Somehow I found this video a couple weeks before the release of the Deadpool&Wolverine film, and it made me understand why it feels so important that Logan will be finally wearing the classic color scheme of yellow, blue and black. I'm so excited to finally watch this movie at the theatre, but even most importantly to cosplay the Wolverine in all his glory, my favorite X-men since I was a kid.

In a later interview with Wes Craven when asked if he had any inspiration for the style in which he had shot "A Nightmare On Elm St.", his answer was " If not for Yoshitaka Sakamoto's cinematography in Nobuhiko Ôbayashi's 1977 film "HAUSU", I would have over thought, over shot, and went over budget on "Nightmare" but than again, I would have taken a more serious approach." -Wes Craven

What i feel is lost today is the ability to process nuance. Had, "Heart of Ice," been released today, we would have a slew of youtube video essays saying, "Mr. Freeze was right" or vice versa. Everything has become so black and white.

I personally understood this movie as a scenario a kid might make up while playing with toys in their head, as the character names are really simple and to the point, a great deal of effort put into making its world feel "fake" for the entire duration, and gore is visualized similarly to getting disassembled like a doll, among other things. I didn't even know it was co-written by an actual child. It's a big part of why I enjoyed it, I don't really know any other media that captures this (except for like Axe Cop but the kid who wrote it is 19-20 now and they're still trying to milk it well after the novelty has worn thin)

Hey there @kaptainkristian! I really enjoy your work! <3 I'm currently creating a video about the influence of Kaiju media in the creation of Pokémon, and I would love to use some footage from this video to exemplify an argument. I would obviously link back to your channel and credit it very clearly. It would only be about 10 seconds of footage! Could I have your permission? :)

*Behind the Door* *~ | “Nine Mysteries” True authority and power are ambiguous. They are unknowable to the common man. Authority is based on levels of information much like a clearance of classified information. Ambiguity is a true form of this expression, beyond the capabilities of any common core of birth and death. What goes on behind the cracked doors? What hides underneath their masks? What strange tests do they bring forth? Religion is, in a sense, the intentional creation of ambiguity and mysteriousness. Its art form is lost in the shuffle driving humanity ever onward into a dark shadowy corridor. What unknowable gods lurk on the other side? Authority becomes merely the proliferation and expression of mystery and ambiguity. More is more. By expressing absolute mysteries one creates absolute authority. It drives becomes eternal like an endless whip on a horse. With every step something is revealed only to find another mystery in its wake. This is the key to all religious authority and both its creation and inception. The Key of Ambiguity.
