I am 60 years old and have lived in Los Angeles all of my life. I am neither rich or poor and I do feel grateful, but I am exhausted. Completely exhausted by it. Your channel gives me hope. I am rooting for you, and for me by extension. Thank you for that.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and share a bit about where you are in life. I understand how exhausting that city can be. I am happy to read that my videos are giving you hope, and please know that I am rooting for you, too. 💙 Sending you so much love and light right now.

Have you ever considered moving??
The rain with the mic made video soooo calming! Girl. ❤

I live in CDMX! I first came across your channel when I was researching my move here and had reached out to you and everyone else that I followed to say I was coming and try to connect! 😅 Listen, anyone who would listen was getting reached out to at that point! Cut to now I’ve been living and THRIVING here for what will be a year in July! I am so very happy for you finding your next home and I am enjoying following your journey! I just turned 48 and am sharing this here in case anyone watches your video and sees this comment and feels they are too “old” to change their life and move to another country! You are not! Now back to you Misako, again, wishing you the absolute best and marveling at all of the wisdom you have and share! ❤
1. Love the rainy vibes 😍🙌🏿 2. I totally feel you on experiencing a better quailty of life and having no desire to live in the US again. We get sold this narrative that it's SOOO great here and there's nowhere better. But the reality is until we go out and see for ourselves we'll never know. Thank you for continuing to commit to your craft. These videos are so beautiful 💜✨

Hi dear!! I couldn't agree with you more about the false narrative!! Also, I wanted to say thank you for consistently watching and showing up for me. It makes me so happy to see your comments and I really appreciate your support. 💙 Sending you lots of love!
More rain and talking vlogs ❤
wow the headspace that clears when you have trust and safety. sheesh. you deserve! we all deserve!
Though it can be frustrating, it's important to always take care of your health. That is one thing you should never put off though. Health is wealth.
I would never come back to the US.. it looks so peaceful and beautiful out there.. why deal with high cost of living in violence.. I'm about to get out of here. And go somewhere where my money can take me far
2 more days, 2 more days, from NYC. As visitors, tourists, 外国人, it’s respectful to be mindful of the fact that the Japanese are going through very tough times. Not just economically, but as a society. The hikikomori situation has reached epidemic levels, suicide rates are among the highest in the world. So, while we see and feel peaceful and reflective when there, far too many Japanese may feel they’re living lives of “quiet desperation.” I personally know quite a few Japanese who do wish to open up about their feelings, but feel the Bushido code, which can be extremely beautiful to Westerners, doesn’t allow them to do so. With that said, I believe every human being on Earth owes it to them selves to travel to Japan at least once.
The kombini umbrella ❤ I’m starting to look forward to your morning walks. Short and sweet nuggets of wisdom. I live in a tough reality of war but I find the small joy of walking my dog in the small park next to my house and see all of my cat friends. And to see that my dreams of a new chapter isn’t that crazy.
If you don't mind explaining, why would your educational background hinder you from getting a long term visa? I'm asking because as an American who also attended college, I too have a desire to make my dreams of living in another country outside of the US a reality. Thanks for sharing your journey with us each day.
I’m from Southern California, but I’ve spent the past year in Edinburgh for grad school. There have been moments when I miss home so much & want the sun, my people, and my old routine back. But now, I’ve learned to make Edinburgh a home & enjoy this beautiful city and the sweet community I’ve made here. Now that I’m planning on going back to California once my program ends, I can’t help but feel sad and heartbroken already leaving this city.
I lived in Mexico for almost two years. Came back to the states but I KNOW I will be leaving again. As much as I love my family and friends, I don’t love my life here. Letting go and accepting that the life I want is not possible here is…challenging
Seeing you thrive in Tokyo really fires me up to dedicate myself to my Japanese studies! I’m coming to Tokyo in October to stay there first six months. I hope to feel the same happiness as you do! 💕
In my next adventure, I desire more peace, slower pace, better quality of food/ living. I too enjoy living a softer life. I'm in the states presently in Philadelphia. I was gone for 30yrs. Had the opportunity of living in thialand/spain during covid. I moved back to philly to get out of debt. I accomplished that. However having to navigate living through a shelter experience took a great toll on my being.Starting over was very challenging at 57. reintroduced myself as transman to my family which didn't turn out the way I thought it would, yet I'm grateful to have had opportunity to share my authentic self. Now, I'm planning for residence in Portugal. Thank you, your videos😂 keep me inspired along the journey
That's a very interesting point you make and I agree. I think it says a lot about the value of honesty and integrity in different cultures.
Haha I like the mike stand. 😄
I agree the quality of life we can get in other places are way more peaceful and graceful than here in the US. I can’t wait to move somewhere that resonates with my soul. I plan on going to Malaysia soon to see if it’s where I want to live. Thanks for sharing 💕 it’s very inspiring 😊
I plan to move to Mexico - currently we live just outside of Washington, DC. My wife has never lived outside of this area - it's toxic!!! I call it the pressure cooker, I hate that our kids are growing up in this environment. Your videos look so peaceful... Thank you for sharing your experience.
Yes young folks get out of the US at least for awhile .....it will change the rest of your life!
I lived in Tokyo for 6 yrs, and now I live in countryside Japan. To be honest, living in countryside is much easier than living in Tokyo. Try sometime.

