I visited Thailand for like a month one time and I must honestly say Bangkok was one of my least favorite destinations. Especially since you say you'd rather stay at one spot and get to know the locals. Chiang Mai and Koh Samui were among my two favorite destinations since everyone there was so nice, a lot of locals and it felt a lot less touristy. Bangkok for me was this big city full of tourists where pollution, concrete and big crowds were the norm. While in Koh Samui and Chiang Mai a lot of nature and locals came through that made the experience that much more memorable for me. So maybe if you have time i'd highly suggest visiting these two places. Love your video's and hope you stay safe! Much love, pandy

your intuition is never wrong. I am also a solo female traveler and I had a scary time like this. I was in Chile, it was my 4th country of my trip (I was traveling South America for 6 months) and it was all very modern and nice. I also booked an airbnb so far away from the main attractions, and I was honestly so surprised when I got there because it was not in a good location. I stayed though. My phone was about to die and I realized I didn’t have an adapter because I didn’t know that Chile uses the European style adapter and I’m from the US. 1st bad thing to happen. I had no idea what to do. It was approaching dark, I didn’t want to stay there, and my phone was at like 1 percent. Like you said, that was the first time I really felt alone. I ended up leaving the Airbnb to walk around this semi sketchy neighborhood and I found this bakery. This guy actually gave me his charger and I was able to charge my phone. I began to walk back to my Airbnb but once I approached this very nice looking street my body immediately told me to turn around. I didn’t know why but a few days later was told that someone got shot on the street I was about to walk on the same day I was there.

I think is important to hear about this things because as women we want to avoid it to not be overly dramatic. I have experienced the same, I have had creeps following me in “targets”, in the US, even abroad I had someone following me everywhere i was walking. I have heard doorknobs moving someone trying to get in. It is a reality that we face, and we must not live in fear but be able to save ourselves and get our self’s away from danger to the best of our ability. Thanks for sharing, I hope we all stay safe and to have in mind that as much as we would like to feel free, we are not from “creeps that want to hurt us”, be safe everyone.

Glad you are ok, always trust your innerself. For my solo trips I never use airbnb, only hotels, very closed to ways of transportation, never too far from center or a more populated area, a good area. I rarely use taxis or GraB/Uber alone, usually on the way to airport. I feel bad for not getting better looking acomodations, but safety comes first. You will be ok, go have fun😊

I feel your pain! The same exact thing happened to me in British Columbia but on an electric bike. The bike fell on top of me and people had to stop to help me. My right leg is still messed up and I'm not sure what is wrong with it. It looked so easy but trust me, it wasn't. I'm still not laughing about it.....
