Chiltern Transport Productions

Bus and train enthusiast from Buckinghamshire now in Oxfordshire. I mostly film old buses with thrash and kickdown likely to be withdrawn soon

No it’s not the same, at least not with the way First set up the B7TLs and B9TLs. The B9TLs - count yourself lucky if they ever have any form of Topodyn mopping, Bath certainly is with their 12 reg as that is not the norm nationwide! B7TLs on the other hand quite often were kickdown enabled and had a fair chance of being used Unfortunately these older ones have become rare. I am particularly saddened to see the HW52 Presidents at Salisbury recently withdrawn, some of them were among the finest around! If you ever miss that B7TL fix, head up to Acocks Green, West Bromwich, Sutton Coldfield or Bromsgrove whilst you still can

Considering the state I saw the other VPs including the “best” one last year, I can completely believe that. They used to be good but they became total crap towards the end, they let go with the maintenance Even if they were good though, they’d have been on their way out by now since they’re 20 years old but at least then they might have been bought by some independent for schools and rail 🤷🏻‍♂️

These don't have kickdown enabled, or if they do then it's a fairly low threshold for it. When I drove 15351 it would shift from 5th to 4th at just below 50mph if you push your foot to the floor but don't press the kickdown. Seems to be an odd glitch with these but made for a lot of fun driving it either way. What you experienced would've been that and remarkably it's not actually traditional kickdown