It truly amazes me, how I can watch your channel and find Instant peace.I guess I live vicariously through the people I watch, knowing I won't make a change, or go after things like this. I commend you for setting a life changing goal, and seeing it come to fruition. Well done! ❤

Agreed! 🫶🏾🥰
Last there in 1960 as a child. Miss my innocence there. Maybe one day but for now Hawaii is a not so bad second choice. My 7 year old granddaughter needs me here. Thank you for the wonderful nuances you bring back to mind. I appreciate you.
Japan has the best umbrellas ever …
I love rain videos! Please do more like this.
This video resonated. Services in the US [auto repairs, healthcare, education, home repairs, you name it] have become scammy. In Japan, you don't have to worry about being scammed.
i got teary eyed. i'm cultivating my simple soft life. i look forward to being home, that familiar place where i can thrive, live in peace and joy connecting to the land. i have my internal peace now so it will be external as well.
ミサコさん😊 日本語🇯🇵の動画を作ってほしいな 応援してます🫶
I look forward to your videos the have a calming effect for me and elevates my mood...Thank you
Yes lawd 👏🏾👏🏾 I travel to Japan 5 times a year it’s so simple
Im from South Africa and recently moved to Japan . This was completely relatable ❤
Let me share a mechanic story in the US with you. I was with my young daughter, I dropped my car off for a simple service and they said it would be done in 45 min to an hour. I then walked around big parking lots and a target and a dollar store and returned after an hour to get my car. They told me they hadn’t even started working on it. I wasted an hour of my day and my daughter’s for nothing. So I totally hear what you say. It would be great if we didn’t have to deal with such “surprises”
Watching your videos hype me up by the day. Planning a move abroad and I can’t wait to get out of here. Your videos help me countdown the days 🥳🥳🥳 so happy to see you happy and thriving! Love this for us 🫶🏾
I just recently subscribed to your channel. I don't know if it is just me, but each time i watch u i feel like i heal just a little more😔thank u so very much for your content. May GOD bless and keep u on this new journey 🙏🏽
Beautiful scenery and vibes
Loved the rain video! Japan is an AMAZING country! Sooo beautiful 😍! Incredibly calming❤
love you sister! forever proud of you mama ❤🌟
Loving the the braids and your messages ❤🎉 go girl!
I live out of the country as well and truly love it. Travel as much as I can. Japan is next for me. I’m so excited it’s been a childhood dream wish I had the opportunity to stay there longer, but I am so grateful for the time that I will happen so enjoy your videos. Happy for your peace. Stay blessed.
I found you today and I subscribed and I am so glad. Keep moving forward young woman.
I am 20 years old from Norway and already thinking of moving out of my country because, i dont like it, its too cold, boring, wanna see the world and more. So I find your vids very interesting and helpful! I hope to live in Japan in the future and would like to explore other cultures, but problem is of course money, committing, leaving friends and family. Any tips or thoughts from anyone helps! And I also just wanted to share this for my one sake.
ASMR rain. I feel you on the path you chosen. Glad the algorithm put your japan vlogs on my discovery feed.
Your videos are so soothing
I LOVE the sounds of the 🌧️... I smell the petrichor from here 😌🙃
beautiful video , thanks
Love the content, keep up your great mindset and rock on!
Hoping to move and work in Japan within the next 6 - 8 months for the same reason you stated in the video. when I visited a month ago I have never felt that happy and peaceful ever when visiting another country. hopefully I can find and exercise physiologist job over there even if its on a military base.
I am so happy for you, Misako! I seek such happiness
When Yu smile, I do too!!! (It's yours, it's infectious!!!)

