New job weapon looks... intriguing. I was expecting something like a sword-whip. Wild guess: merging the two swords in a glaive is going to be linked to a button u can press every 120 seconds and will allow u to execute more gcds

I'm thinking it might be more like a style swap. Dual swords is fast, single target damage. Swapping to the double sword gives you AoE attacks. Or maybe slower, more powerful attacks that use up a gauge, similar to the Red Mage mana gauge.

it reminds me of the dual blade from god eater 3, which is one of my favorites. probably going to be a fun class, i do think its funny that lucas made up the absurd double balded sword thing and ray park(darth mauls actor) had to convince him to make the handle longer to be even somewhat usable, now doublesabers are in so many games, despite basically being using moves loosely based on staff moves from eastern martial arts.really outside of guild wars 2 with the daredevil class and sunforge, nobody really gives respect to the staff as a weapon.

@@Maria_Erias Zidane used twin daggers OR a twinblade (called "Thief Swords" in the game.) A lot of his best weapons were twinblades, as well his ultimate weapon was a twinblade.

I know square have a deep hatred for DoTs but if a class named Viper doesn't have at least 2 if not 3 I'm gonna riot.

more like the game's not really built for many dots, they had to remove some and I fear they'll remove even more next year. The debuff limits is pretty taxing on servers when you have many players or complicated fights (TOP had issues in a phase that gives you like 3-4 debuffs to everyone...) -- I'm thinking it'll have one dot like most melees and that's about it.

@@DacianGradaMusic How is it not built for DoTs? Its the same as any other tab target MMO. The amount of dots they have removed purely because they considered it button bloat is insane at this point. Most of the ones remaining are extremely long duration fire and forget rather than an active part of the job like the removed ones were. We don't even have a DoT oriented class anymore since summoner got reworked.

no worries for the quality, we can all see the trailer in glorious full HD, we're here for your reaction! :D I personally love it a lot, the animations look sick and it has quite a bit of originality compared to NIN, despite having the same "style" and gearset. I'll definitely try to get geared for it and level it as soon as possible in the new expansion. Good stuff.

They said the viper was "a new, exclusive job" to FINAL FANTASY XIV. That's false, this is Zidane from FINAL FANTASY IX as a job. It's the same as gunbreaker being Squall as a job.

No, from what I know "Zidane" isn't a class, it's a character. Same with Squall. White mage, that's a class. Paladin, that's a class. Sephiroth, that's a character.

@@Millicente Well, if we're going to do that, Zidane has multiple classes: viper, genome, male, thief, womanizer, actor, acrobat... Astrologian was a new job. I'm waiting to see that kind of thing again, not just X character from Y game turned into Z job.

As an aside, the scene were a taco is being eaten seems to be focusing on the guy behind Graha. "GREEN MAGE"?

I wished for Corsair or similar with gun and blade that would essentially be flipped red mage, melee for gaining gauge and gun for ranged special. But I do fancy twin swords as well, especially with how some of the NIN weapons are waaayy long to be called mere knives anymore. It better share gear with NIN and for the love of Twelve have at least some old primal weapons as glam options from the start, maybe even raid weapons too. And do those for other newer jobs while at it, SE.

Considering weapons are the primary thing governing what job you are at any moment, they're not gonna share weapons, just armor/accessories.

They confirmed months ago it was a scouting job, so it does share gear with Ninja. Weapons will, obviously, not be shared. It will not be receiving old primal/raid weapons, just like DNC/GNB/RPR/SGE did not receive old primal/raid weapons. They will only receive cryptlurker weapons from ShB, dungeon weapons throughout Endwalker, tome weapons from Endwalker and Ascension weapons from P12S and then they'll be given E12S weapons when the Eden ultimate comes out in 7.3. That is the pattern they've upheld since the release of DNC/GNB. I don't like it, either, but it's better to have your expectations set appropriately.

Just want to say that this video cements you as one of my fav ffxiv people on KZread. I need to check out your future streams for stuff like this. 😊

My guess is NIN+DRG, though can't imagine what it brings to the table that we don't already have other than versatility in stationary vs moving battles? Guessing either the 120 ability changes between both or maybe free change and dual is faster with lighter hits possibly inflicts debuffs, 2h is slower, but stronger and main dmg source?

Someone speculated that Viper will be DoT Melee DPS because poison and stuff. And the new caster will be a DoT caster

Would love to see a toggle like BLM's switching between Astral and Umbral casting, rather than a 60/90/120 ogcd ability. Allow the player to switch at any time. Toggle dual-wield for fast attacks, maybe apply DOTs, build up a guage and then switch to 2h/glaive mode to spend that guage on powered up big hits like RDM's melee combo. You can toggle between dual and 2h at any time, but for the big deeps you'll want the guage filled enough to enhance the 2h attacks.

This is kind of cool for the new job NOW this going be interesting to see what they do with lv90-100 skills for the other jobs

99% certain it's Alphinaud, given the subtitles. Might be that Krile is with them as well which is why they don't really show them since it's highly speculated she'll be the new magic dps job.

@@ExileTwilight It looks like there's one more person on the boat other than WoL, Eren, and Alphie but the shot you can see them in is too blurry to tell anything but "person shaped". Plus the final few lines about "my home, tural" are clearly a female voice if you watch the JP version. Possibly it's the person teased at the end of 6.50

Worst trailer by far and worst job announcement. Boring. I'm NOT a haters of FFXIV, Love this game but Endwalker was tired with some exceptions this seems alot worst

You think of something better then, something that keeps the balance in the game and doesn't overshadow the other jobs and had a good GCD rotation, name abilities, and animations for those abilities, this is anything but lazy
