KICKDOWN | National Express West Midlands Transbus Trident/ALX400, 4539 (BL53 EDP) | Route 49 (YW)

22/9/2024
Now this is one of only 2 BL53s left in service, both at Yardley Wood since the Wolverhampton Heritage bus (4535) was recently withdrawn. It is also one of the very few non Euro 6 modified Tridents left with NX as well
Make the most of all the Yardley Wood Tridents on offer as they’re set to be replaced by new BYD E400 electrics over the next 1-2 months! This follows on from the recent Perry Barr deliveries to send the BX09 E400s back to the leasing company
This bus was working Route 49: Rubery, Hollywood Bowl - Solihull Station Interchange (Stop D) via Longbridge, West Heath, Wychall, Kings Norton, Hawkesley, Maypole and Shirley

No you can’t! Good bit of sturdy Scottish kit that, designed to deal with the harsher environments up north! My favourite for a reason

Does this mark the beginning of the end of Birmingham's Euro 3 fleet? Shame if it does because im glad they kept these and the B7TLs going for so long

I don’t think it’s the end of the Euro 3 era for Birmingham just yet if that’s what you mean. Yes it is the end for Yardley Wood’s Tridents as they’re due new BYD E400 deliveries but for now Acocks Green will still have their B7TLs going on 1, 72, Outer Circle, sometimes also 4s, 73 and other routes When you say Birmingham, do you only mean the area where Birmingham City Transport/Birmingham Corporation had their depots, or do you mean the entire West Midlands County including the Black Country?
