For many years, the 561/562 ran together as circulars in opposite directions to each other (561 clockwise, 562 anti-clockwise). Since I filmed this, the 561 has been withdrawn with only 562 serving the estates. At the time I was there, the Bolton routes had recently been taken over from Di*mond
These routes are not great for kickdown as you might expect. From what I can recall, I merely did this as it was slim pickings with what Citaros were working and I wanted to see if I’d get any kick on the estate routes, which I clearly did. One thing I will give 561/562 credit for is the hills - those are good for demonstrating the raw power these German beasts possess!
Apologies for the horrendous camera angles, it was busy for pretty much the entire round trip. I was quite lucky to get any video out of it as it is
This bus was working Route 561: Bolton Interchange - Withins Circular (Clockwise) via Tonge Moor, Withins, then Breighmet, Tonge Fold and back to Town Centre
