    Those words you said about the core message.. I teared up😢 I'm in the moment in life where I feel really lost and I don't know what I want. But what I'll do now is I'll think about the core message I want to bring through me existing in the world

    You’re doing it right. I moved around a lot & ignored naysayers. When Covid happened and travel stopped those naysayers said they wished they did what I did. Your Tokyo apt may be small but will bring u the sweetest best memories there. Enjoy every second and all the good ppl u meet. Good vibes & respect fellow traveler in SoCal - Mel ps . Do it all

    Traditionally, Japanese happiness was the feeling that arose when making a baby happy. In traditional Japanese society, babies were the source of happiness. This was extended not only to babies but to all other people, and people linked their actions to "the meaning of life."

    I absolutely love your videos and can't wait to hear more about how your dance career is going. I also have dance aspirations and I'm in my late 20s. You're making me really listen to the voice that I often block out, as I was encouraged not to pursue my dreams as I was 'too clever' to be a dancer. I feel like if I had somebody like you to listen to when I was younger, my life would look very different now.

    I feel so old at 37..and unable to do what I want. But I think what I still want is to move to Japan even though I didn't accomplish it in my 20s like originally planned. I love Japan, I visit often. Just not sure how to execute without a bachelors degree.

    One option is the student visa. There are a lot of options of what to study that would qualify you for that visa, including the language programs (37 is not at all old for the studies, plenty of adult learners doing it). It can be issued for a term of a few months to 2 years per visa, and is extendable, and you can legally work part time while on it (up to 28h/w, or more on holidays); by continuing to study, or by finding an employment that would qualify you for a work visa, you can be in Japan for many years and may eventually become eligible for permanent residency. Another (temporary) option is the new "digital nomad" visa: if you are employed (or self-employed) and can show a certain level of annual income, you may get this visa to stay in Japan 6 months at a time.That's good as a trial, and in that case you don't quit the existing employment. Yet another option is if you want to start a business in Japan (the "business manager visa"). Also, in Japanese immigration there's a point system where if you get a certain number of points - you can apply for permanent residency in 1 or 3 years (instead of the usual 10). That system has many different factors that determine the total points, not just the level of education. It's worth looking at what is in it, there is even a calculator online (something like Japan PR calculator). Good luck!

    Always love your channel! Actually you know what, you kind of sold me with the language tutors, I'm learning Spanish and if I took even one or two lessons where they could clarify my questions that would actually be very helpful to me, even though I'm not a beginner. Also love that you went on a little excursion, would love to see more of those for sure!

    I think, the things I take most from the few videos Ive watched. Is to prioritize, your self, your well being, and not to be afraid to learn, grow and open your eyes up to the possibility of the potential. Of course it helps that you are in the country I had the chance to go to when I was younger, but decided that I should meet the expectations of my parents rather than those of myself. These videos are great, and I look forward to each new one, and will roll back to the older ones when there is time

    oh my gosh, the greenery you showed on your run is so gorgeous! i think its interesting that such a small country with a huge population can still have such lush greenery everywhere. i’m from the midwest of the U.S and the only greenery i’m surrounded by is flat land with corn and soybean fields😂 do you feel like japan prioritizes nature more compared to the U.S?

  • @MisakoEnvela

    Yes! I believe the things that have made the biggest impact were: 1. I stopped mindlessly scrolling and indulging in so much short-form content. I found that it was really hurting my attention span. 2. I started forcing myself to actually finish things. For example, if I began reading an article, I would push myself to finish it even if I lost interest after 2 minutes. This helps re-train my brain to complete tasks and stay focused on one subject for longer periods. 3. I put my phone in a different room or turned it off while I worked. Creating a bit of friction between myself and the things that typically distract me has been beneficial. 4. I reduced my sugar intake and returned to a plant-based diet. 5. When I want to distract myself or avoid a task, I try to get to the root of why and address that. Sometimes it's not that we CAN'T focus on something; it's that the idea of doing it overwhelms us and we want to avoid being overwhelmed. For example, I used to avoid video editing because the thought of dedicating an entire day to it was overwhelming. Now, I spread the task over 2-3 days, making it more manageable and less daunting. I hope these tips are helpful, Sarah! xx

    with your tutor, do you ask them to make the lesson plans or do you know what you want to do and tell them?

  • @MisakoEnvela

    @MisakoEnvela

    This is a great question! I told them both what I’d like to work on. With Kanako, I asked her if we could go over sentence structure and that’s exactly what we did! With Rica Sensei, I asked her if we could practice conversations and wanted to learn more about Kanji, and that’s exactly what we did! You can also let them lead and decide what to teach for the day, if that’s what you prefer 🙏🏽
