-Most people say ALX400s are dull. But- this bus (and the rest of these sounding tridents) are the best! Esther Urowayino Could be a voith as I have heard other buses with Voith make that deceleration. Voith's also like to whistle during acceleration, and some say that is coming from the Retarder or Transmission brake, though ZF ecomats like to whistle as well.

+XN40 Channel (Mike H) Yeah, these are Voith Tridents. Voiths also like to hold first gear for quite some time as well.

Off peak? Not every bus will be full of people, TfL provide bus services the whole day, 24/7 on some routes
