Ex Stagecoach Manchester and Stagecoach East
A rare working sees a decker work the 16 out of Kettering to Raunds (not to be confused with the Northampton 16 to Ecton Brook). Normally this route gets E200s
I hadn’t even heard of this route until I noticed this on it and that it has a good thrash opportunity down the A14. In fact this maxed out at 58mph, which is impressive for a 16 year old Trident! Nice to see not all of these E400 versions have lost power over time. I had a hunch this might get planted since it was running about half an hour late, clearly I was right!
This happened at the same time as F1 Silverstone, so it was likely connected along with the Northampton workings later that weekend such as 18155 on X46 on the Sunday, which sadly I didn’t manage and never will now that the first few new MMCs have arrived, awaiting commission 🥲
But maybe I didn’t miss much. It and all those other rare workings could have been crawled for all I know, at least I know this was a solid run on a very rare working I caught on camera
