is vanilla which is fine everyone loves white mage, and then sage is just silly should have been maybe a short sword with a book had summoner not been a copy of scholar, or maybe wand and blade for some unique physical healer gameplay. Overall they dropped the ball not making picto a healer, or just adding a necromaner of some kind, and before anyone is like “blah you can’t be a necromancer” a Necromancer Hero of Light can be fought in the last dungeon too shadowbringers. Which I found really cool, as well as another unique class.