I can't stop watching all these videos! my life's dream is to migrate to Japan i love it so much i cant think of anywhere else in the world that i would rather go or live at but migrating to Japan is difficult :( , but i Love your videos keep it up ❤
Well done on the mic improvisation! #mciver😃
It's so important to cherish your daily life! That makes up most of our days, so it's necessary to feel comfortable being with oneself and to care for one's own good. Very nice vlog, I'd love to see more of the positive selfcare!
Both the rain and your speaking cadence make this so soothing to watch, and what you share resonates deeply. I'm living abroad (an Australian in France) and things never going the way you expect/the way they are described can be so taxing. It's wonderful you've found a place where you're accessing more calm and ease - can't wait to hear more about your experience 🌧🤍
Oh so timely. Thank you for all this, including the ASMR raindrops. Sincerely, a guy from NJ
Hay Misako 👋🏾 “Making room for surprises…”so relatable!!! I used to love my hometown: London. Primarily because of the cosmopolitan atmosphere but things have changed and now I’m planning my own trip to cleanse my palate. Maybe I’ll come back and it’ll feel like home again, or maybe not! 😅 Love the sound of the rain ☔️, the scenery and pace of your videos. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. Safe travels Sis❣️
I just turned 40 and have decided I'd like to move to Japan. I need to figure out the work situation. It's kind of the only thing slowing me down.
Misako, I am LOVING this Japan content…this place looks good on you! Do you mind talking more about the visa process?
Coming from Australia 🇦🇺, we were brought up believing we were one of the "lucky" countries. Life was peaceful, free of war, free of poverty on the whole as long as you worked hard, and the opportunity to earn a great wage as long as you worked a full time job and/or did well in education. Now however, houses are mostly over million AUD for a basic home, you need a double income to pay off a home or if you are single you need two jobs and work 16 hr days. It's sad to pass that way of thinking onto my now teen. We've dreamt of moving since visiting Japan 5 yrs ago, fell in love with the safe streets which were free of outward crime and a society which cared for others. Yes , there's some downsides to the society- infantilising/sexualising women, long work hours with traditional office jobs. But anywhere that is a Western country now is too expensive to live and littered with massive drug use on every corner. We dream of a slower quieter life where I can work as a qualified nurse, and provide my teen with the ability to choose a safer and more mentally peaceful existance. Thank you for sharing your days with us. It gives us hope that it does exist elsewhere. ❤
I loved living Japan. I dream of going back weekly but it’s not so easy. My last daughter was burn there. Some how I will go back
I am an empty nester who had prayed for years to life a "soft life". I am living a softer life, and I am so thankful. I have had time to reflect and I am finding that I am growing and becoming the women that I envisioned being. I will be moving to a new state in a few months. I am nervous about the typical things: finding things to occupy my time, finding new friends at an older age, etc. But most of all, I am looking forward to living a more simplified life. Also, placing your mic on your umbrella was a genius move!

Hiii I am a new subscriber to your channel. I hope to be in Japan by the time i am your age (im 25 now). Your vlogs are so aesthetic and just good feels to watch. I’m studying 2d animation in uni right now in Hungary and so i hope i can work for a Japanese animation studio.
Hi i went to Tokio five years ago I am hoping to return this year because it’s the perfect place for me . I feel secure and free

Pureness of intention, continuity, relativity. Living of the beauty within. What difference can it, does it, provide? 🙂💫❤
💖♥️💕
Misako, are you there on a student visa? After a month can you re enrol at your school?
How long have you been in Japan?
please show us how you make your shopping how you make food show us your home show us the food thank you ❤
Nihongo hanashimasu omoshiroi desu ne 😊
Considering that you haven't found you a job yet and it's only been 3 weeks, that is yet to be seen... You are comfortable now, but you are not really "living" there trying to survive.
I know what you mean. I went to Japan last year. It was the first time I went to Japan, also the first time I went abroad. I miss it. I felt so many things all at once there. Overall, once I left it made me really change my perspective on nature, life, relationships, connections, goals and dreams. So, I started to really put my goals and dreams into motion. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad to hear your likewise mindset.
